4 PAGE 4 THE PLINKER MARCH 2017 Soggy Groundhog Sees No Shadow February 2017 Muzzle Loading Match Report Preparations happened on Friday afternoon in intermittent showers with more rain on Saturday February 4 th, the day of our muzzleloader match. There was simply no chance for shadows to be seen which just meant more wet paper targets to score with the scorekeepers fortified by hot coffee. Seven Free Trappers arrived to enjoy this showery shooting day. The match saw shooting with rifles and pistols. Target theme was ground hogs (or gophers) with challenging targets to test the shooters skills. After a brief shooters meeting, Booshway Roy Williams was on hand to recruit more assistance for trail guides for Rain-Dee-Voo. He was a non-shooter and worked on the tomahawk trail with Scott Isom to get the trail in order for the event. Good shooting proceeded with target scoring assistance from Tom Brown. The luck targets winners for the day; the X target was won by Adam Sampson while the gopher head was won by Bob DeLisle. Individual skills rewarded with pistols went to; 1 st -Mike Nesbitt, 2 nd - Adam Sampson, and 3 rd -Rowland Zoller. The top three with their rifles were; 1 st -Rowland Zoller, 2 nd - Jerry Mayo, 3 rd - Bob DeLisle. Aggregate placings were; 1 st - Adam Sampson, 2 nd -Mike Nesbitt, 3 rd -Rowland Zoller, 4 th -Bob DeLisle, 5 th -Tim Sampson 6 th -Ralph Birmingham, and 7 th -Jerry Mayo. Immediate future activity is the Evergreen Muzzleloaders match next Saturday, February 11 th, 2017 starting at 0900 or earlier due to coincidence with the Evergreen Sportsman s Club annual meeting. This match will be for rifles with blanket prizes needed to participate in the aggregate blanket. The Evergreen Muzzleloaders have received their hat pins which were available at the site today and they are quite handsome, well done additions to the shooters garb. Our next muzzle -loading match will be on Saturday, March 4 th, Bob Gietz

6 PAGE 6 THE PLINKER MARCH yard gong Solution I have mentioned the problem with the 200 yard gong on the High Power Range. Between Mark, Me and the Board here is what we came up with. We have already installed a new stand at 200 yards. The club now has on sale 200 yards gongs. You may purchase one through yours truly. You can then use it at your leisure and blast away at your hearts content. They are hard steel with chain. Right now they are at my house. I may move them later. The price is $40. I am around during the week a lot. Will Ulry Board Meeting Night Changed Here is a real happening. The board has changed the meeting night. From now till next time the Gun Club meetings will be the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 at the same old club meeting room. We had a grand conversation about this during the discussions of the By Laws with no decision. But at the December meeting I made a motion and it was changed. Fridays were always a bugger for me being a Tumwater football fan. This date is still not set in stone but just maybe a few of you folks can make a meeting now and again. They are open to all. Your input is important to us. Will CAPIT OL CIT Y RIF L E & PIST OL CLUB PO BOX 3832 L ACEY W A 98509
