8 Junior Age Divisions Competitive age for junior events is determined by the athlete s age as of 12/31/2013. Futures*: Ages 5-6 Under 11: Ages 7-10 Under 14: Ages Under 16: Ages Under 18: Ages Under 20: Ages Under 23: Ages with the exception of Weightlifting which is *Dixie Futures Events will include: 20m, 60m, softball, sponge discus, & turbo javelin The Events Archery: Boccia: Classes AR1, AR2, and AR3. Athletes MUST provide their own bows and arrows. Open to all athletes Field Events: Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Club Throw Track Events: 8-Lane, Mondo track. Events: 20M, 60M, 100M, 200M, 400M, 800M, 1500M, 5000M Track will run on a timed schedule. Schedule will be provided at registration/packet pick-up. Swimming: Indoor, 8-lane, 25M Short Course, Fully Automatic Timing. Event Order: 25, 50, 100, 200m Free, Back, Butterfly and Breast; 75, 100, 150, 200m IM, Relays Table Tennis: Open Singles and Open Doubles will be contested for classifications TT1-TT10. Athletes MUST provide their own paddles. Weightlifting: Power and Bench Press will be contested. Wheelchair Fencing: Epée and Foil

9 Sport Rules The rules for each US NGB will be enforced during all events. All competitors are expected to know the rules of each sport in which they compete. The honest effort rule will be in effect for the Dixie Games. In other words, if the Referee determines that an athlete intentionally missed an event without scratching the night before at the coaches meeting and does not have a medical reason for scratching, he/she can be disqualified from all remaining events in that sport. Equipment Helmets will be required for all wheelchair track events for juniors. Adults are required to wear helmets for race distances of 800M and above. Athletes will be expected to bring their own helmets for track; bows & arrows for archery; table tennis paddles, etc. Field implements will be provided by Dixie Games. Registration An athlete summary form to confirm your registration and what is missing will be ed to you. All items must be resolved prior to check-in for the event. All athletes must be checked-in during times outlined on the final event schedule in this packet or they will not be eligible to compete unless prior arrangements have been made. Athletes may be checked in by their coaches. Events will be heated based on classification, age division, gender, and qualifying times. Due to limited numbers in some events various classifications and age group athletes may be heated together if qualifying times are competitive in order to expedite the running of the competition. However, placements will be based on classification, age and gender where applicable. Athletes can participate in a maximum of 7 individual swimming events with only 1 IM event allowed. When reporting to registration check-in coaches/athletes will be expected to verify by initialing each athlete s events, classification, date of birth, and gender. THIS IS YOUR LAST OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE CORRECTIONS UNLESS IT IS THE ERROR OF THE LOC. Medical Forms Everyone must submit the attached medical form to be completed by the parent or athlete (if 18 years or older). These forms will be provided to the staff covering medical.

10 Dress Code All athletes will be expected to dress according to the rules of competition. It is the responsibility of each athlete to know the dress code for each event in which they wish to compete. Failure to comply could result in possible DQ according to National Governing Body rules. Protest A protest procedure will be in effect for the Dixie Games. A $25 filing fee will be required when submitting the protest. Protests must be submitted according to the appropriate sport rules. This filing fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld or the fee will be forfeited if the protest is declined. IPC licensed athletes who wish to protest an athletics ruling must abide by IPC protest rules. A protest fee of 200 euro must be submitted with the IPC protest form. Conduct The Local Organizing Committee reserves the right to withdraw an athlete from further competition for profanity, abusive behavior or other inappropriate conduct. Absolutely no alcohol or tobacco is to be used in the competition area by athletes, coaches, support staff, parents, or spectators. Results/Awards A certificate of official results for each athlete and the entire results will be ed to the coaches the week following the competition. In addition the final results will be posted on the website. Spirit of Excellence Awards will be mailed to male and female, adult and junior athletes for each sport at the conclusion of the Dixie Games. Selection is based upon effort, sportsmanship, knowledge of the sport, and being a role model. Transportation and Equipment Storage Each team/individual will be responsible for their own ground transportation between the airport, hotels and venue sites. Equipment storage will not be available during the event.

11 Weather Concerns Atlanta could be hot in May! Daytime temperatures can rise above 90 degrees during mid-day. Humidity levels can be as high creating very uncomfortable conditions. Bring a hat with you, limit your time in the sun, and drink plenty of fluids. The LOC will provide appropriate shade for staging and plenty of water. Some sunscreen will be available at the medical tent. Water will be available at all competition venues, please bring your own water bottle to refill. Head of delegations should plan to bring or purchase shade tents for their individual teams. Restrooms Accessible restrooms will be available at each venue. Catheter bags are to be emptied in the restrooms only. Due to the heat and humidity athletes are expected to bag and tie their disposable hygiene items prior to disposing of them in the waste receptacles. Medical Assistance During the Games the LOC will provide basic assistance relating to situations that come under the category of "First Aid". Medical kits will be on site therefore if you, or if you know of someone, requiring First Aid assistance please inform the staff situated at the Games HQ at your facility. Please note in matters of emergency please do not hesitate in dialing 911 and requesting the arrival of the appropriate services.
