2 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY Each night stands as its own competition You can only play in 1 grade each night If you are playing A Grade on a Monday night then the lowest you can play down on a Tuesday night is B Grade. Players under the age of 18 must be signed off by the CBI Office before taking the court *Cairns Basketball reserves the right to change the player eligibility rules at its discretion Any written request to vary the eligibility criteria will be given due consideration by C.B.I. Administration on behalf of the Board of Management. COMPETITION FORMAT Games will be played as per FIBA Rules with the following additions: TIMING: 4 X 10 min qtrs (partially timed) CLOCK STOPS: Last 1 min of 4 th qtr (UNLESS Margin > 10) OVERTIME: Regular Season A, B, C Grades & Over 35 s NIL Finals 3 min (All Grades) POINTS: Win 3pts, Draw 2pts, Loss 1pt, Forfeit 0pts RELEGATION At the end of each regular season the bottom-ranked team in each division will drop to the grade below and the top-ranked team will be moved up to the grade above BASKETBALL QUEENSLAND FEE Basketball Queensland Registration Fee is paid once every 12 months and the renewal date is determined by the date registration is paid. The Basketball Queensland Registration includes a limited sports injury insurance cover.

3 REFEREES Cairns Basketball is committed to supplying one (1) referee for every game. Where possible CBI will provide an additional (second) referee. In the instance where CBI is short on referees due to availability or drop off in number of senior referees, teams may be required to supply a Duty Referee for the game before/after theirs. CBI will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible to the teams that are required to supply a Duty Referee. FORFEITS A Team will require four (4) players for a game to start. If after 8 minutes a team does not have four (4) players the game will be deemed a forfeit. A 20 to nil win will be awarded to the non-offending team. If both teams are unable to field a team at the scheduled time both teams receive a forfeit. A TWO (2) point penalty will apply for every minute or part thereof that the game is delayed for a lack of players. UNIFORMS (all teams must adhere to the FIBA uniform rules) The Following policy will be STRICTLY ENFORCED as of Week 4 A TWO (2)-point penalty will be applied for every player not in the registered team uniform. The application of the Uniform Penalty is at the absolute discretion of the Game Convener in consultation with the referee s. Points will be added to the score sheet and score board at half time of the game. FIBA RULE 4.3. Uniforms (Abridged Version) The uniform of the team members shall consist of: Shirts of the same dominant colour front and back. Shorts of the same dominant colour front and back, but not necessarily of the same colour as the shirts Each team member shall wear a shirt numbered on the front and back with plain numbers, of a solid colour contrasting with the colour of the shirt. The numbers shall be clearly visible. UNREGISTERED PLAYERS NO PERSON IS TO PLAY UNREGISTERED OR UNDER ANOTHER REGISTERED PLAYERS NAME. ANY TEAM CAUGHT DOING SO MAY BE REMOVED FROM THE COMPETITION.

4 Step 1: TEAM NOMINATION $ Bond (Forfeit/Duty Ref) TEAMS MUST REGISTER USING OUR ONLINE TEAM REGISTRATION LINK ON OUR WEBSITE Team Manager All teams MUST nominate a Team Manager and a 2 nd Contact who will be points of contact for all CBI communication & responsible for the collection and payment of player fees. $ payable to CBI with form (previous season carry over applies) NO teams accepted without this payment Non-financial members will not be accepted (inc. previous season debts) Step 2: PLAYER REGISTRATIONS Basketball Queensland Annual Fee Currently $62.44 Cairns Basketball Winter Player Fee $54.00 (per player) PLAYERS MUST REGISTER USING THE LINK PROVIDED TO YOUR TEAM MANAGER WHEN TEAM IS SUCCESFULLY REGISTERED New players joining teams after commencement of season must confirm their registration with CBI BEFORE taking the court The player registration fee is paid each season This fee provides limited insurance cover for members Step 3: TEAM FEES All Grades Option 1 ($85 per game) 2 payments (Games 1-10 then Games 11-20) $850 per payment Payment due 16 th April 2018 Option 2 ($90 per game) Weekly Payment Payable to the CBI Office BEFORE Due Date / Game
