It is the lowest singlegame turnover mark since Rhody committed just five mishaps versus Dayton on Feb. 2, tis the season of giving Sophomore Marquis Jones registered a 1.67:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in limited action as a freshman. St. Bonaventure RHODY ANNOUNCES REGULAR SEASON TV SLATE The University of Rhode Island men s basketball team will appear on television 13 times, including three nationally televised broadcasts, during the regular season. Cox Communications and the URI athletics department have partnered again to provide Rhody basketball fans with one of the most complete and comprehensive local television packages in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Rams will play to a national audience three times during the campaign. On Sunday, Nov. 16, URI will face Duke on ESPNU (Cox channel 134), beginning at 4:30 p.m. Rhode Island and Oklahoma State will meet in the O Reilly All-College Basketball Classic on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN Classic (Cox channel 132). URI will host Atlantic 10 foe Xavier at the Thomas M. Ryan Center on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. in a game broadcast by CBS College Sports (Cox channel 135). The game also will be simulcast on Cox Sports Television (ch. 3). Eleven regular season games will be aired live on Cox Sports beginning with a Saturday, Nov. 22 contest against VCU. Additionally, the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds of the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship will be broadcast live both on Cox Sports Television and CBS College Sports. The A-10 title game will be aired live on ESPN, as part of its Championship Week package. BROOKS INKS NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT Head coach Jim Baron announced that Ryan Brooks has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic endeavors at the University of Rhode Island for the academic year. Brooks, a 6-8, 210 lb. forward from Mays Landing, N.J., is playing his final prep season at South Kent School for head coach Kelvin Jefferson. Over the last three years, 18 players from South Kent have signed national letters of intent to play NCAA Division I basketball. He averaged 17.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, connecting on 62.0% from the floor ( ) last season at Holy Spirit H.S. in Abescon, N.J. Brooks was a 2008 McDonald s All-American nominee and an all-star at the Eastern Invitational. ESPN.com and Scouts Inc. has rated Brooks as a high major prospect. Brooks played with the South Jersey Select AAU program and ranked among the top seniors in the Garden State, according to EKB Recruiting Service.
