1 2019 Grand Prix Selection Procedures Rostock, Germany Calgary, Canada TBA, USA (Dependent upon funding) DETERMINATION OF TEAM PARTICIPATION 1/ If a diver accepts an invitation to compete at the USA Grand Prix he/she will not be eligible for the Canada Cup however will remain eligible for the Rostock Grand Prix Team. 2/Eligible divers may compete at both the Rostock Grand Prix and the Canada Cup. 3/Determination of the final team composition, including staff will be made by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. Team size will be based upon availability of funding and upon the acceptance by athletes of an invitation to participate. 4/An invitation to participate will contain a specific reply date by which the invitation must be accepted or declined. Failure of an athlete to accept the invitation by the reply date will deem to be a declination of the invitation. April 2019 USA Grand Prix The above FINA Grand Prix event will be selected from the 2018 Winter Trials in Atlanta, GA and will include the 2018 World Cup Team (Olympic Events Only). The 2019 USA Grand Prix Team will be comprised of up to four (4) individuals per Olympic event, up to two (2) synchro teams per Olympic event and one (1) mixed synchro team per event. 1/ Individual Events: 1.1 Members of the 2018 World Cup Team in individual events shall be named to the 2019 USA Grand Prix Team in their respective World Cup individual event(s), provided they participate in that event(s) at the 2018 Winter Trials (unless excused by the High Performance Director).
2 The remaining individuals per event will be selected as follows: 1.2 The top two (2) ranked divers in cumulative score total over two (2) lists, not already named to the USA Grand Prix team, who finish in the top eight (8) in each individual Olympic event at the 2018 Winter Trials will be selected to the USA Grand Prix team. 1.3 If one or more of the World Cup Team divers in each individual Olympic event chooses not to accept the invitation to compete at the 2019 USA Grand Prix, then the next ranked individual may be selected to the team provided they finish within the top eight (8) at the 2018 Winter Trials. 1.4 If no divers within the top eight (8) in each individual event accepts the invitation, the entries will then be decided by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. The event may remain unfilled if it is determined to not be in the best interest of Team USA. 2/ Olympic Synchronized Events: 2.1 Members of the 2018 USA World Cup Team in the Olympic synchro events shall be named to the 2019 USA Grand Prix Team in their respective World Cup Olympic synchronized event(s), provided they participate in that event with their World Cup partner at the 2018 Winter Trials (unless excused by the High Performance Director). The remaining synchro teams per event will be selected as follows: 2.2 The top ranked synchro team in cumulative score total over two (2) lists, not already named to the USA Grand Prix team, who finish within the top four (4) of each Olympic synchro event at the 2018 Winter Trials will be selected for the USA Grand Prix. 2.3 If the World Cup Team in any Olympic synchro event chooses not to stay together or not accept the invitation to compete at the 2019 USA Grand Prix, then the next ranked synchro team may be selected, provided they finish in the top four (4) at the 2018 Winter Trials. 2.4 A diver may compete with a maximum of two partners at the 2018 Winter Trials in 2.5 If no teams within the top four (4) in each synchro event accepts the invitation, the entries will then be decided by the High Performance Director in consultation with the

The event may remain unfilled if it is determined to not be in the best interest of Team USA. 3/ Mixed Synchronized Events: 3.1 The top ranked mixed synchro team who finishes within the top four (4) of each mixed synchro event at the 2018 Winter Trials will be selected for the USA Grand Prix. 3.2 If the top ranked mixed synchro team does not accept the invitation to compete at the 2019 USA Grand Prix, then the next ranked mixed synchro team will be selected, provided they finish in the top four (4) at the 2018 Winter Trials. 3.3 A diver may compete with a maximum of two partners at the 2018 Winter Trials in 3.4 If no team within the top four (4) in each mixed synchro event accepts the invitation, the entries will then be decided by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. The event may remain unfilled if it is determined to not be in the best interest of Team USA. FEBRUARY 2019 ROSTOCK, GERMANY The above FINA Grand Prix event will be selected from the 2018 Winter Trials in Atlanta, GA from December 16-21, The Rostock team will be comprised of up to four (4) individuals in each Olympic event and one (1) synchro team per synchro event. 1/ Individual Events: 1.1 Up to the top four (4) ranked divers in cumulative score total over two (2) lists who finish in the top eight (8) in each individual Olympic event at the 2018 Winter Trials will be considered for the Rostock Grand Prix team. 1.2 If an invitation is turned down, then the next best ranked diver within the top eight (8) will be considered. 1.3 If entries are not filled by the top eight (8) divers in each individual event, the entries will be decided by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. REPLACEMENT ATHLETES (all the above events) 1/ If an athlete withdraws due to injury/illness, then the next best ranked diver or synchro team from the 2018 Winter Trials will be considered provided they meet the selection criteria. 2/ Replacement athletes may be added up to two (2) weeks prior to departure for each of the Grand Prix meets unless there are extenuating circumstances. 3/ The addition of replacement athletes, before or after the deadline, will be determined by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. The position may remain unfilled if it is determined to not be in the best interest of Team USA. COACH/TEAM LEADER SELECTION (all the above events) Coach Selection is dependent on team size, available funding and coach s availability. 1/ Select the coach with the greatest number of spots (Individual Olympic events and synchronized events are one spot per diver) a. If there is a tie, select the coach with the greatest number of athletes. b. If a tie still exists, select the coach with the lowest aggregate (Rank the divers by adding up the ranking positions i.e. 1 st place + 2 nd place= 3 and select the coach with the lowest number). c. If a tie still exists, the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE, will select the coach believed to best serve the needs of Team USA. 2/ Selection of the team leader will be made by the High Performance Director in consultation with the CCE. In the event that a team does not have a team leader, then the selected head coach will also serve as team leader.
7 Selection procedures for other FINA Grand Prix meets will be set a later date.
