This year also marks the fourth consecutive season in which Marist won 20 games, a feat which was only accomplished in one season prior to Giorgis arrival. His Marist record stands at , and he has won 67 of his last 80 games since the middle of the season. As a result, Giorgis was once again honored by his peers in , as for the third straight year, he earned at least a share of MAAC Coach of the Year honors. 5 Last Time Out STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -- Nobody will overlook Marist anymore. The Red Foxes would not be bullied into an early exit this March. They drew offensive fouls and scrapped with a bigger, more physical Ohio State team, shocking the heavily favored Buckeyes on Saturday night to reach the second round for the first time in school history. Red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani made six 3- pointers, including three in an 18-5 second-half run that also featured a 3 by red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman, and finished with 24 points as Marist (28-5) earned a Monday night date with Middle Tennessee and the Blue Raiders' nation-long 27-game winning streak. Viani converted two free throws with 18.1 seconds left after Ohio State cut the lead to three, then Ashlee Trebilcock hit a long 3 on the other end for the Buckeyes. Junior guard Nikki Flores swished a pair of free throws for Marist with 8.2 seconds to go and her team secured a loose ball as the buzzer sounded - sending off a wild celebration at midcourt. Trebilcock scored 23 points for the Buckeyes (28-4), who got a quiet 13 points, five rebounds and two assists from three-time Big Ten player of the year Jessica Davenport - a 6-foot-5 senior who stayed home in Columbus for college but had her farewell run end earlier than she planned. Davenport committed 11 turnovers. Viani, who came in with a team-best 33 3s, shot 6-for-10 from long range for the Red Foxes from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., who won their seventh straight and 19th in 20. The team's lone loss during that stretch came at Loyola on Feb. 16, 62-55, and Marist was conference champion for the fourth straight year. Marist suffered first-round defeats in 2004 and '06 - losing by double digits to No. 3 seeds Oklahoma and Georgia in those years. Pulling off Saturday's biggest upset might be enough to erase all that. The Red Foxes drew three offensive fouls in the second half and forced fourth-seeded Ohio State into poor decisions down the stretch and 23 total turnovers. Freshman forward Rachele Fitz, Marist's leading scorer and rebounder averaging 15 points and 6.4 rebounds, made back-to-back baskets to tie it at 49 with 10:05 to play, then Viani gave the Red Foxes their first lead of the half on a 3-pointer from the top of the arc on their next possession. Junior forward Sarah Smrdel hit consecutive 3s early in the second half and scored eight straight in the stretch on the way to 10 points, and Marist overcame a disadvantage on the boards. Ohio State held a rebounding edge midway through the second half. Davenport threw an early elbow in the face of Dahlman, who quickly informed the officials. With about 7 minutes left in the half, Dahlman went to the floor and drew an offensive foul that sent Davenport to the bench with her second personal. Davenport was whistled for another offensive foul in the second half and Tamarah Riley had one on Ohio State's next time down at 9:37 - and Dahlman pumped her fist. A Lucky 13? If the Red Foxes prevail tonight, they will become just the third 13th seed in the history of the NCAA Division I women s basketball tournament to advance to the Sweet 16. The tournament expanded to 64 teams in the first year there were 13th seeds, since it had expanded from its previous high of 48 teams. In 1994, Texas A&M reached the Sweet 16. In 2005, Liberty also earned a berth in the regional semifinals. By earning a 13th seed in the Dayton Regional, the Red Foxes have their best seed in their three NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2004, Marist was a 14th seed when it took on thirdseeded Oklahoma, falling Last season, the Red Foxes were also a 14th seed when they suffered a loss to third-seeded Georgia. Historic Night for the MAAC Prior to Marist s win over Ohio State on Saturday, the 10 teams which currently comprise the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference had gone 0-21 in NCAA Tournament play. The only win the MAAC had previously earned in the tournament came in 1989, when La Salle defeated the University of Connecticut. That Was Close Marist s victory over Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday marked the first time all season the Red Foxes played a game which was decided by less than five points. The last time the Red Foxes played a game which was decided by less than five points was last season s Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference semifinal against Iona, when Marist posted a victory. The Good... In Saturday s victory against Ohio State, the Red Foxes tied their season by hitting exactly 50 percent of their three-point attempts, going 9-for-18 from beyond the arc. Marist also hit 50 percent of its threes against Stony Brook on Nov. 10 (4-for-8) and against Liberty on Dec. 29 (11- for-22). Only against Liberty and Fordham (11, on Nov. 26) did the Red Foxes hit more than nine threes in a game this season.... The Bad... The Red Foxes did not block a shot against Ohio State, marking the second time this season Marist did not block a shot in a game. The other instance came against Harvard on Dec And You Guessed It, The Ugly Marist grabbed a season-low 22 rebounds against Ohio State, and had a rebounding margin of -18 in the game -- tied for the second-worst margin Marist has had in a game this season. However, Marist has won its last five games when having a rebounding margin of -10 or worse.

