1 HEMLOCK NEWS November CLUB NEWS: SPRING SOCIAL Non Smoking Tickets $ ID required More Details to come. Sandy Krum says THANK YOU to the workers who installed the ramp! Anonymous nonmembers have stated that the ramp is an improvement that impacts everyone. THANK YOU to Dave Peterson and all the Hunter Education Gentlemen for the help in setting up the tables and chairs for Bingo. The Board of Directors was made aware of some items missing from the club and damage to club property, and is in the process of adding some additional security measures. The club will be closed Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1PM 5PM for a private party. MEETING MINUTES: Officers and Directors Slate for December 11, 2012 Election: President: Dirk Reifsnyder Vice President: Rick Conley Secretary: Sherry Cassel Treasurer: Directors: Adam Hain, Bob Altrath, Tony Shutter, Don Greiner and Irv Keller At the November 13, 2012 General Meeting the following motions were made: Don Greiner made a motion that doing the hours of the Monthly General Hemlock Meeting the shooting range will be open. The motion was unanimously approved by the Club members. Andy Nelson made a motion for Hemlock Club to be a Non- Smoking Facility. The motion was unanimously approved by the Club members. (Smoking is designated for the porch area.) NEW MEMBERS: Troy Styer, Steven Finkel, Anthony Martin Christopher Fisher, Richard Werni, Brian McKenna

2 HEMLOCK WORK HOURS- HUNTING PRIVELEGES are only for those members who have fulfilled the 15 HOUR Hemlock work requirement each calendar year. 15 Hours for the 2013 Hunting Season Passes The 15 Work Hour Year will be from October 1st of the current year till September 30th of the next year Your name must appear clearly in the work hour book along with the date and number of hours worked for that day. The flowing list provides ways to accumulate Work Hours: **Scheduled Workdays ** Assist with setting up and tearing down for all shoots ** Working in the club kitchen at scheduled events ** Signing up for the Manheim Fair Food Trailer ** Assisting with Bingo Events ** Assisting with Club Breakfast Events ** Outdoor Maintenance grass cutting, etc. ** Assisting with Smoker and Dance Events JOAD NEWS JOAD team fundraiser at Tractor Supply Co, along Rt 72, Lebanon. Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 10 AM -2 PM was a SUCCESS THANKS to Nate and Lauren Trovinger asking people if they wanted a hot dog or baked goods to support the Hemlock JOAD Team. $170 in donations will go towards new arrows and supplies for the new bows. SPECIAL THANKS to Scott and Jen Trovinger, Terri Emler, Heather Lengel, Debbie Curtain, Laureen Quarry, Kelly Bell and anonymous donors for making the day possible. New this year is a free intro to archery for compound shooters. Compound JOAD The very first intro to archery class for compound bows was held on Thursday nights through the entire month of October. We had 12 kids sign up and go through the course, which was instructed by Rick Conley, Larry Miller and Dirk Reifsnyder. The following young ladies and gentlemen completed the course with great improvement from the first class:

3 Zach Fisher, Josh Werni, Hunter Voight, James Voight, Vaughn Daubert, Sean Reifsnyder, Aiden McKenna, Dakota Miller, Logan Sholley, Anna, Sierra Reich, and Payton Takoch. A majority of the kids signed up for the compound intro to archery class have elected to move forward, and will participate in Hemlocks New JOAD Compound division. The new Compound class will meet on Saturday s starting November PM. We will strive to have some of the kids participate in the upcoming invitational as well as FITA shoots and PA state and regional competitions. Hemlock Field Archers wishes our young archers the best of luck. The JOAD GRANT monies purchased 18 Recurve bows and additional equipment. FARM SHOW NEWS: MANHEIM FARM SHOW: KUDOS to Andy Nelson, Rick and Brenda Conley, Rick Diffenderfer, Don Greiner, Lou Shkreli and Irv Keller for the hours given to make the Manheim Farm Show Food Stand a SUCCESS for Hemlock. 4 Sunday, September, 16 th Bingo players brought NEW Baby Blankets, Bibs, and Booties for extra Bingo Cards which benefited Lebanon Family Health. THANK YOU for your generous support to the WIC program. Sunday, October 21 st Bingo Lynn Snead, Executive Director of DVI, car was filled to the top with paper towels, toilet tissue, napkins, coffee, shampoo, antibacterial hand soap, etc brought by the Bingo players for extra Bingo cards. 5 Hemlock Field Archers Sponsor a Target Program Many of our field course targets are in need of replacements. In an ongoing effort to improve our archery club and instill pride of our range, we are offering SPONSOR A TARGET to assist us with our pursuit of being the best archery only club in Pennsylvania. For a SPONSORSHIP of $100.00/year, Hemlock Field Archers would recognize that sponsorship with a plaque attached to the target as well as displaying business cards in the club house and posting your name as a SPONSOR on our web site. Hemlock Field Archers runs league and special shoots throughout the year. As well as belonging to the Penn Dutch Field Archery and Bow Hunter 3D League s. Hemlock Field Archers also has a Junior Olympic Archery Division (JOAD) program. Archery Instruction is also offered from age 8 to 108!
