They are presented in a Question and Answer format. A1-Q1) Please confirm that cleaning is 7 days a week as it says on Page 38 A1-A1) The Contractor will be required to provide daily services five days per week in most areas. Some areas specify a different frequency for cleaning, but there are no areas that requires cleaning seven days per week. Please refer below to the revised language in Section V.C.2. A1-Q2) Will the leased spaces in the UAS NSRL require cleaning too? A1-A2) Only the areas outlined in Attachment A Task Frequencies and highlighted on Attachments B and C Floor Plans require cleaning. Any other areas which may require periodic or one-time cleaning will be performed as non-routine services at the Cost Per Man Hour Rate for Unscheduled Services. A1-Q3) Who is the current janitorial contractor? A1-A3) REACH, Inc. currently has the contract to clean these facilities. A1-Q4) Approximately how many people (students/professors/others) use the building daily? A1-A4) Traffic may vary, but it is estimated that approximately 50 students and 15 staff members utilize the NSRL facility during the normal school year (fall through spring). During the summer months and winter break, traffic decreases significantly. A1-Q5) Do you have the approximate cost of janitorial supplies including paper products [used] per month or per year? A1-A5) UAS does not currently have historical usage information for supplies. Please note below the clarification concerning supplies.
2 CLARIFICATION: Page 39, Section V.D. (Supplies and Equipment): The Contractor is not required to supply paper products (i.e., paper towels, toilet paper, toilet seat liners, etc.) under this contract. UAS will provide these items, but it will be the Contractor s responsibility to obtain them from UAS and ensure that all areas in which they are required are properly stocked. All other requirements outlined in Section V.D. remain unchanged. CHANGE: Page 38, Section V.A.1. as follows: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supplies, equipment, management and supervision necessary to provide janitorial services at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) Technical Education Center, and the UAS Natural Science Research Lab, and the UAS Marine Technology Center in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions, and provisions set forth herein. ADD: Page 38, Section V.A.4. as follows: The Marine Technology Center is located at 1421 Harbor Way, Juneau, Alaska. The building consists mainly of laboratories and storage, having approximately 425 square feet of occupied space requiring services. ADD: Attachment C Marine Technology Center Floor Plan CHANGE: Page 38, Section V.C.2. as follows: Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall perform daily services (those outlined in Section V.E.1.) daily, Sunday through Saturday five days per week, beginning after 5:30pm and finishing by 6:30am each day... Note: Cleaning is not required on Sundays. Some areas specify cleaning only two, three, or four days per week, and some areas specify cleaning six times per week. REPLACE: Attachment A Task Frequencies with the attached Attachment A. This attachment reflects the addition of the Marine Technology Center. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