She Does It All The following is dedicated to the achievements of senior point guard Alisa Kresge across the board this season and in her career: Assists Kresge became Marist s all-time leader in assists on Feb. 25 against Fairfield. Kresge currently has 580 career assists. The previous record held by Vecchio was 563. Both Kresge and Vecchio played on Marist s 2004 championship team and are natives of Holmdel, N.J. Kresge s season high for assists is 11, accomplished in the Dec. 29 win vs. Liberty. She has four games of 10 assists or more this season, and nine in her career. The Red Foxes have never lost when Kresge has had 10 assists or more in a game. She has had 15 career games of eight assists or more, and Marist has a lifetime record of 14-1 in those games. Last season, Kresge had 174 assists, the second-highest single season total in program history. Steals Kresge set a career high with seven steals at Manhattan on Feb. 4, with six coming in the first half. Kresge entered the Manhattan game in a tie for fifth on Marist s all-time steals list, and left Riverdale in sole possession of second. Her final steal of the day was the 200th of her career. She entered this season 10th on the school s all-time steals list. Kresge currently has 218 career steals. The only player who is now ahead of Kresge in Marist history is Lynne Griffin, who amassed 240 between 1981 and Assists + Steals Kresge in the only player in the history of the Marist women s basketball program to amass 500 career assists and 200 career steals. Rebounds Kresge s season high for rebounds is seven, which was accomplished six times this season. The most recent occurrence came in Marist s victory over Iona on Jan. 21. Her career high for rebounds is 12, which came on Feb. 12, 2004 against Manhattan. Points Kresge had the first double-digit scoring game of her career with 10 at Fairfield on Jan. 6. Her career high in scoring came on Feb. 9 vs. Canisius, with 11. Longevity Kresge has never missed a game in her career. She has currently played 123 career games, which is first alltime in program history. Kresge made her 100th career start vs. Canisius on Feb. 9, and has made 97 consecutive starts entering today s game. Marist is all-time when Kresge starts. Coast to Coast with Kresge In Saturday s win against Ohio State, senior point guard Alisa Kresge played all 40 minutes. It marked the third time this season Kresge every minute of a game, and it was the sixth time in her career that Kresge played at least 40 minutes. Kresge s career high for minutes is 45, as she played every minute of an overtime loss against Siena on Dec. 3, Dialing Long Distance with Julianne Red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani scored a career-high 24 points in Saturday s victory against Ohio State. Viani did most of her damage from beyond the arc, draining a six three-pointers in the contest -- also a career-high. Viani became the first Red Fox this season to hit at least five three-pointers in a game. The previous singlegame high for three-pointers was also held by Viani, who drained four against Liberty on Dec. 29. The last Red Fox to hit five three-pointers in a game was also Viani, who drained exactly that number against Saint Peter s on Jan. 22, Viani leads the Red Foxes with 39 three-pointers this season. Prior to Saturday s contest, Viani had shot just.284 from beyond the arc this season. In the campaign, Viani set Marist s single-season record for three-point percentage with a mark of.407. Front and Back In its three MAAC Tournament games, the Red Foxes combined to score 190 points. The Marist frontcourt (Rachele Fitz, Meg Dahlman, Lynzee Johnson, Sarah Smrdel, Kristin Hein and Mary Alice Duff) combined for 64 percent (122) of them, while the Marist backcourt (Alisa Kresge, Julianne Viani, Nikki Flores, Courtney Kolesar, Brittany Engle, Shannon Minter and Alexis Waters) combined for 36 percent (68). The Marist frontcourt combined to shoot.513 (40-for-78) in the three tournament games, while the backcourt combined to shoot.268 (19-for-71). However, due mostly to Viani s 24-point effort, the guards scored 34 of Marist s 67 points against Ohio State. Then and Now In Brian Giorgis five seasons as head coach, Marist has amassed 106 victories in 152 games. In the five years prior to Giorgis arrival, the Red Foxes had posted a record of Before Giorgis came to Marist, the program s previous 106 victories had come in a span of 290 games. Double Double-Doubles With Rachele Fitz (23 points, 10 rebounds) and Meg Dahlman (12 points, 10 rebounds) both racking up double-doubles against Siena on March 3, it marked the first time this season that two Marist players had double-doubles in the same game.

Smrdel Steps Out -- And Steps Up Junior forward Sarah Smrdel has shot the ball well from long distance as of late. In the Red Foxes victory over Rider on Feb. 19, Smrdel hit a career-high three three-pointers in three attempts. She has hit nine of her 16 three-point attempts in her last five games. Prior to this season, Smrdel had hit just one three-pointer in her career, which came in last season s MAAC Tournament semifinal victory over Iona. This season, Smrdel has four games in which she has hit at least two three-pointers in a game. On the season, Smrdel is tied for third on the team with 19 three-pointers made. High-Scoring First Halves In their victory over Rider on Feb. 19, the Red Foxes rolled up 47 points in the first half. It was the third-highest scoring first half the team had this season. The Red Foxes had 48 points before the intermission against Dartmouth on Nov. 23, and a program-record 55 against Fordham on Nov. 26. Marist had six first halves of at least 40 points in the regular season. Marist has had a double-digit halftime lead in 18 games this season. The Red Foxes are 18-0 in these games. MAAC Award Winners Freshman forward Rachele Fitz became the first Red Fox to be named MAAC Rookie of the Year and also earned MAAC Tournament MVP honors. Senior point guard Alisa Kresge was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year for the third straight year and also earned Second Team All-MAAC honors. Red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman and Kresge joined Fitz on the Second Team, and also was named to the MAAC All-Tournament team. Fitz became the first rookie to be an All-MAAC selection since Siena s Liene Jansone in the season. She also became the first freshman to be named MAAC Tournament MVP since Jansone in that season. Kresge has won Defensive Player of the Year outright the last two seasons after sharing it with Siena s Lauren Surber in the season. TV Stars Tonight s game marks the fifth time in program history and the second time this season the Red Foxes will have appeared on the ESPN family of networks. The Feb. 23 game at Iona was broadcast on ESPNU. On Jan. 20, 2006, Marist earned a win over Siena in its first game on ESPNU. The Red Foxes NCAA Tournament appearance against Georgia last year was televised by ESPN, and its tournament game against Oklahoma in 2004 was on ESPN2. Overall, tonight s game marks Marist s ninth television appearance of this season. The Red Foxes home games against Canisius on Feb. 9 and Iona on Jan. 21 were on Time Warner Cable 6 of the Hudson Valley. Their road games against Canisius (Jan. 12) and Niagara (Jan. 14) were tape-delayed on Time Warner Cable in Buffalo. All three of their MAAC Tournament games were on MAAC TV. Men & Women Keep On Winning For the second straight year, Marist has set a school record for combined wins of the men s and women s programs. This season, the Marist men and women have both won a total of 53 games (28 for the women, 25 for the men), breaking last year s mark of 42 wins (23 for the women, 19 for the men). This year also marks the first time the men s and women s programs have both won 20 games in the same season. With a combined total of 53 total wins between its men s and women s teams, Marist has now tied the best combined win total in MAAC history -- held by La Salle in the season (26 for the men, 27 for the women). In MAAC games, the Marist men and women combined for a record of The 31 combined conference victories is also a MAAC record. The men s and women s programs were also both seeded first in the MAAC Tournament, marking the first time since the season that a school had both the men s and women s top seeds (Manhattan, which won both tourneys). Wins and More Wins With its win in the regular-season finale against Fairfield, Marist won its 24th game of the season, setting a program record. The previous record of 23 was set last season. Marist has increased its win total every year since the season (6 in , 11 in , 13 in , 20 in , 22 in , 23 in , 28 this season), and has broken the program record for victories in each of the last three seasons. Take Them (And Hit Them), They re Free Freshman forward Rachele Fitz had a streak of 18 consecutive made free throws snapped on Feb. 23 at Iona. On the season, Fitz leads the Red Foxes in free throws made (119) and attempted (146). With 119 free throws made this season, Fitz ranks fourth in program history for free throws made in a single season. She attempted at least 10 free throws in all three games of the MAAC Tournament, going 25-for-34 (.735) from the line in the three games. Junior guard Nikki Flores enters today s game having made 35 of her last 38 free throws in the last nine games (.921). Flores had a streak of 18 consecutive made free throws snapped on Feb. 25 vs. Fairfield. She s Big for Her Age Forward Rachele Fitz has the second-highest field-goal percentage of any freshman in Division I women s basketball, according to the March 11 NCAA statistics. Fitz trails only UConn s Tina Charles, who is converting her field goals at a rate of.587. Fitz is one of just five freshmen in Division I who rank in the top 50 in field-goal percentage. Charles ranks seventh, Fitz is 13th, Stanford s Jayne Appel is 31st (.542), Michigan State s Allyssa DeHaan is 37th (.535) and St. Bonaventure s Dana Mitchell is 43rd (.528).

