Take advantage of the Zoo s EDUCATION DEPARTMENT and their vast array of programs and tours. And while you are visiting the Zoo, the MANN WILDLIFE LEARNING MUSEUM offers students an opportunity to get literally inches away from largest collection of preserved North American wildlife while learning about the importance of wildlife conservation and preservation. Animal Adaptations - Meet a variety of our educational animals from all over the world. Learn about some of the unique characteristics that enable them to survive in the wild. Animals of the Bible - Learn about animals during Biblical times and where they are found in Scripture. Colors of Survival - A power point presentation to introduce you to the wild world of patterns, behavior and camouflage. See if you can pick out the hidden animals in the audio/video presentation. (No live animals.) Birds of Prey - Meet the majestic predators of the sky! Experience the hunters and the hunted in this rare opportunity to view the perfect predator up-close and personal. Reptiles Alive - A must see. Conquer those unjust fears and misconceptions. Learn why reptiles deserve protection and respect. (Must be indoors or 75 degrees or higher to be held outdoors.) Biomes of the World - It s a trip around the world and you re invited. Venture to the far reaches and depths of the globe to discover animals in some of the wildest places! Your voyage will take you to the Grasslands, Rain Forests, Deserts, Tundra, Deciduous Forests, Oceans, and the Arctic. Includes a powerpoint presentation (no live animals). **5th graders and older only. Life in the Rainforest - Experience the uniqueness of the rain forest and the animals that call it home. Learn more about the wonderful diversity of life in the tropics and what you can do to help protect this vanishing ecosystem. Creatures of the Night - Ever wonder what kind of creatures come out when you are snug in your bed? Delve into the night life of the animal world through this exciting live animal presentation. Alabama Wildlife - What do flying squirrels, the Barred owl, and the Gopher Tortoise all have in common? They all make their home in our beautiful state of Alabama. Meet these Alabama natives and more in this presentation. Guided Zoo Tour - Learn more about the animals on exhibit at the Zoo by taking a tour with a member of the Education Department. Tours will not cover every animal in the zoo. Guided Behind the Scenes Tour - See what goes on behind those large walls and fences. See the animals night quarters and holding stalls. Chat with zookeepers and learn more about the individual animals here at the Montgomery Zoo. Design a Guided Zoo Tour - Tour the zoo with a member of the Education Department visiting animals related to a theme of your choice. Example: Endangered species, animals found in different realms such as Africa, Asia, Australia, South America or North America, carnivores, etc.. Guided Museum Tour - Tour the Mann Museum with a member of the Education Department. Learn about the animals and the history of the museum.
