Show office open one hour prior to first ride time on show day. Riders eligible for the youth division until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 21 years. Introductory classes will be held in the small (20 x 40 m) arena. Rider tests (new!) will be held in arena size designated for level. Dressage equitation class is a group class. Helmets and rider boots required. Teams may wear matching riding attire without coats. It is typically very hot at this time of year, so horse and rider comfort and safety is paramount. Effective March 1, 2011, for dressage: Anyone mounted on a horse must wear protective headgear except those riders age 18 and over while on horses that are competing only in FEI levels and tests at the Prix St. Georges level and above (including FEI Young Rider Tests, the USEF Developing Prix St. Georges Test and the USEF Brentina Cup Test).

2 Prizes Offered and Entry Fees: Dressage Team -- USDF Team medals on neck ribbons are awarded to teams placing first through sixth place based on the average of two rides (one for FEI) for each team member. Youth teams compete against youth teams, adult teams compete against adult teams. Champion and reserve individual ribbons. SMSG Individual: Gold, silver, and bronze SMSG individual medals on neck ribbons awarded to the individual riders with the highest average percentage of two rides at the same level (one ride only required for FEI) for dressage. The Show-Me State Games is an Olympic-style sports festival with more than 40 sports for all ages and ability levels. In addition to the summer games, the Show-Me State Games offers events throughout the year to promote health, fitness, family and fun. In 2012, 33,994 people participated in SMSG events throughout the year. Dressage has been a sport in SMSG for several years. Follow SMSG on Facebook Opening Ceremonies (with the Parade of Athletes) will be Friday, July 19-7pm at Mizzou Arena. Those wanting to take part in the Parade of Athletes should arrive by 6:30 - use the main entrance of Mizzou Arena. Volunteers will direct you from there. Awards ceremony: Required mounted awards ceremony in riding clothes to celebrate SMSG individual and USDF Team placings after the last class of the day. Bring your cameras! About the USDF Region 4 Team Competition: The USDF Region 4 Team Competition is a unique show, featuring team competition in dressage, educational programs, team medals and a mounted awards ceremony. The USDF is sponsoring team competitions in each region so riders everywhere can join the fun! Team formation -- a dressage team is a group of 3-4 youth or 3-4 adults who ride two tests (FEI only one test). Team members may be riding at different levels. Team entries may be organized by GMO, pony club, farm, instructor or scramble (i.e. putting riders without teams together). Any individual rider needing team members is encouraged to send in an entry and a scramble team will be formed. Everyone can participate and it is fun! Team spirit award: All riders are encouraged to support their fellow teammates by helping each other braid, tack up, get dusted off, keep horses well cared for, watch each other's rides, and applaud each other's efforts! A special prize will be awarded to the team who best displays team spirit. Entry package: The total cost for per horse/rider for two dressage classes (one for FEI) for an entry received by July 17 is $50.00 and is all inclusive (unless your entry is late). Late entries will be taken as scheduling permits, with $10 added fee per class. Refunds After July 17, no entry fees will be refunded, even in the event of cancellation of classes due to severe weather or other emergency. Ride times available on the CDCTA Facebook page and by to riders who provide a legible address on their entry form or by mail. Estimated date of posting: July 20. Stabling: is not available at the competition venue. Limited stabling off site may be available. Contact Lora Blair at (573) or lhblair@centurytel.net. All horses must be safely cared for at their trailer. Submission of an entry implies knowledge and ability to care for the horse in this manner. Off site stabling may be available at Boone County Fairgrounds (fair will be going on). Contact for more information. All arrangements with off site stabling are between competitor and fairgrounds, not this competition or CDCTA.

3 Arenas: Weather permitting, dressage will be held in 125' x 225' outdoor sand arena (can be set up as 20 x 40 m or 20 x 60 m dressage arena); if entries warrant, an additional 20 x 40 meter grass dressage arena may be added; warm-up available in 110'-220' sand indoor arena. Concessions: Food available for purchase on-site as fundraiser for Hinkson Valley Pony Club. Directions: From Hwy 63 and I-70 in Columbia, MO: North on Hwy 63 approximately 7 miles to E. Hinson Road and turn left. Turn left on MO VV and right only West Akeman Bridge Road. Barn is ~ 2 miles. Can mapquest specific directions from map on farm web-site contact page. Coggins: Evidence of a negative Coggins test within the past 12 months required.