20 Wins and a Title The Red Foxes victory vs. Canisius on Feb. 9 gave them their fourth consecutive 20-win season. Prior to the season, the only time the program had won 20 games was the season, when Marist compiled a record of Marist has won at least a share of the MAAC regular-season title the last four years, including the title outright the last three seasons : : : : 28-5 (program record for wins in a season) First, But No First Teamers Marist became the first MAAC team since Saint Peter s in the season and just the third team in MAAC history to have a first-place regular-season finish without placing a single player on the All-MAAC First Team. Although freshman forward Rachele Fitz won 11 MAAC Rookie of the Week awards, no Red Fox earned a MAAC Player of the Week award this season. The and Marist teams are the only team since 1990 to win a MAAC title without an All-MAAC First Team choice. Giorgis Wins 100th Game Marist Head Coach Brian Giorgis earned his 100th career victory on Feb. 19 in the Red Foxes triumph over Rider. With the victory, Giorgis became the second coach in program history to amass 100 career wins, as Ken Babineau won 140 in his 12 seasons as the team s head coach. Giorgis also became the 13th coach in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference history to win 100 games in his career. Of the 13, Giorgis was the third-fastest to reach the milestone, trailing only Canisius Sister Marie Pares (who got it in the season) and Siena s Joe Hogan (who earned it in the campaign). As a result, Giorgis reached 100 victories faster than any coach in the conference in the last 20 years. The Class of 2007 Before the regular-season finale vs. Fairfield, Marist honored seniors Mary Alice Duff, Kristin Hein, Alisa Kresge, Shannon Minter and manager James McGrath. This is the winningest senior class in program history, as the Red Foxes racked up 88 victories, four MAAC regular-season titles and two NCAA Tournament berths in the last four years. In the game, Duff scored a career-high points, Hein had a season-high six, Minter tallied eight and Kresge dished out eight assists to break the program s all-time assists record. No Field Goals, No Problem Marist s shooting percentage of.320 at Iona on Feb. 23 was its second-lowest mark of the season. However, it was also the second time all season the Red Foxes won a game when shooting less than 40 percent from the field. Marist shot.380 in a win at Canisius on Jan. 12. The only time the Red Foxes have had a lower shooting percentage from the field was at Duke on Nov. 17 (.280). Dahlman-ia Red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman set her season high in scoring with 21 points and set a career high with five blocks against Iona in the MAAC Tournament final. In her last 13 games, Dahlman is shooting.592 from the field (61-for-103), including.476 (10-for-21) from threepoint range. Dahlman has scored at least 14 points in eight of her last 16 games. In the eight games she scored at least 14, she shot better than 50 percent from the field in all of them. Heating up late in the season is nothing new for Dahlman. In the final 10 games of the regular season last year, she averaged 18.5 points per game, scoring at least 16 points nine times and at least 20 five times. Long-Distance Dahlman Red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman entered this season as a career.393 shooter from three-point range, hitting 24 of her 61 career attempts. However, in the first 17 games of this season, Dahlman was just 3-for-23 (.130) from three-point range. But in her last 16 games, Dahlman has drained 14 three-pointers in 29 attempts. Included in this span was a streak of six consecutive games with a three-pointer. 60 Straight Under 60 The Red Foxes victory over Iona on March 4 marked the 60th straight win Marist has had when holding a team under 60 points. In every game of its recent 12-game winning streak, the Red Foxes held all of their opponents under 60 points. In doing so, they set a program record. The previous record was eight, which was set in the season. The Red Foxes went 7-1 in that stretch. This season, the Red Foxes are 25-0 when holding the opposition under 60 points, and 2-5 when the opposition scores at least 60. Tops In Turnovers Entering the NCAA Tournament, the Red Foxes are ranked first in the nation in turnovers per game. Marist, which ranked sixth nationally in turnovers last season, has 11 games this season in which it has committed under 10 turnovers. Villanova ranks second in the country in this category. Another Winning Streak The Red Foxes had their 12-game winning streak snapped on Feb. 16 at Loyola, which was tied for the second-longest streak in program history. The team had a 16-game winning streak, and last year s squad had a 12-game streak, meaning Marist has had a winning streak of at least 10 games each of the last three seasons. Marist, which is currently on a six-game winning streak, has had three winning streaks of at least four games this season and 10 in the last four campaigns. Prior to the season, Marist had just two winning streaks of four games or more in the previous 10 seasons.

