There is no upper age limit. All players must hold a full licence of one of the following governing bodies BJA, JudoScotland, WJA, NIJF, BJC, AJA or an organisation affiliated to the EJU or IJF. 3 { CONTEST LEVEL HELP SHEET} 0 {LEVEL 1} ( Good level player) This judoka can train and compete with mainstream players. This competitor has a good understanding of the meaning and goal of the competition. (CRITERIA: This judoka is very capable of taking part in competition). LEVEL 2 ( Medium-good level player) This judoka can train and take part in randori with mainstream players. This judoka mostly understands the meaning and goal of the competition. (CRITERIA: This judoka is capable of taking part in competition). LEVEL 3 (Medium level player) This judoka can take part in training with mainstream players but only competes in special competitions with competitors of the same level. CRITERIA: This judoka understands the rules, meaning and goal of the competition.) LEVEL 4 ( Medium-weak level player) This judoka may only be capable of taking part in special training and competitions. This judoka needs guiding during the competition but generally understands the rules and goal of a competition. 7 Parking ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Currently, car parking at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium is free. However, this may change. Venue Stoke Mandeville Stadium is serviced by the following: Rail Head The nearest railway station is, which is 1 mile away (a minute walk). Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi this can be booked in advance. Bus routes from Station: Routes 9, 50, 55, 300 & 786 all service Stoke Mandeville. Ask the driver for the stop oustide Stoke Mandeville Stadium. Further information Luton Airport is 44 minutes by road and 2hrs 6min by train, Heathrow is 1hr by road and 1hr 40min by train. Stansted is 1hr 5min by road and Birmingham 1hr 21min by road. Train time from King's Cross / St. Pancras to is 1hr 44 min. In 1944, at the request of the British Government, Dr. Ludwig Guttmann opened a spinal injuries centre at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital. On the day of the opening ceremony of the 1948 London Olympics, Dr Guttmann organised the first Stoke Mandeville Games for wheelchair athletes. In 1952 the inclusion of Dutch ex-military athletes turned the Games into the International Stoke Mandeville Games. In 1960 the first Paralympics were held in Rome with 400 athletes from 23 countries. In the Rio 2016 Paralympics there were 4,342 Athletes representing 159 countries. And to think, it all started at Stoke Mandeville. 7

9 PACKED LUNCHES: Due to circumstances beyond our control we cannot provide packed lunches this year. Stoke Mandeville Stadium has a very good café serving sandwiches snacks and light meals. There is also a large supermarket 0.5 miles (0.8km) away on the opposite side of the hospital from the stadium. 9
