Hudson Rod, Gun & Archery Club Board Meeting Minutes October 1, 2012 Old Business 1. No old business discussed New Business 1. With the appointment of Teal to the board, Mark went over the ending date of each board member. Craig, Bob, and Cal board terms expire April of 2013 Mark, Jeff and Teal board terms expire April of 2014 Rick, Don, and Mike board terms expire April of Empty Brass. It is the responsibility of the shooters on the pistol and rifle ranges to clean up their brass after shooting. Any brass not wanted by the shooter or cleaned up by the range safety officers shall be placed in the containers on the range and become the property of the club. Shooters are allowed to keep their own brass. Any brass that is not wanted by the shooter or is left on the range is the property of the club. Shotgun shooters are allowed to pick up their empties after the round is over providing it is safe to do so and they are not delaying the next group from starting to shoot. Empties that are left on the range and then picked up by the trap help become the property of the gun club 3. Score sheets for the high school trap teams. Next March when the high school trap teams start they will their own score sheets. This should make it easier to score all of the sheets.

3 4. Individual annual memberships. A motion was made by Don and seconded by Rick, the motion carried, stating that annual memberships are paid before starting to shoot trap and skeet leagues. It is the responsibility of the league secretaries to ensure this takes place. 5. Mike gave the board a list of items he would like added to the budget for next year. From that list a motion was made by Don and seconded by Bob to purchase automatic flushers for the urinals in the men s restroom for an amount not to exceed $ Motion carries. 6. Special shoot scheduled for October 12, Rental costs and details need to be finalized. Board meeting dates for the rest of this year: November 5, 2012 December 3, 2012 Membership Meeting. The next membership meeting will be: October 9, 2012 Hudson Rod, Gun & Archery Club Membership Meeting Minutes October 9, 2012 Old Business 1. There was a discussion about range rules and which one do we follow. We said that the white book was what we give members when they sign up and that those were the ones to follow. Then it was mentioned that the white book was not a complete list. White book does not address barrel flags or rapid fire. One of the other lists of rules says no rapid fire. It was suggested that we add a sticker to the back of the books for any additions or state that this is not a complete list of rules and have more extensive rules listed on the ranges and in the club house. 2. Hull Recycling. Contract was sent in. We have not received anything from the company at this time. New Business 1. We need to have Zappa come in and push up dirt on the 50 yard rifle range before sight in days begin. Mike will follow up on this. Committee Reports 1. No reports at this time. The next membership meeting is November 13. The meal will be served starting at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30. 4 All Inclusive WI/MN/UT/FL Carry Class $100 Bob Amey will be holding a Carry Classes on 11/10, 12/8/12 and 1/5/2013. Each class provides ALL of the training needed for permits from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Utah and Florida for a $ training fee and you re all done in one day. Utah continues to be a good choice for WI residents as it offers reciprocity with 34 states including MN and Utah recently dropped it s price to $51.00 for the first 5 years and $15.00 for each 5 year renewal. That s only $96.00 for 34 states for 20 years. UTAH Certification is included in ALL of Bob s Classes.!!!ATTENTION!!! We need your contribution Please sign up to help. Mike has put a binder together with work projects in them. It has different sections in it for maintenance projects, cleaning, RSO's, mowing, Trap & Skeet scorers, painting, trim work, cleaning and outside club maintenance. The binders will be kept on the table by the bulletin board. You will need 8 work hours in for the year to get the discounted membership. This not only reduces your membership cost but also improves your club. Membership Meeting Help: We need to have some cooks bring up their favorite recipes. There are some meals that are yearly classics. In November we have the Venison Feed, February is the Boiled Fish Dinner and March is Corned Beef and Cabbage. The months and dates for the meetings are: November 13th January 8th March 12th December 11th February 12th April 9th Signup by the Bar if you would like to cook a meal. We need the names of the cooks as well as the meal so I can get it in the newsletter. Please get a date secured as soon as possible.

5 OOPS REMINDER The dates in the Club Calendar for November Sight in Day's are not correct. The correct dates for November are November 3rd & 4th November 10th & 11th Sight in Day's This is open to the public. Pass the word on to family, friends and acquaintances because this is also an important fund-raising activity for our Club. The November dates are; Nov. 3rd-4th. Nov. 10th-11th. TIME; 9:00A.M 4:00P.M. COST: Members = $3/Gun. Nonmembers = $7/Gun. The Rod and Gun Rifle Shooters offer expert help for you to accurately sight in your gun on a sandbagged benchrest. Fresh coffee provided. Contact Jim Strandquist at for further details about sight-in days. Club phone NOTE: The Pistol Range will be available for use however the Rifle Range will be reserved for sight in work. Crossbows now OK for use with certain hunting licenses 2011 Act 252 expands the types of weapons that may be used under the authority of the regular (gun) deer, elk, spring and fall wild turkey, small game, and Class A bear hunting licenses, to include the use of a crossbow, and in the case of the regular (gun) deer license, the authority to use a bow and arrow. It is no longer a requirement that a person must be at least 65 years old or be disabled and hold a crossbow permit in order to hunt with crossbow under the authority of any of these licenses. This new authorization took effect on April 21, What has not changed is the type of weapons authorized for hunting under the archery hunting license. A crossbow still can only be used to hunt deer or small game under an archery license by a person who has attained the age of 65 or who holds a permit that authorizes the use of a crossbow.