Rachele s Double-Double Vision Freshman forward Rachele Fitz had her team-best sixth double-double of the season on March 3 vs. Siena, finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds. It was her second double-double in as many days, as Fitz had 21 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against Manhattan on March 2. Here s a look at Fitz s double-doubles this season: 1/14, at Niagara: 22 points, 10 rebounds 1/19, vs. Saint Peter s: 12 points, 11 rebounds 2/2, at Saint Peter s: 22 points, 13 rebounds 2/9, vs. Canisius: 22 points, 10 rebounds 3/2, vs. Manhattan: 21 points, 14 rebounds 3/3, vs. Siena: 23 points, 10 rebounds Fitz has had back-to-back double-doubles twice this season. In her last 20 games, Fitz has 23 steals, including eight games of at least two. Fitz tied her career high of three steals in the Feb. 23 victory at Iona. Best RPI Ever In the final release of the RPI on CollegeRPI.com, Marist checked in with a ranking of 54th, its best closing mark in program history. In the last four seasons, the only team to sweep a regular-season series against the Red Foxes is Siena, who accomplished the feat in the campaign.... Because We Don t Like Sharing Them The Red Foxes swept eight MAAC opponents this regular season -- Niagara, Manhattan, Saint Peter s, Canisius, Siena, Rider, Iona and Fairfield. In the previous three regular seasons, the Red Foxes swept 21 out of the total of 27 series they had against MAAC opponents. Saint Peter s ( , ) and Loyola ( , ) are the only two teams not to be swept twice in that span. Where No Team Has Gone Before... The Red Foxes set a program record by opening this conference season with 14 consecutive victories. The previous record was set by last season s team, as Marist won its first seven MAAC games before falling at Saint Peter s on Jan. 22. Home Sweet Home The Feb. 25 win over Fairfield in Marist s final home game extended the Red Foxes home winning streak to 23 games -- tied for second-longest streak in the country -- and enabled Marist to complete its first undefeated home schedule in program history. Since the start of the season, Marist is 44-6 at home. Marist also has a 25-game home winning streak against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents. The last time Marist lost to a MAAC foe at the McCann Center was on Jan. 8, 2005, when Canisius earned a win over the Red Foxes. Marist proceeded to win its final seven MAAC home games that season, and swept the MAAC home slate last season. The Red Foxes have also won their last 17 home games by at least 10 points. She scored a career-high 16 vs. Siena, and topped it with 18 vs. Niagara. Flores scored her 500th career point at Loyola on Feb. 16. Flores had a career-high eight rebounds vs. Canisius on Feb. 9. She also tied her season high with six assists in that game. She then tied her career high in rebounds at Iona on Feb. 23, and also went 10-for-10 at the free-throw line in that game. The 10 free throws made were a career high. When Quadruples See Double The Red Foxes had four double-digit scorers (Rachele Fitz, 22; Meg Dahlman, 17; Nikki Flores, 11; Julianne Viani, 11) in their victory over Saint Peter s on Feb. 2. It marked the fourth time this season that Marist had four double-digit scorers in a single contest. Marist is 4-0 in those instances this season, with the other three victories coming against Stony Brook on Nov. 10, Iona on Jan. 21 and Niagara on Jan. 28. Overall, the Red Foxes have won eight straight games when having four double-digit scorers. Defense With a Capital D The Saint Peter s game on Jan. 19 marked the fifth time this season the Red Foxes have held an opponent to under 30 percent shooting from the field this season. Four of these five defensive efforts have taken place at the McCann Center:.180: 1/19, vs. Saint Peter s.220: 12/10, vs. Manhattan.232: 11/26, vs. Fordham.235: 11/22, vs. Dartmouth.273: 1/14, at Niagara

The Significance of Jan. 10 Over the last four seasons, Marist has compiled a record of (.861) after Jan. 10. In the season, the Red Foxes were 6-6 after a Jan. 9 loss to Manhattan. Starting with its Jan. 11 win over Rider, Marist went 14-5 until the season s conclusion. The edition of the Red Foxes was also 6-6 following a Jan. 8 loss to Canisius. It was the biggest crowd Marist has drawn in the last two seasons, and the most since 2,367 fans went to the McCann Center for the home finale of the season. Marist drew over 1,100 fans for all 12 of its home games so far this season. The Red Foxes lead the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in home attendance, averaging 1,674 fans per game this season. Marist has drawn at least 1,000 fans for its last 16 home games, dating back to last season. Another Historical Defensive Effort In their victory over Saint Peter s on Jan. 19, the Red Foxes held the Peahens to just 18 percent shooting from the field. Saint Peter s hit just nine of its 50 field-goal attempts, and the Peahens had three assists in the contest. The field-goal percentage against, number of field goals allowed and number of assists allowed were all the lowest totals the Red Foxes have permitted in a single game in the five years Brian Giorgis has been the team s head coach. The last time Marist had held a team under 20 percent from the field was a Nov. 29, 2004 game vs. New Hampshire, when the Wildcats shot 19.3 percent. Fitz Sets MAAC Records On Jan. 29, freshman forward Rachele Fitz set the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record by winning her eighth Rookie of the Week award of the season. On Feb. 12, Fitz set a record by winning her sixth straight award. The previous record for MAAC Rookie of the Week awards won in a season was seven, set by Jeanine Radice at Fordham in the season. Radice later became an assistant coach at Marist under Ken Babineau. Perfect January The Red Foxes concluded January with an 8-0 record, the first time the program has gone through the first month of the calendar year with a undefeated record in its history. However, January success has been nothing new for the Red Foxes under Head Coach Brian Giorgis. Marist has posted a 25-2 record in January over the last three seasons, and the Red Foxes have captured 29 of their last 31 January contests dating back to the season. That Elusive 10th Point In three games this season, the Red Foxes have not permitted the opposition to have a double-digit scorer. Prior to the campaign, the Red Foxes had never swept the Western New York swing, and had posted an aggregate record of just 4-10 in these games. Now, Marist is overall in its MAAC trips to Canisius and Niagara. Currently with 89 blocks in her career, Dahlman is just five behind Kristin Keller for third on Marist s all-time list. Additionally, Dahlman s total of 46 blocks this season is second best in program history. Dahlman s total includes five she had in her freshman year at Holy Cross, where she played the season before transferring to Marist. 