17 BASKETBALL
18 PANTHERS In basketball, football, track and field, golf and other sports, the Cardinal and Black sports teams have been helped and strengthened in their pursuit of excellence. This. philosophy has existed down through the years. Whatever the formula and the magic of the Clark CoLlege poise, hustle, fight and spirit, it has been proof positive. The Panthers have used no sleight of hand, utilized no oracles or soothsayers, jinx, hoodom nor necromancy to put the whammy over small college foes. Behind Cardinal and Black's stairway to the stars is the hard work, toil, sweat and the around-the-clock tenacity and perserverance of Coach Sonny Epps. In the quest "for best possible effort, his assault on perfection has been a Mt. Everest of man's fortitude to reach the summit. In most cases he has climed the mountain to gratifying triumph afld viewed the vistas of satisfaction from the pinnacle of loftiness to which all mankind aspire.
