1 Men s Basketball Release, Dec. 4 BADGERS HOST DETROIT (3-1) returns home to face Detroit (2-1) on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Kohl Center (17,142). The Badgers are looking for their 16th consecutive home victory. The game will not be televised but can be heard live on the Radio Network (WTSO AM locally in Madison) and on with Matt Lepay and Mike Lucas calling the game. The Badgers are ranked 13th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and 15th in the Associated Press poll. Detroit is not ranked. UW is coming off a overtime loss at Maryland on Tuesday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Badgers battled back from a seven-point deficit with 3:03 remaining to take a one-point lead on a Mike Wilkinson three-pointer with 12 seconds left. Maryland tied the game on a free throw with two seconds remaining then outscored UW 12-6 in overtime. Devin Harris hit five three-pointers on his way to a career-high tying 24 points. He also dished out a personal-best seven assists. WISCONSIN-DETROIT NOTES leads the series 2-0, winning the last meeting, , on Dec. 23, 1992 in Madison. 2 TEAM NOTES has won 15 consecutive games at the Kohl Center, the secondlongest current home winning streak in the Big Ten (Illinois has won 18 straight at home). That is tied for the fifth-longest home winning streak in school history. It is the longest since UW won 24 in a row from Jan. 14, 1929-Feb. 14, In the last five years, is 64-9 (.877) in home games. In two seasons under Bo Ryan, the Badgers have been even better, going 30-2 overall and 16-0 in Big Ten home games. Devin Harris scored a career-high tying 24 points vs. Maryland. Harris, who had just four points at halftime, broke out of a shooting slump by hitting 5-7 three-pointers in the second half. As a team, the Badgers made a seasonbest 10 three-pointers on Tuesday. That is more than UW had in its first three games combined. The 10 treys is the most of any Big Ten team this season., which set a school record and finished second in the country last year for fewest turnovers per game (10.4), has committed just 39 turnovers in the first three games this season (9.8 per game). No other team in the Big Ten is averaging fewer than 14.7 turnovers. Point guard Devin Harris, who averages just one turnover every 21.2 minutes for his career, has turned the ball over just seven times in 154 minutes this season. He is third in the Big Ten in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.00). The Badgers are +31 in turnover margin this season, tops in the Big Ten (+7.75 per game). The +16 turnover margin vs. Eastern Illinois on Nov. 25 was the best for UW under Bo Ryan and the highest for the Badgers since being +21 vs. Indiana on Jan. 4, led the Big Ten and finished sixth in the country in scoring defense last year, allowing 59.3 points per game. Through four games, the Badgers again lead the conference, giving up just 54.0 points per contest. That is good for sixth in the country. In Ryan s two seasons, has compiled a 30-2 (.935) mark at the Kohl Center. In conference play, the UW is a perfect 16-0 at home under Ryan. Fans have taken notice of the awesome home success of the Badgers. For the first time in Kohl Center history, tickets were sold out prior to the beginning of the season (Sept. 25).