80s Flashback The 84 points the Red Foxes scored in their victory over Rider on Jan. 8 represented the second-highest total for Marist this season. The Red Foxes tallied 88 in their 50-point triumph over Fordham on Nov. 26 at the McCann Center. In the Rider game, Marist amassed its third-highest point total in Head Coach Brian Giorgis five years at the helm. In addition to the Fordham game earlier this season, the only other time Marist scored more than 84 came in an victory over Rider at the McCann Center on Jan. 16, With Marist also having scored 82 in its season-opening victory over Stony Brook and 80 in its win over Niagara on Jan. 28, the Red Foxes have scored at least 80 points on four occasions this season. The last time Marist scored at least 80 points in a game more than four times in a season came in the campaign, when the Red Foxes accomplished the feat six times. Ironically, the Red Foxes had their lowest free-throw percentage of the season (.412, 7-for-17) at Rider. Miss Consistent Freshman forward Rachele Fitz has 30 double-digit scoring games this season in the Red Foxes 33 contests. The only three teams to hold Fitz under 10 points this season are Duke (two), Maryland (six) and Loyola (eight). Hot Shooting Freshmen All three members of Marist s freshman class -- Brittany Engle, Rachele Fitz and Lynzee Johnson -- are among the MAAC leaders in freshman shooting percentage. Engle is shooting.479 from the field, having hit 34 of her 71 field-goal attempts. Overall, Marist s starting backcourt of Kresge, Viani and junior Nikki Flores (four assists, one turnover) combined 17 assists and two turnovers. Kresge and Viani rank among the national leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio, while Flores has improved her ratio in every season as a Red Fox. Dahlman, who never had four assists in a game prior to this season, has five games of four-plus assists in the campaign, most recently having four against Rider on Feb. 19. Fitz Reaches New Milestone Freshman forward Rachele Fitz scored the 200th point of her career in the Red Foxes Jan. 8 triumph at Rider. Fitz has scored 205 points in just 15 games so far this season, and has become the first Marist freshman in 20 years to score her first 200 career points in 15 games or less. The Red Foxes have won 29 of their last 31 games when they have secured at least 12 offensive rebounds. Hitting the (MAAC) Road With its win on Feb. 23 at Iona, the Red Foxes have won 26 of their last 30 MAAC road games, dating back to the season. By going 8-1 in MAAC road games this year, Marist tied its best mark in history, which was initially set in the season. The Red Foxes went 7-2 on the road in the MAAC last year, falling only at Saint Peter s and Loyola. Living Out of a Suitcase Last month, the Red Foxes concluded a road trip of historic proportions. Following its home win over Manhattan on Dec. 10, Marist did not have another home game until the Jan. 19 contest against Saint Peter s, meaning the team had eight consecutive games away from the McCann Center. The Saint Peter s game also marked Marist s first home game in 40 days. Both totals are school records for time spent away. In this span, Marist played its final four non-conference games and a stretch of four straight road MAAC games. The Red Foxes went 6-2 on the trip, including 4-0 in MAAC contests, and logged approximately 2,400 miles. This Date In Marist History Playing in its second NCAA Tournament game in program history, the 14th-seeded Red Foxes suffered a loss to third-seeded Georgia. Playing in her final game as a Red Fox, Fifi Camara led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Alisa Kresge added nine assists.

Connecting From Downtown The Red Foxes have hit a three-pointer in 93 consecutive games. The last game in which Marist did not hit a three was its victory over Saint Peter s on March 6, 2004 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals. That was the only game since Brian Giorgis became head coach that the Red Foxes did not hit a three, meaning they have hit at least one in 151 of their last 152 games. Marist s high for three-pointers in a game last season was 12, which came on Feb. 17 at Iona. The Red Foxes hit at least 10 three-pointers on three occasions last year. Their season high for is 11, which came against Fordham on Nov. 26 and Liberty on Dec. 29. Double-Double Trouble The Red Foxes have allowed a double-double in four of their five losses this season. On Nov. 17 at Duke, Carrem Gay totaled 14 points and 10 rebounds. Villanova s Jackie Adamshick had 25 points and 10 boards on Nov. 19. On Dec. 22 at Yale, both Erica Davis (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Chinenye Okafor (11 points, 12 rebounds) accomplished the feat. On Feb. 16 at Loyola, Vika Sholokhova totaled 21 points and 11 rebounds. Prior to the Yale game, the last time a team had two players record double-doubles vs. Marist was on Dec. 21, Auburn s Le Coe Willingham (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Mandisa Stevenson (11 points, 11 rebounds) pulled it off in the Tigers victory. Déjà Vu For the Third Time Following their wins over Loyola and Manhattan, the Red Foxes got off to a start 2-0 in the MAAC. In its nine previous years in the conference, Marist has had two 2-0 starts, five 1-1 starts and two 0-2 starts. The previous two times Marist started 2-0 were the and seasons. Those were the two previous years the Red Foxes advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Marist also started its conference slate with two home games in those seasons, just as it has done this campaign. Remember December Marist s nine-game winning streak in the month of December was snapped with the Dec. 22 loss at Yale. Marist was 5-0 in the final month of the calendar year last season, and went 5-2 in In Brian Giorgis first three seasons at Marist, the team was in December. Four of the Red Foxes seven losses during the season came in December. Two Weeks With Votes Marist received two points in the Dec. 19 USA Today/ESPN Women's College Basketball Poll, its highest total in school history. The Red Foxes earned one point in the previous week's poll, which was the first time they had received a vote in the Top 25 in program history. However, since the Dec. 22 loss to Yale, the Red Foxes have not received any votes. Triple Scoring Threats The Red Foxes currently have three players averaging at least 10 points per game: Rachele Fitz (15.0), Meg Dahlman (11.8) and Julianne Viani (10.1). The last time Marist finished a season with more than two players averaging at least 10 per game was (Diesa Seidel, 13.8; Marie Fusci, 10.9; Sarah Tift, 10.3; Elisha De Jesus, 10.0). Happy New Year... But 2006 Was Pretty Nice Junior guard Courtney Kolesar had a memorable 2006 calendar year, particularly with her three-point shooting. Marist played 33 games last calendar year, and Kolesar hit 38 of her 80 three-point attempts, a.475 clip from long range. Prior to 2006, Kolesar had hit three of her 21 threepoint attempts in her Marist career. Meet Your All-Tournament Team Senior point guard Alisa Kresge and red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani were named to the All- Tournament Team at the Terrapin Classic, held Dec at the University of Maryland. Kresge registered a season-high 11 assists and tied her season high with seven rebounds in Marist s win over Liberty on Dec. 29. She finished the tournament with 14 assists against zero turnovers, three steals and a blocked shot. Viani averaged 13.0 points in the tournament s two games, and tied her season high with 15 against Liberty. Viani also set a season high with four three-pointers against the Lady Flames. She added 11 against Maryland on Dec. 30. Maryland s Marissa Coleman was named the tournament s Most Valuable Player. The other members of the All-Tournament team were Maryland s Sa de Wiley- Gatewood and Kristi Toliver, as well as UNC Greensboro s Jasmine Byrd. Turnover Streak Comes to End The Dec. 22 loss at Yale snapped the Red Foxes 19- game winning streak when they force the opposition to commit at least 15 turnovers. Marist forced the Bulldogs to commit 22 turnovers, but suffered a defeat. Prior to that game, Marist s last loss when forcing 15 turnovers was an defeat at Saint Peter s on Jan. 22, Yale Snaps Winning Streak The Red Foxes seven-game winning streak was snapped in the Dec. 22 loss at Yale. The streak had marked the eighth time in the last four years Marist won at least four games in a row. Prior to the season, the Red Foxes had won four in a row just twice in the previous 10 seasons. Marist s win over Harvard on Dec. 18, the last one in the streak, was the only one decided by under 10 points. Prior to this season, Marist had three winning streaks longer than seven games: 16 ( ), 12 ( ) and 8 ( ).

