1 2017 VIRGIN AUSTRALIA SUPERCARS CHAMPIONSHIP RACES 23 & 24 MSNZ PERMIT NUMBER: SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS FOR SUPERCARS CHAPTER 1 - STANDARD REQUIREMENTS 1.1 EVENT TITLE, DATE & VENUE The Event will be known as the ITM Auckland SuperSprint (hereinafter referred to as the Event ) which will also comprise races 23 & 24 of the 2017 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship ( the VCS ), and be held at Pukekohe Park Raceway, Pukekohe, Auckland on 3 rd 5 th November ORGANISATION & STATUS The Event will be held under the International Sporting Code of the Federation Internationale de l Automobile (FIA), the Supercars Operations Manual ( the Rules ), and any applicable National Competition Rules of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd (CAMS) which are not in conflict with the Rules, the Supplementary Regulations, any Further Regulations or instructions and any Bulletins issued Event Status: Restricted International 1.3 ADMINISTRATION & EVENT STAFF ASN: MotorSport New Zealand Inc. 3 CHAPTER 3 - TECHNICAL 3.1 SCRUTINEERING Scrutineering will commence at 0730 on Friday 3 rd November BRAKE SYSTEM Further to the table 5. 5 CHAPTER 4 - SPORTING 4.1 DRIVER CONDITIONS POLICY In accordance with Rule D3.8.4, the nearest Town or City to the Circuit, as listed by MetService is Pukekohe: PIT LANE PROTOCOL Cars must traverse the Pit Lane wholly within the fast lane and must not traverse the working lane save to enter or exit their own Pit Bay, and then only within 2 Pit Bays of their Pit Bay. 4.3 APPAREL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PIT CREW Further to Rule D22.3.5, for the duration of Sessions when the use of refuelling towers is permitted, all personnel in the front 50% of the Pit Garage that opens onto Pit Lane, must be wearing long pants. CHAPTER 5 - OPERATIONS 5.1 ACCESS TO PADDOCK The set-up of the Supercars paddock will be at the discretion of Supercars No passenger vehicles are to enter the Supercars paddock, commencing Thursday 2 nd November Team containers may be unloaded from 0800 on Thursday 2 nd November RACE TRACK WALK Teams are permitted to undertake their Race Track walk on Thursday 2 nd November 2017 between 1500 and All Team personnel participating in the Race Track walk must wear a high visibility vest. 5.3 BRIEFINGS A briefing for all Competitor s Team Managers will be held at 1730 on Thursday 2 nd November 2017 in the Teams catering marquee located on the platform alongside race control A briefing for all Competitors and Drivers will be held at 1745 on Friday 3 rd November 2017 in the Teams catering marquee located on the platform alongside race control. 5.4 TYRE FITTINGS Control tyre fitting will commence from 0900 on Thursday 2 nd November 2017 in the Dunlop facility located in the Supercars paddock Following race 24, Teams are required to have staff available at the Dunlop facility to bag their wheels for return freight to Australia. It will be the responsibility of the Teams to ensure the bagged wheels are loaded into the designated air freight containers as directed by Gibson Freight Tyre tents are not permitted on the concrete patch at the rear of the garages. Tyre tents are only permitted on the grass mound at the rear of the garages Teams will only be permitted 1 tent per transporter that is usually at an Event. 6 5.5 PROHIBITED ITEMS The transportation of any food product to and from Australia by a Team is strictly prohibited Any wood product is not permitted to be transported to New Zealand unless the product has been previously approved for export by the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) and the appropriate certification is supplied Teams are not permitted to transport fuel or empty fuel drums or containers to New Zealand for use at this Event. Teams refuelling equipment is not considered a container for the application of this Supplementary Regulation No hazardous materials (e.g. brake cleaner, etc.) are permitted to be transported to and from New Zealand in the air freight container by any Team Teams are not permitted to place or affix any signage of any kind, apart from the Supercars logo, on their air freight container. The only exception is a Team sticker on the front door of the container, no larger than 200mm x 150mm. The exact location will be specified by the Transport & Logistics Coordinator Air Freight Containers must be updated with the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship logo. All old V8 Supercars logos must be removed. 5.6 INDEMNITY FORM FOR PASSENGERS For this Event, delete Rule F1.1.5 and replace with the MotorSport New Zealand form distributed with these Supplementary Regulations. CHAPTER 6 - MARKETING 6.1 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE Teams must adhere to the activities outlined in the promotional schedule and/or any subsequent updates as provided by Supercars. 6.2 GRID WALK Where permitted, movement of non-team personnel on and off the grid must only be via the point/s as described in the Competitor s Team Managers Briefing Team guests for the grid walk are not permitted on the grid until all Cars are in their grid positions post the reconnaissance lap, or unless advised otherwise by Supercars staff. Crew personnel will still be able to access the grid when advised over RMC Promotional staff, Drivers and crew (up to 8 people per Car) are the only people permitted on the grid in addition to those that are wearing a grid sticker. 6.3 TEAM SIGNAGE Teams are responsible for the removal of all Team signage fixed to the Pit Garage marquees. A cleaning charge will apply to any Team who fails to remove their signage after the Event. Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Supplementary Regulations Page 6

7 CHAPTER 7 - SPECIFIC CIRCUIT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS 7.1 EVENT OPERATING HOURS The Event operating hours for the purpose of Rule D28 are as follows: Friday 3 rd November Saturday 4 th November 0930 After race Sunday 5 th November 0845 After race MEDICAL SERVICES The Medical Centre is located at pit entry and will be operational during the following times: Thursday 2 nd November Friday 3 rd November Saturday 4 th November Sunday 5 th November Any medical assistance that is required outside of the operating hours outlined in 7.2.1, please contact 111.
