2 The Midland Area Heart of England Open Judo Championships 2009 The Heart of England Age Band Championships for Young Men & Women (4 Star) ~ Points Scoring The Senior Heart of England for Men And Women (4 Star) ~ Points Scoring Venue: NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA BIRMINGHAM Date: SUNDAY 6 TH SEPTEMBER 2009 Eligibility: Competitors must hold a current BJA licence or a current licence of an affiliated association. Overseas entrants must have a letter of authority from their National Governing Body (I.J.F. Member). Method of Elimination: Compound Knockout and Repechage Categories of less than 8 competitors will be Pools & Knockout Categories will be fought through to finals, medals will be presented throughout the day, after each age band has been completed Weigh In SATURDAY 5 TH SEPTEMBER AT THE NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA. ALL SENIOR COMPETITORS MEN AND WOMEN MUST WEIGH IN ON SATURDAY EVENING 6.00PM PM AT THE NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA. SUNDAY 6 TH SEPTEMBER AT THE NATIONAL INDOOR ARENA. Unofficial/Test Weigh: 7:30am 8:00am Young Men & Women Age Band B (Born ): 8:00am 9:00am Young Men & Women Age Band D (Born ): 10.30am 11:00am Young Men & Women Age Band C (Born ): 12.30pm 1:30pm Rules a) BJA contest rules will be operative throughout the event. All other regulations regarding the event will be in accordance with The BJA tournament handbook. b) Medallists must wear Judogi during the medal presentations c) Competitors must wear suitable footwear at all times when off the mat. d) Points scoring~ Seniors & Youth where appropriate. e) First player called for a contest may a blue or white suit. Players wearing a white suit must wear a blue belt. Players wearing a blue suit may wear their grade belt. Players must provide their own belts f) Senior Players must be aged over 14 years of age and hold a Senior Licence g) Players may, if eligible, enter both the Senior Championships & Youth Championships. h) Any rules incorporated after the issue of this entry form will also apply Entry Fees Players Youth Seniors Spectators Adults Children & OAP 5.00 Family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) Group booking (1 adult & 10 children under 16 years) SPECTATORS FEES ARE ONLY PAYABLE ON THE DAY BY CASH. 6 COACH ARENA PASS APPLICATION FORM The BJA Midland Area committee has made special entry arrangements with the national indoor arena management for coaches entry to the arena floor. If a coach wishes to be allowed access to the arena floor whilst his/her players are participating, the following rules must be observed: 1. Include 4.00 entrance fee with the completed application form. 2. Send one (1) passport photograph, photocopy of your coach accreditation card, and a stamped addressed envelope to the address below. Note: any coach not in possession of an official coach badge will have to pay to enter the national indoor arena as a spectator at a cost of This will not allow access to arena floor NO PASSES WILL BE ISSUED EITHER ON THE SATURDAY EVENING OR SUNDAY MORNING. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULING. PHOTOGRAPHY PASS APPLICATION FORM IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL COACHES WHO HAVE PLAYERS COMPETING & TO SPECTATORS WHO WISH TO USE ANY FORM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT AT THE 2009 HEART OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS Note the use of Mobile Phones for Photographic purposes is NOT permitted at Midland Area events Normal spectators entry fee is 9 and only allows access to the spectator seating and the concourse level. A photography pass does not allow the holder free access to the arena, indeed it does not allow any access to the arena floor. Spectators wishing to use any form of photographic equipment must enter via the box office, and either complete the application form below and send it together with a stamped addressed envelope however, there will application forms available on entry to the NIA via the box office.