Meg s Milestones Red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman scored her 800th career point on March 4 against Iona. Dahlman scored her 500th career point in the Nov. 28 victory over Brown, which was the second career milestone she achieved in the matter of a week. On Nov. 22 against Dartmouth, Dahlman hauled in the 200th rebound of her career. These totals include Dahlman s time at Holy Cross, where she played the season before transferring to Marist. Stifling Defense In Marist s victory over Manhattan at the McCann Center on Dec. 10, the Red Foxes held the Lady Jaspers to the lowest total of points a team has ever scored in a game involving two MAAC teams, according to the conference's media guide. The Red Foxes also set a McCann Center record for fewest points allowed to a Division I team, and tied their record for fewest points allowed to a Division I team at any site. Rachele Fitz, Meet Marie Fusci Freshman forward Rachele Fitz scored 26 points off the bench in the Dec. 18 win at Harvard. The last time a Marist freshman scored more points in a game was Marie Fusci, who scored 30 in her second collegiate game, a loss to Boston University on Nov. 29, The last player in program history to score more points in a game off the bench was... you guessed it, Marie Fusci, who had 27 in a loss at Loyola (Md.) on Feb. 14, Against Harvard, Fitz scored 15 consecutive Marist points in a span of 5:31 late in the second half. She hit her last seven shots from the field, and also finished with a team-best seven rebounds. Twenty of her points came in the second half. Difficult Schedule The Red Foxes have once again assembled a challenging schedule. In the regular season, Marist had 14 games against teams which won at least 17 games last season. Eight of the Red Foxes 11 non-conference contests fit this criteria. Marist played each of the participants in last year s national championship game. On Nov. 17, the Red Foxes fell to last year s national runner-up, Duke. By virtue of its first-round victory in the Terrapin Classic, Marist faced topranked Maryland in the championship game, falling It marked the first time in school history the Red Foxes had faced a defending national champion, as well as the first time Marist has faced a team ranked number one in the country. The Red Foxes first four games were all against teams which advanced to postseason play last year. In addition to Duke, Dartmouth was also an NCAA Tournament participant last year. Stony Brook and Villanova earned berths in the postseason WNIT. Marist vs. Non-Conference Foes For the third straight season, the Red Foxes posted a winning record against their non-conference opponents, as Marist went 7-4 against non-maac teams. Marist went 5-4 out of conference in the season, and 6-3 in Prior to this run, the Red Foxes never had backto-back winning records in their non-conference slate. Under Brian Giorgis, the Red Foxes have compiled a regular-season record (15-4 home, 8-16 road, 2-1 neutral) against non-conference opponents. Against teams from BCS conferences (Auburn, Georgia, Providence, St. John s, UConn, Villanova, Duke and Maryland), the Red Foxes are 0-9. Stopping the Skid By defeating Dartmouth on Nov. 22, the Red Foxes kept a positive trend from recent years -- not letting back-toback losses turn into extended losing streaks. Marist had suffered consecutive losses to Duke and Villanova in overtime prior to the Dartmouth game. Since the start of the season, Marist has had just one losing streak of more than two games. That came at the start of the season, when the Red Foxes lost their first four before winning 23 of their final 26 and going to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years. Besides the four-game skid to open last season, Marist has had just four instances of back-to-back losses in the last four seasons. Feisty Flores Junior guard Nikki Flores was difficult to stop down the stretch in Marist s overtime loss at Villanova. Flores tied her career high with 14 points in the game, and 10 of them came in the final four minutes of regulation and overtime. For the game, she shot 3-for-4 from the field, 1-for-2 from three-point range and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Along the way came a couple of milestones, as Flores hit the 100th free throw of her career and scored her 300th point in a Marist uniform. Ivy League Grand Tour For the second straight season, Marist faced four teams from the Ivy League. The Red Foxes defeated Dartmouth (Nov. 22), Brown (Nov. 28) and Harvard (Dec. 18), but fell to Yale (Dec. 22). The meeting was the first between the Red Foxes and the Bulldogs in Marist s Division I history. It was the first time Marist had played Dartmouth since Marist defeated both Harvard and Brown at home last year. The Red Foxes had won nine straight games against Ivy League schools before their loss to Yale. Days of the Red Foxes Lives The Dartmouth game marked the first time the Red Foxes played a game on a Wednesday since Jan. 5, On that night, Alisa Kresge hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds to give Marist a win at Lehigh. Marist does not have a regular-season game scheduled on a Thursday this season.

