We are excited to have 62 teams participating in the Duster Dunkfest, spanning from Kansas to Firth, Nebraska! COACHES PASSES: Coaches must checkin upon arrival to pickup their wristband at the admission s table at the site of their first game. Our staff will put a wristband on you that will be your admission to the gym each day. These will only be available at the site of the first game you will be coaching. Do not remove the wristband until you have completed your final game. Altered or removed wristbands will not be honored. Limit of 2 coaches per team, additional coaches must pay the daily admission fee. BRACKET ABBREVIATIONS: Games will be played at Holdrege High School, Holdrege Middle School, Holdrege Elementary School, City Auditorium, HS: Holdrege High School th Ave. Holdrege, NE ELEM: Holdrege Elementary School Broadway Street, Holdrege, NE MS: Holdrege Middle School th Ave. Holdrege, NE CA: City Auditorium Grant Street, Holdrege, NE Saturday games are designated with SAT followed by the time and court. Sunday games are listed as SUN followed by the time and court. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for yourth in kindergarten thru 8th grade. This admits them to all sites for all games during the day. There are no single game tickets. Please read and be aware of the rules. Clock operators and scorekeepers will be provided for all games, but the top team in the bracket, or first team listed in a shootout, should be prepared to provide one person to sit at the table and assist with the score book if necessary. 3 Duster Dunkfest Rules Teams should be at the game site ready to play 30 minutes prior to game time. Games will start early when possible. Out of respect for the teams playing, players waiting for the next game are encouraged NOT to shoot during timeouts and halftime. 8 minute quarters - the clock will stop on all FREE THROWS, TIMEOUTS, and INJURIES. The clock will stop on all whistles the last minute of each quarter. 2 timeouts per half. Each one minute in length. No carryover to overtime. Overtime will be two minutes, starting with jump ball. One timeout per team. Clock stops on all whistles the last one minute. If tied at the end of overtime, a jump ball will be held to start sudden death overtime (no longer than four minutes, clock does not stop), no timeouts in sudden death. If tied after four minutes, best of 5 free throws will determine the winner. The players on the court at the end of the game will each shoot one free throw. The visiting team will shoot their five first. Teams may only press to a 10 point lead. No full court press allowed in these divisions: 3rd Boys and 4th/5th Girls. Press allowed in all other brackets. Clock rules in games with no press allowed: In the last :30 seconds of the game, if the score is within 5 points, after a dead ball the clock does not start until the ball is controlled in the front court (since there is no full court press). This is true also after a missed free throw in the last :30 seconds. *If the score is above 5 points, the clock runs normally when the ball is in play, if the score then gets below 5 points the clock will not run until ball is in front court. Teams must provide their own basketballs for warmups. Game officials will select a game ball to be used from the warmup balls belonging to the teams playing. Players may only participate on ONE team per event. In the four team shootouts, the team with the best win-loss record will be the champion. If there is a two-way tie, it will be broken by head-to-head results. If there is a three-way tie, the team allowing the fewest points scored in all games will be the highest place team, additional places will be determined by head-to-head results. The above tie-breaker will be used to determine seeds in the 6-team divisions. In the 5-team divisions, the following tie-breaker will be used: 1) Record (winning percentage), 2) Head to Head (if only 2 teams), 3) Fewest points allowed, 4) Coin Flip. If you have any questions, talk to a site supervisor. All other high school federation rules apply. All decisions by the game officials and tournament staff are final. Awards/Results Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Consolation Champs in each 8-team bracket, to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 6-team brackets and 1st and 2nd Place in 4-team and 5-team brackets. Results will be posted at at the conclusion of each game during the event
