The fourth-ranked Duke women s basketball team (14-0, 4-0 ACC) will hit the road for the sixth time out of the last eight games as the Blue Devils will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2:00 p.m., to face Wake Forest (9-6, 2-1). Sunday s contest will be played at Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C., and will feature live video at com. The game can also be heard on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network on WDNC AM 620 with Steve Barnes (PXP) and Morgan Patrick (Color) on the air. Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes... Duke is the only undefeated team remaining in NCAA Division I at For the fi fth straight year, Duke has opened the ACC slate with a 4-0 mark. Last year, the Blue Devils opened with a 13-0 mark. Chelsea Gray drew three charges taken at Boston College and two against Clemson. She leads Duke with 10 on the season. Gray has 27 for her career. She has moved into eighth place on Duke s all-time charges taken list. Elizabeth Williams lead the league with a 71.1 fi eld goal percentage in ACC games only. Chelsea Gray moved into 10th place on Duke s all-time steals chart on Jan. 10 with 206 career swipes. Over the last two games, Elizabeth Williams has averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 blocks, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals. She hit 75.0 percent of her fi eld goals in those contests. After holding Monmouth to only 32 points on Dec. 30, head coach Joanne P. The Blue Devils own four different studentathletes hitting over 40.0 percent or better from downtown -- Tricia Liston (47.6), Chelsea Gray (50.0), Haley Peters (47.8) and Chloe Wells (50.0). Elizabeth Williams has blocked at least one shot in every collegiate game she has played - 47 straight. The streak is the second-best in school history behind Alison Bales 55 in Dating back to high school, Williams has blocked a shot in 65 straight games as she closed her H.S. career with blocks in 19 consecutive contests. Wake Forest enters Sunday s matchup with an overall record of 9-6 after downing 18th-ranked Florida State, 80-72, in Tallahassee, Fla., on Thursday. The Demon Deacons own a 2-1 mark in ACC play, defeating N.C. State in their only prior home conference game. The squad is on a four game winning streak and is undefeated at home this season with an 8-0 mark. Lakevia Boykin (15.8 points, 3.1 rebounds), Chelsea Douglas (13.5 points, 2.3 rebounds) and Dearica Hamby (11.9 points, 7.0 rebounds) have led the way for Wake Forest. Head coach Jen Hoover is in her fi rst season at the helm of the program. She previously guided High Point to a record during the campaign in her fi rst stint as a head coach. The Series with Wake Forest... Duke and Wake Forest have met 71 times in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series Duke won both meetings last season against the Demon Deacons, including a win on Jan. 6 in Winston Salem. Blue Devil junior Chelsea Gray registered a school-record 15 assists on Thursday against Clemson. The 15 assists is the most by any Division I player this season and snaps Gray s own Duke record of 13 set last year against Pittsburgh. Blue Devil junior Chelsea Gray is quietly having one of the best individual seasons in school history averaging 14.6 points, 6.8 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 steals. She ranks in the top 20 nationally in assists, steals, free throw percentage and assist/turnover ratio. Gray is the only player in the nation to average over 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists this year. Over the last two games, Gray has averaged 13.0 points, 12.5 assists, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals. She has hit 10-of-17 fi eld goals (58.8%), 4-of-5 treys (80.0%) and hit both of her free throws. During those games, she has dished 25 assists to only six turnovers. Win Streaks Against an Opponent... Duke enters Sunday with a 37-game winning streak against Wake Forest. Duke registered a victory at Wake Forest and then notched a win in Durham to sweep the Demon Deacons. Elizabeth Williams notched a triple-double in the fi rst meeting in Winston-Salem, N.C., with 18 points, 16 rebounds and 12 blocked shots in 33 minutes. From the Field... 3 Duke Basketball The Blue Devils fl irted with 60.0% shooting against Clemson but fell below the line late in the game. Over the last two games, Duke has hit 61.6 percent of its fi eld goals and 55.6 percent from downtown. Blue Devils Versus Wake Forest... Junior Richa Jackson has notched double-fi gure scoring in three straight games against the Demon Deacons. In those contests, she has averaged 12.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.3 assists. She has hit 72.2 percent of her fi eld goals during that stretch. Haley Peters has averaged 13.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and hit 54.5 percent of her fi eld goals the last three games against WFU. She has scored 10 or more points in those three games. Elizabeth Williams averaged 17.