1 OFFICERS ~ CONTACT INFORMATION: President: DONNY LIPPARD ~ Vice President: MIKE WILKINS ~ Treasurer: WAYNE HALL ~ Events Director: JIM PEACH ~ Secretary: GARY GARNER ~ Membership: Jake Istvanditsch ~ As I mentioned in the meeting, Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor Flora Tydings were scheduled to formally open the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Murfreesboro's Smyrna Campus and Nissan Training Center on March 31st. Chuck asked that we provide some vehicles for the event and members provided a great response. Thanks to Don Wolfe (Hellcat Charger), Mike & Jo Ann Tanner (Lil Red Express and Hellcat Challenger), Jack Stone (Dart GTS), David Denney (GTX), Scott Karns (Superbird) and Ken Martin (Duster) for supporting Chuck. EXHAUST NOTES FROM OUR CLUB PRESIDENT: Thanks again to Cary Allen for hosting the March meeting at Gateway Classic Cars. 21 members plus 5 guests attended at this Saturday club meeting. Donny addresses the attending members. Thanks to Ron Gillespie for all meeting pictures. Pictured is one of the vehicles on display in Chuck Vaughn s shop at TCAT on Do you know its identity? Hints: It is a Mopar ~ The owner is not a Music City Mopar Club member ~ L.Y. was not legally old enough to drive during its model year and the engine is a straight 8. The vehicle identity will be shared at the April Club Meeting if someone asks. More pictures from TCAT are on pages 3 and 8. In addition to supporting Chuck, members also traveled to the Big Easy Mopar Association s event where Don Wolfe, Jeremy Chenault and Mike Thomas won awards. Also, thirteen or fourteen members travelled to Chattanooga for the Cruisein on April 1 st. This year s event seemed much larger than years past. We also saw many of our Mopar friends from other clubs. As I continue to say, members are what make the Music City Mopar Club such a great organization. Membership renewals continue to trickle in and I want to welcome new members Dennis Gorrell and Russell Risley (original member #10 who joined at the March meeting). Membership now stands at 149 and climbing. 1

2 If someone has not renewed, it is not too late. Members can renew for by sending renewal dues to Music City Mopar Club, PO Box 2253, Mt. Juliet, TN , paying on our website or by paying at the club meeting. See Gary s meeting notes below for more information on club business discussed in March s meeting. I look forward to seeing you at our April club meeting at our dealership sponsor - Nashville CDJR, 5800 Crossings Blvd, Antioch, TN on Sunday, March 23rd. The meet and greet starts at 1PM followed by the meeting at 2:00. Donny P.S. I still want to hear your thoughts on topics for our how to sessions and other ways we can help share information, skills, tools, etc. with members seeking to restore or maintain their Mopar. After the business meeting, several members took time to view the vehicles on display in the Gateway Showroom. Rumor: One member and his lovely bride showed up for the 12 o clock club meeting at 1:30 pm. Hmmmmmm? MARCH MEETING NOTES: Gary Garner, Club Secretary The March meeting of the Music City Mopar Club was held at the Lavergne showroom of Gateway Classic Cars after their monthly cars & coffee event. Thanks to club member Carey Allen for arranging for us to use their facility. Please remember to visit them if you want to buy a new ride or sell your car. After approving the minutes of the February meeting the club welcomed new member Russell Risley Sr. The membership now stands at 148. The new sales contact for club members at Nashville Dodge is Joseph Newsom { }. Please keep them in mind if you are shopping for a new or used ride. Best policy is to call before visiting the dealership. Events director James Peach was not feeling well and did not attend, but he is still working on the volunteer list for the Good Guys show. If you have not helped out before, come out and enjoy the day. You will see some great cars and vendors and you will have plenty of time to check out everything. Club President Donny Lippard reported that 4 club members attended the Big Easy show in New Orleans. Don Wolfe won the "Best Undercarriage" award and Mike and Jeremy picked up sponsor awards. Stan Hardcastle reported on another good time that several members had at the Indy swap meet. If you need parts for your project, this is always one of the best events of the year. For you truck guys, there will be a vintage truck show in Leipers Fork April 8. The Cars for Kids show at the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home in Brentwood is coming up April 15. April 29 is the date for the Wings and Wheels event in Mt. Pleasant at the Maury County airport. The 2nd Southeast Moparty Picnic is fast approaching. There will be things going on both Friday May 12 and Saturday May 13. Please contact James Peach if you plan on attending either day. Several members are planning to go down on Friday to attend the cruise to Coker Tire and the drag racing later in the day. This should be a fun event that will continue to grow. As for our show, both Tim Welborn and Herb McCandless are planning to attend. Hopefully nothing will keep them from joining us. We have some new show flyers. If you want some to distribute at the cruise-in's and shows that you attend, please pick some up at the next meeting. Unless we come up with another meeting place, we will try to meet at 2

3 Nashville Dodge April 23rd. Cruise-in and show season are here, so bring those Mopars out and show our Music City Mopar Pride. We will see you at the shows and the next meeting.
