5 Stoke Mandeville National Spinal Injury Centre is an international centre of excellence, at the forefront of educational and research & development in all matters relating to spinal cord injury TELECARE The International Centre of Excellence in Telecare (ICE-T) aims to encourage & support private sector opportunities in telecare in understanding the needs of fragile individuals, especially chronic conditions, disability & spinal injuries. The Stoke Mandeville ICE-T programme is intended to leverage support and funding for collaborative R & D projects to develop prototype Assisted Living/Telecare products and services for home settings in support of fragile individuals. Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Bucks 2012 PARALYMPICS From establishing the Paralympic movement with the Stoke Mandeville Games for Wheelchair Athletes, Stoke Mandeville continues to build on its global brand and reputation for innovation in treatment and rehabilitation. Stoke Mandeville Stadium has been selected as a training camp for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and is host to regular international sporting competitions.
6 Telecare is the use of information, communication and sensor technologies to enable the delivery of health and social support to people to help them live as independently as possible in the lowest intensity care setting consistent with their needs and wishes