Red Foxes Sign Four Head Coach Brian Giorgis has announced the signing of four players to National Letters of Intent in the early signing period. Élise Caron (Quebec, Canada), Maria Laterza (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Erica Allenspach (Miamisburg, Ohio) and Sarah Huff (Canal Winchester, Ohio) will join the Red Foxes for the season. The additions of Allenspach and Huff will give the Red Foxes six players from Ohio next season, as the incoming freshmen will join Rachele Fitz (Seven Hills), Courtney Kolesar (Concord), Lynzee Johnson (Xenia) and Sarah Smrdel (Mentor). Élise Caron (Quebec, Canada/College Edouard - Montpetit) Caron, a 5-5 point guard, was named Canadian National Player of the Year last year. She averaged 21 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals per game. Giorgis on Caron: She's a point guard who does a lot of things that we like. The first thing that caught our eye was her ability to defend. She sees the floor well and can distribute the ball, and she can also score. She has a tremendous work ethic. Maria Laterza (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) Laterza, a 6-3 center, was rated as one of the top five post players in the New York City. She was named First Team All-Brooklyn and First Team All-City, averaging 17 points and 14 rebounds per game last year. Giorgis on Laterza: She's a strong, athletic post player who will give us a lot of power and strength on the inside. She's a very physical player, which we need up front. She's loaded with scoring potential around the basket and stepping out. Erica Allenspach (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) Allenspach's AAU team, the Dayton Lady HoopStars, finished fourth at Nationals this past summer. A 5-8 guard/forward, Allenspach averaged 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals last year. Giorgis on Allenspach: She has a real solid all-around game. She defends, she can score, she's very athletic and a great offensive rebounder for a guard. She has a nice jump shot. We saw her when we saw Lynzee Johnson. She is a consummate team player who just does everything well. Sarah Huff (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) Huff, a 6-3 power forward, was named First Team All- Mid State League and Third Team All-Ohio Central District. She averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots per game last season. Giorgis on Huff: "She really runs the floor well. She's more of a mobile power forward who has a nice shooting touch, especially around the basket. She's a very bright kid, a very smart basketball player. (Huff and Laterza) will have a year to learn under Meg Dahlman and Sarah Smrdel. Hopefully by their sophomore year, they can help Rachele Fitz and Lynzee Johnson out on the front line." Red Foxes Make History vs. Fordham Marist s victory over Fordham on Nov. 26 will go down in program annals for a variety of reasons: * The Red Foxes scored a school-record 55 points in the first half as they rolled to a 39-point lead at the intermission. The previous Marist record for points scored in a first half was 53, which the Red Foxes achieved in a victory over Columbia on Jan. 5, The last time Marist had scored 50 in a first half was on Dec. 5, 2003, when the Red Foxes tallied 51 against Canisius in a win. * The aforementioned victory over Columbia was the last time Marist won a game by at least 50 points, meaning this was the largest margin of victory the Red Foxes enjoyed in Brian Giorgis five years as head coach. The previous largest margin of victory under Giorgis was 36, which was set in Marist s previous game, a win over Dartmouth on Nov. 22. * The Red Foxes shot 56.3 percent for the game, hitting 36 of their 64 attempts from the field. That was the highest field-goal percentage Marist had in any game under Brian Giorgis, and it was the team s highest in any game since Jan. 8, 2002, when the Red Foxes shot 57.4 percent in a triumph at Fairfield. * Eight different Red Foxes hit three-pointers against Dartmouth. Shannon Minter led the way with three, followed by Julianne Viani with two, while Sarah Smrdel, Meg Dahlman, Alisa Kresge, Brittany Engle, Nikki Flores and Lynzee Johnson hit one apiece. It was the first time since Brian Giorgis became head coach that the Red Foxes had eight different players drain a three-pointer in a game. * Twelve different Red Foxes -- Rachele Fitz (18), Meg Dahlman (11), Shannon Minter (11), Sarah Smrdel (9), Julianne Viani (8), Alexis Waters (6), Brittany Engle (5), Nikki Flores (5), Lynzee Johnson (5), Mary Alice Duff (4), Alisa Kresge (3) and Kristin Hein (3) -- scored against Fordham. It marked the first time the Red Foxes had a dozen players score in a game since Jan. 27, 2006, when Marist downed Rider * The Marist bench accounted for 51 points in the game. It was the most the Marist reserves had combined for since they tallied 55 in the victory over Columbia on Jan. 5, * In all, six Red Foxes either tied or set their season or career highs in scoring -- Fitz, Johnson and Duff set career highs, Minter and Waters tied their career highs and Viani established a season high. Due to injuries, Fordham dressed just six players.

Hot Shooting Marist shot 50.9% in the field against Stony Brook, including a total of 53.8% in the second half. The Red Foxes also hit 20 out of 27 free throws (74.1%), including 16 of 19 in the second half (84.1%). The last time Marist lost a game when shooting over 50% in a game came on Feb. 5, 2001, a home loss to Loyola. The Red Foxes have won 12 straight since then when hitting more than half their field goals in a game. Making History The Nov. 10 opener marked the earliest date the Red Foxes have ever opened a season. The previous record did not even last a year, as last year s squad which started its campaign in the Preseason WNIT at the University of Connecticut on Nov. 12. The Red Foxes victory over Stony Brook in the opener improved their record in season openers to 6-20 and snapped a four-year losing streak. A Win Is Still a Win The Red Foxes started their season 1-0 despite unusually high numbers of turnovers and points allowed compared to their usual standards. Marist had 20 turnovers against Stony Brook. The Red Foxes turned the ball over 20 times or more in a game on just three occasions last year: the MAAC Championship game vs. Loyola (20), a Feb. 3 game at Siena (20) and vs. Idaho on Nov. 26 (22). Ironically, the Red Foxes won all three of those contests. The Red Foxes also allowed 72 points against Stony Brook. Marist allowed more than 70 points just three times last year, and lost all three games. The last time Marist had won a game when allowing more than 70 was the 2004 MAAC Championship game -- a win vs. Canisius which sent the program to its first NCAA Tournament. This Year s Captains Senior point guard Alisa Kresge and red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman were selected as co-captains of this year s squad. This year marks the first time in Head Coach Brian Giorgis five-year reign that a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School is not one of the team s captains. Giorgis coached girls basketball at Lourdes for 19 years prior to coming to Marist. Since Giorgis came to Marist, four of his former Lourdes players have played for him as Red Foxes: Maureen Magarity, Kristin Keller, Kristen Vilardi and Julianne Viani. Viani is the only Lourdes graduate on the squad. Here is a list of captains in Giorgis time at Marist: : Maureen Magarity^ : Maureen Magarity^ : Kristin Keller^ : Fifi Camara, Erin Leger, Kristen Vilardi^ : Meg Dahlman, Alisa Kresge ^ -- Played for Giorgis at Lourdes. Night of Bests... Junior forward Sarah Smrdel set a career high with 24 points in Marist s season-opening victory