1 Harper Valley News H A R P E R V A L L E Y H U N T I N G C L U B 06 Volume 9 05 Season Recap The total deer harvest for 05 was 6 deer, 8 doe and 8 bucks. The doe harvest was the lowest in recorded club history breaking last years record low. The buck harvest was one of the best for the Club. Several real good bucks were taken, numerous / year olds and a couple of 5 / year old bucks. A complete listing of all deer harvested in 05 is included in this newsletter with data on the deer age, weights, tract of land killed and scoring on the bucks. The deer harvest data collected was complied and analyzed by Hunter Pruitt of QDMA. Hunter aged the deer based on the jawbones collected. There were several deer harvested that the weights were not recorded in the log book and several jawbones were not turned in. Each member that harvests a deer most record all the data as required and turn in the deer jawbone. Also included here is a compilation of the deer observation data taken from the observation sheets and booklets turned in. This year more observation reports were turned in than ever before, but we still need as close to 00% as possible in order to get a good estimation of our deer population. 0 Big Buck Winner The winner of the Big Buck contest for bucks killed in the 0 season was Dennis Castleberry. Dennis buck scored 07 5/8 BC points. Congratulations Dennis on a fine buck! 05 Gift Card Drawing The club drawing was for a $500 Gift Card. The drawing was won by Bernie McCart. Congratulations Bernie! New Officers and Board of Directors Members Mark Loudermilk was voted in as Vice-President at the end of the 05 season. Mark replaces Steve Dye. We thank Steve for his work as V-P for the 05 season. Each year one of the members of the Board of Directors rotates off and a Club member is voted onto the Board. This past year we had two members leave the Board, Brian Ruggerio and Stephanie Ferguson. Thank you to Brian and Stephanie for your years of service. Bernie McCart and Kevin Castleberry were voted to join the board this year. The current roster of Board of Directors is Scooter Ferguson-President, Scott Power-Secretary/Treasurer, Mark Loudermilk-Vice President, Phillip Power, Dennis Castleberry, Daniel Fogg, Don Holcombe, Randy Owens, Bernie McCart and Kevin Castleberry. Chip Milton remains as the Sergeant-At-Arms. Opening Day Club Meeting All members who are in camp on Opening Day are required to attend this meeting. The meeting will begin at :00 PM in the Clubhouse. By-Laws and Rules Clarifications and Changes HVLII Property Harvest: Kids (6 year old and under), Handicap hunters and Female hunters that have never killed a deer may take one doe on the Camp property.
