2 DEER HARVESTS RESULTS by Larry McNew As the first segment of the 2015 archery season closes, there are numerous successful hunt reports from members. This is the best we have seen since this contest began. Travis Gavin took two nice bucks in the Northern Zone. Both of his bucks are the largest ever entered in the deer contest for the Northern Zone. Larry Laboe scored a nice 9pt on October 18th in the Southern Zone. Travis Gavin Chris Chesney arrowed a 172 lb, 8pt the night of October 27th. Remember that it is not only the largest antlerd deer that can win, but also the heavest buck and doe from each zone. The contest runs untill January 1, 2016 so there is plenty of time left to score that big one. Hopefully, after the gun season, I ll receive more reports from members who start hunting again. Larry Laboe Chris Chesney NOTE ABOUT WORK PROJECTS by Karl Keese Many of the ongoing projects at Lincoln Bowmen are not necessarily for today s membership but for the members of the future. Lincoln Bowmen is known for being a family oriented club, one that places great value on our children. Projects like the pine grove, the small fruit orchard, the building improvements, etc. are for the Little Buckaroo s, Lil Campers, Peanut, Junior, Lil Meme, Johnny s and Susie s. Some of my best childhood memories include Lincoln Bowmen, running around thinking I was the best shot in the world as my father and his friends encouraged me. Of course this was many, many years ago but thinking back to what the club was then and what it is now, the dynamics are the same; family, friends and fun. The changes are obvious, we have improved physical structures, the buildings and grounds; none of these changes could be possible without help. We depend on our members to contribute, not so much monetarily but with personal time, expertise or willingness to get a little dirty; by working the events and fundraisers that keep our dues at a minimum. Members work alongside other members that have the same desire, to keep the club moving forward. It s not for us, but for the Lil Peanuts and Buckaroos, that hopefully will be doing the same for their little one s many, many years from now.. 2

3 OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORK HOURS ADVERTISING Work Parties Karl Keesee, our Vice President, coordinates a work party on Saturdays, 9AM - approximately Noon, and can certainly give a member plenty of work to do. Club Events Special club events, such as Breakfast with Santa and the Wild Game Dinner, can only be successful with member assistance and participation. Breakfast with Santa is scheduled for December 5, 2015 and the Wild Game Dinner February 20, Contact Sherry Lance and Scott Rhind, respectively for work details. Club Cleaning All Board members volunteer to do the cleaning inside the club house. They would love to have help keeping the restrooms clean, the range swept, tables and kitchen clean, trash empty, etc. BOD Club Cleaning List November 1st half Scott Rhind 2nd half Jim Mende December 1st half Karl Keese 2nd half Angel Elliot 3D Shoots 3D shoots are held each month from January through September. Help is always needed with setup, cleanup and running the shoots. Watch the calendar for shoot dates. Contact Ben Phillips to volunteer. Other Shoots Lincoln Bowmen is hosting a MET Indoor Fita shoot January 16 and 17, Line times are Saturday, at 3pm and 7pm, and Sunday, at 10am and 2pm. If you would like to help with this shoot please contact Sherry Lance at (313)

4 SWEATSHIRT ORDER by Angel Elliott We will be making a large sweatshirt order for the Lincoln Bowmen YAP and would like to extend it to the entire club. The order form, found on the following page, can be used for your order. Leave the order form and check in the office with Angel s information (found below) or bring up on any Saturday between 8:00am - 1:00pm and drop it off with her. Contact Angel Elliott with any questions at: angelmabelitini@gmail.com cell: (313) THANK YOU by Karl Keese I wanted to thank all the people that donated corn, apples, pumpkins and carrots to feed our friends here at Lincoln Bowmen. Some people even brought a few bales of straw out for them to bed down on. I also want to thank everyone for doing their best to obey the 10 MPH speed limit. Many of you have seen our friends on the side, or even the middle, of the drive as you come into the club. The speed limit is there to help keep no only our fury friends safe but our kids too. I hope each and everyone of you has a great Thanksgiving and hope to see you soon. WILD GAME DINNER by Karl Keese The Lincoln Bowmen Annual Wild Game Dinner will be held on Saturday, February 20, The club is in need of wild game donations for our dinner. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated. We are in need of all types of game such as elk, moose, antelope, buffalo, caribou, perch, walleye and pheasant. Small and large amounts will help. If you have any of these or know of a source that might, please contact Larry Thorn at (734) or Scott Rhind at (734)
