Always on the go with best group of people on the earth. Your services here were spectacular. Johan & Johannes were amazing guides and brought out the best qualities of South Africa. Never thought I would be here, so I have to thank Bob Landis for that. I hope to return soon, thank you so much for a wonderful time! Justin Lehman May 2006 Jim Hill and Alan High hunted with us in 2004 and returned this June with more friends. We thought doctors and lawyers in one hunting area may end up in a riot, but this was a most enjoyable week for hunters and hosts alike. Although they were 7 hunters, they set a new record for a one week off take of nearly 50 trophies. Not counted, was the other 150 missing shots at baboons. Johan also made a special trip to the Kalahari with Jim and Alan to hunt for Gemsbok. These 7 hunters, hunted in 4 different hunting parties. Doug Sasser had a long list to accomplish, so he hunted by himself under Johannes s guiding. Erik Kenyon and Jim DiMuzio filled their quota, but also their heads with numerous Fanie-Facts. Jimmy Davis and Matt Tedder hunted most of the time under Casper s watchful eye. We still wonder where we found the time to enjoy this week so much. We look forward to your promised family returns. 6 The Hufstedlers shared yet another special family hunt at Dinaka. Doyle and Kathleen together with their daughter Gretchen and her husband Mark Bullock, planned this trip. It did not take Doyle s brothers long to join in with the party. Josh, also joined his dad Dean and soon became a formidable hunting team. Duanne & Drew made up the third hunting Doyle 26 4/8 20 3/8 20 5/8 11 4/16 party. Doyle and Kathleen s son, Doyle III was tragically killed in combat in Iraq, before he could hunt at Dinaka. Much of this trip was in memory of Doyle III. We salute you all for the strength to continue life so fully after your great loss. Thank you all, for entrusting us with a once-in-a-life-time trip. Just perfect our family time together at Dinaka will always be our special memory. 8 Dave Collis from Hunters Mexico always accompany some of his own clients to Dinaka. This year was the best as he convinced his lovely wife, Connie to join in on the fun. Connie s nieces, Brette and Amanda Andrews made use of the opportunity and joined the party. Dave s brother, Mike also had enough of all the wonderful Dinaka tales and decided to come and investigate himself. Pat was side-by-side with Mike on all his excursions and has some great footage of his hunts especially the ones where the action was on screen. It was almost unreal to see what great animals were brought in by the hunters. As with the others, we enjoyed the delightful commike Collis: Waterbuck pany of Garry & Teresa Adams. Your 8-days of hunting went by way too quickly. Gary s incredible list was topped by a rhino darting safari, which made it an unforgettable experience for all. D.Wayne Trousdale was most sharing and under the care of the veterinarians, Brette and Amanda administered the antidote on the injured rhino, which D.Wayne darted. Nobody deterred D.Wayne from succeeding in every aspect of the hunt. Your hunt will be a hard one to beat, but the great times we shared and the caring people we have met, will ALWAYS remain with us. 11 Gun Legislation You will need to comply with South Afri- can legislation in order to receive a temporary import license for your firearms. We strongly recommend an advance application and will assist you with the necessary. PROCEDURE FOR TEMPORARY IMPORTATION You will need all of the following documentation. SAPS 520 complete sections D, E1 - E25.4 and G, I and J in black ink. (page 6 must be signed twice, both at end of section I and again section J) Obtain this document from Authorization for Hunters Support to act on your behalf. Obtain this document from Invitation from outfitter (We will provide, but need all details like species interested in hunting and your preferred rifles to be used.) Acceptance of Hunting Package. Obtain this document from Copy of Passport Notarized. Your passport must be valid 4 months after departure and have 2 free pages. Copy of Flight Itinerary as per your travel agent or a copy of your tickets. Road transport details - we will provide. Just provide the alternative details for the photo part of the trip. Proof of ownership US 4457 Notarized, for USA citizens - this is the most important document! Obtain this document by visiting your nearest Custom House with your firearms and passport. Export documentation, for citizens of other countries than USA or UK. Firearm licenses, for citizens of other countries. Should you choose to apply upon arrival, you will still need all the above documentation, except of course the Authorization form of Hunter s Support. Should you apply on site (not in advance) you should not sign section J of the SAPS 520 in advance, but only in front of the police officer at the firearm office at the JHB airport. Additional regulations: Firearms must bear the manufacturer s serial number or any other mark by which the firearm can be identified. The identification number must be stamped and the mark affixed in the prescribed manner on the barrel or the frame of the firearm. If marked the frame, barrel or action should be marked with the same serial number. The applicant must be 21 years or over. Please note that NO firearms will be held for safekeeping by the SAPS. If a client brings in a prohibited firearm, brings in more than what is allowed, or lacks the necessary documentation and his request for a temporary permit is denied, the involved firearms must be exported immediately by the client or voluntarily surrendered to the State. The following are not allowed for the temporary importation of firearms: (refer to and compare with Any fully automatic weapon. Any semi-automatic rifle, semi-automatic shotgun or pump-action shotgun. (A semi-automatic shotgun or/ and a pump-action shotgun may be allowed only if you apply, at least 30 days in advance before arrival, through the Central Firearms Register with motivational letters.) More that one rifle of the same caliber. More than 200 rounds of ammunition of a certain caliber. Handguns for self-defense. A Handgun specifically manufactured for hunting, may be licensed. However, this will require a 30-day advance application, accompanied by motivational letters, as well as a letter from the manufacturer. Dinaka Horseback Adventure, by Saddlebag Safari s Our tourism venture, utilizing our summer months, is still a huge success. We have once again donated a 7-day Horse Back Adventure for 2 people at Dinaka, to SCI. This will be auctioned during the convention. Value US$ 5750 Experience the thrill of riding next to rhino and giraffe or galloping with wildebeest on well loved and responsive horses, all this and more on the 20,000 acre Dinaka Game Reserve.