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, 7.5 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals in the two games a year ago. Triple-Double Time... Junior Chelsea Gray became just the third player in ACC history to notch her second triple-double as the 5-11 point guard totaled 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists at Boston College on Jan. 6. She joined Dawn Staley of Virginia and Tynesha Lewis of N.C. State, who registered two doubledoubles over their career. Gray is the ninth player in the NCAA this season to post a triple-double. She posted her fi rst career triple-double last season against Pittsburgh with 14 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds on Dec. 4, 2011 at home. Top Field Goal Percentage... The Blue Devils tied a school record at Boston College with their 79.3 fi rst half fi eld goal percentage as the team hit 23-of-29 fi eld goals. It matched Duke s record from the Davidson game on Nov. 24, Duke fi nished the game with the seventh-highest fi eld goal percentage in school history (65.5%), which is also good for the fourth-highest in the NCAA this season. In the game at Boston College, Duke also registered season highs in three-point fi eld goals (10), three-point fi eld goal percentage (71.4%) and assists (26-tied). From Downtown... Duke continues to lead the nation with a 44.8 three-point fi eld goal percentage so far this season. The next closest team is Harvard at 41.7 percent. The highest three-point fi eld goal percentage in school history came in with a 40.6 clip. The Blue Devils hit 37.1 percent from downtown a year ago. Seven different Duke student-athletes have hit at least one three-pointer this season. Double-Double Machine... Haley Peters collected a double-double in backto-back games against Monmouth and N.C. State and now owns three this season. Peters came into the season with only one double-double over her fi rst two years. In those two games, Peters averaged 14.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.5 blocks. She had 18 points and 11 boards at N.C. State, while notching 11 points and 10 rebounds versus Monmouth. She has notched double-fi gure scoring in eight consecutive games. Peters is averaging 7.8 rebounds in her fi rst four ACC games, which ranks tied for eighth overall in league action. Both Programs Undefeated... With the men s basketball team boasting a 15-0 record and the women s basketball team with an 14-0 mark, Duke is the only program in the country with both its men s and women s basketball teams with undefeated marks. Scoring Blue Devils... Duke boasts 10 different Blue Devils that have registered double-fi gure scoring this season. The Blue Devils are the only ACC school to have 10 double-digit scorers, while Clemson, North Carolina, Virginia and N.C. State each have nine. The Blue Devils also have fi ve different studentathletes who have posted 20 or more points in a game this year joined only by Florida State. Duke is the only team in the ACC to have both 10 double-fi gure scorers and fi ve players who have scored 20 or more points in a game this season. Duke & NCAA Records Set... When Duke held Monmouth to only three points in the fi rst half on Dec. 30, the Blue Devils tied an NCAA record for fewest points allowed in the fi rst 20 minutes. The Blue Devil defense tied Florida State (vs. Savannah State, ) and Georgia Tech (vs. Tennessee State, ), who also held its opponents to three points in the fi rst half. Duke also set a new Blue Devil record by holding Monmouth to 4.0 percent shooting in the fi rst half. The previous school record was seven points vs. Ball State on Dec. 20, 2004 and the 4.0 percent shooting bested the previous low of 9.1 percent by Ball State ( ) and Stephen F. Austin ( ). Undefeated Starts... The Blue Devils have registered an 14-0 start to the season for only the fi fth time in school history. Duke s 14-0 start is the second-best kick-off to the season under Coach P. (20-0 in ). Jackson Returns to Action... In her fourth game back to action at Boston College, Richa Jackson hit 6-of-8 fi eld goals and fi nished with a season-high 16 points in only 18 minutes. The junior tore her ACL on Feb. 15, 2012 against VT. Liston From Downtown... Junior Tricia Liston continues to fi re away from downtown as she ranks seventh nationally with a 47.6 three-point fi eld goal percentage. Liston tied a season high with four treys at Southern California. She had her 18 consecutive games with a three-pointer streak come to an end at N.C. State on Jan. 3 as Liston went 0-of-3 from downtown. She has notched fi ve games with three or more treys and 10 with two or more three-pointers. Gray Posting Impressive Numbers... Gray Named ACC Player of the Week... Coming off notching her second career tripledouble on Sunday at Boston College, Chelsea Gray was named ACC Player of the Week on Monday. Gray became the third player in ACC history to register two triple-doubles as she notched 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in 33 minutes at Boston College. She joined only Dawn Staley of Virginia and Tynesha Lewis of N.C. State with two career triple-doubles. Gray also tied a career high versus the Eagles by draining all four of her three-point fi eld goal attempts.