over Stony Brook on Nov. 10 at the McCann Center. Smrdel also set career highs in field goals made (10) and field goals attempted (17). She tied her career high with two blocked shots and hit the second three-pointer of her career. Her seven rebounds led the Red Foxes. With red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani sidelined, junior guard Nikki Flores stepped into the starting lineup and logged a career-high 33 minutes. Flores finished with 11 points. Junior guard Courtney Kolesar made and attempted six free throws after attempting a total of five in her first two years as a Red Fox. Additionally, Kolesar played a career-high 21 minutes. Ironically, Kolesar s previous high of 20 minutes came on Feb. 3, 2006 at Siena -- the only game last year in which Viani did not play and was replaced in the starting lineup by Flores. The 82 points Marist scored tied the Red Foxes high from last season. That total came in the last game the team had played at the McCann Center -- an victory over Fairfield on Feb. 23. Prior to the game, Marist honored the team which won the most games in program history. The members of the team, which won 23 games, received their championship rings and saw the MAAC regular-season championship and NCAA Tournament banners raised. And Night of Firsts... Freshman forward Rachele Fitz impressed in her collegiate debut against Stony Brook in the season opener on Nov. 10. Fitz scored 17 points and pulled down six rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. She also did not miss a shot, going 6-for-6 from the field and 5-for-5 from the line. Fitz s 17 points were the most scored by a Marist player in her first game since Jean-Marie Lesko scored 20 against Kentucky on Nov. 26, Lesko went on to score 1,092 points in her career, which is tied for 10th on Marist s all-time scoring list. Fellow freshmen Lynzee Johnson and Brittany Engle also made their debuts against the Seawolves. Johnson scored her first two collegiate points on her only field-goal attempt of the game. She also had a rebound and an assist in eight minutes of action. Engle logged five minutes on the night. It wasn t just the newcomers who accomplished firsts in the season opener. Junior Alexis Waters made the first start of her career at the three, scoring four points in 16 minutes. Classmate Courtney Kolesar also hit the first two-pointer of her career in the game. In her two prior seasons as a Red Fox, all of Kolesar s 24 field goals were three-pointers. For Head Coach Brian Giorgis, the victory was his first in a season opener in his five years with the Red Foxes. It was also the first time Marist opened the season at home under Giorgis.

Marist Picked Second Marist was picked to finish second in this year s MAAC preseason coaches poll. The Red Foxes earned 90 points, including three first-place votes. Iona, which finished overall and tied for third in the MAAC at 13-5 last season, was picked to capture the crown this year. The Gaels received 94 total points and five first-place votes from the league s coaches. Although Marist has won at least a share of the MAAC regular-season title each of the last three seasons, the team has never been picked first in the preseason poll. The Red Foxes were picked seventh in the season, the first year the team advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Marist followed that up by being picked third for the season, second last year and now second again this season. Dahlman, Kresge Lauded Red-shirt junior center Meg Dahlman was named a preseason First Team All-MAAC selection, following a season in which she earned First Team All-MAAC honors and was named MAAC Tournament MVP. Last year, Dahlman ranked in the top five of the MAAC in three statistical categories -- scoring (third), blocked shots (third) and field-goal percentage (fifth). Senior point guard Alisa Kresge was a preseason Third Team All-MAAC selection. In her junior season, Kresge led the MAAC in assists and was named the conference s Defensive Player of the Year. She was also a Third Team All-MAAC selection. Kresge also was MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore. Red/White Report Freshman forward Rachele Fitz finished with gamehighs of 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the White team to a victory over the Red squad in the annual Red/White scrimmage on Oct. 22. Fitz shot 9-for-16 from the field and 7-for-9 from the line. She hit her only three-point attempt and added two assists and three steals. Helping the cause for the White team was red-shirt sophomore guard Julianne Viani, who finished with 15 points along with six assists and three steals. Junior guard Alexis Waters added 14 points, four rebounds and a game-high three blocked shots for the White team. For the Red team, junior forward Sarah Smrdel scored a team-high 13 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Smrdel also contributed six rebounds and two blocks. Freshman forward Lynzee Johnson had a solid all-around effort with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Freshman guard Brittany Engle totaled 10 points, six rebounds and four assists, while junior guard Nikki Flores also scored 10. The teams combined to drain 17 three-pointers. Viani and junior guard Courtney Kolesar of the Red team tied for the game high by hitting three apiece. In all, 10 different players hit at least one three. Who s Back? The Red Foxes return 10 of last year s 13 letterwinners. Here are the percentages of returning production in several statistical categories: * 65.4% of the team s scoring. * 68.4% of the team s rebounds. * 78.0% of the team s assists. * 63.8% of the team s blocked shots. * 69.9% of the team s steals. * 64.1% of the team s made field goals. * 65.9% of the team s attempted field goals. * A shooting percentage of.397. * 75.7% of the team s made three-pointers. * 74.7% of the team s attempted three-pointers. * A three-point percentage of.349. * 65.2% of the team s made free throws. * 63.6% of the team s attempted free throws. * A free-throw percentage of.691. * 69.5% of the team s minutes played. Who Departed? Fifi Camara, who spent two highly productive seasons with Marist, has graduated. Camara was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year last season, the first Red Fox to ever earn that honor. In the campaign, she was named First Team All-MAAC and earned MAAC All-Tournament Team honors. Camara led Marist in scoring and rebounding last year, averaging 16.3 and 7.8, respectively. She ranks first alltime on the Red Foxes career points per game (15.9) and rebounds per game (8.6) lists, collecting 938 points and 506 rebounds in her two seasons. Currently, Camara is playing professional basketball in Spain. Kristen Vilardi has also graduated after playing the last eight years under the direction of Head Coach Brian Giorgis -- four at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, and four for the Red Foxes. Vilardi finished her career tied for first place on the program s all-time games played list -- with former high school and college teammate Kristin Keller -- at 117. Danielle McCray, a 5-foot-11 forward who spent last season with the Red Foxes, left the program. In 23 games, McCray scored 13 points and collected 26 rebounds. Who s New? Freshman forward Rachele Fitz comes to Marist from Seven Hills, Ohio. In her scholastic career at Trinity High School, Fitz totaled over 2,000 points and 1,400 rebounds. Fitz should see considerable time at the four. Freshman Lynzee Johnson will also have an immediate opportunity to compete for time in the Marist frontcourt. The Xenia, Ohio native stands 5-foot-10 and has good instincts and intelligence in the post. Brittany Engle is a freshman guard from South Easton, Mass., who stands 5-foot-9.
