Standards of the technical part of the game (goals, skills). Tamás Neukum EHF Lecturer Leiria, 07th June
Beach handball techniques Defence Offense Fast break/quick retreat 2
Beach handball techniques defence What are the differencies from indoor handball? Movements Checking Gaining possession of the ball Blocking 3
Beach handball techniques defence Movements similar as in indoor handball right movements prepare the anticipation create a good possibilities for the fakes 4
Beach handball techniques defence Checking BASICALLY: NO CHECKING NO BODY- TO-BODY CONTACT!!! But you can carefully check in front of the attacker, rather than from the side or back If the attackers began the spin shot or inflight shot checking is FORBIDDEN!!! 5
Beach handball techniques defence Gaining possession of the ball Blocking even while block with the shot, the aim is to gain possession of the ball It is more difficult because your are at a disadvantage, and it is also easier because the attacker cannot bounce or dribble the ball Attempting steals can be risky, but can also result in good scoring opportunities Gaining the ball while over/inside the 6 m line (against inflight shots) 6
Beach handball techniques defence Blocking Last chance for the defenders to prevent with the shot. Blocking against the specialist is the same as in indoor handball (mostly individual) Diving block against wingers spin shot One of the most spectacular and important defensive techniques) Must pay attention to: direction of move, rhythm, and distance from the attackers 7
Beach handball techniques defence Diving blocks One of the most important techniques Different of indoor handball 8
Beach handball techniques defence Teaching diving blocks Standing and blocking during a normal shot Standing and blocking during a spin shot Diving block of a normal shot Attempting the diving block over any small obstacle Diving block of a spin shot Force the defender at the correct place and time for movement 9
What are the differencies from indoor handball? Movements General techniques with ball Fakes Shots Inflight shot Spin shot 10
Movements specialist horizontally and vertically wingers horizontally pivot basicly standing, but horizontally and vertically (depends on the tactics) 11
Movements The effeciency of the team strongly depends on the movements without the ball, cause permanent pressure for the defenders. During all of the trainings the coaches have to force the players to learn the right movements (direction and distance). The movements require special physical stamina/endurance, because to start and change direction with adequate speed is more difficult than on a firm surface. Basic movements are very important because they prepare and define the opportunities for and the quality of the shots. 12
General techniques with ball Receiving the ball. Keeping the ball. Passing the ball (bounce pass, inflight, spin shot). Bouncing, dribbling. 13
Fakes Specialist completly similar to indoor handball (no extra movements to score the goal). Wingers passing fakes (to force the defenders because 3 against 4, they have to move immadietely). Pivot passing fakes. Shoot out shooting fake (to force the opposing goalkeeper to decide incorrectly). 14
Shots Specialist same as in indoor handball Wingers spin shot or inflight shot (jump from one and two legs) Pivot spin shot, inflight shot, or inflight shot from movements (jump from one and two legs) Goalkeeper direct goal (substitution tactic) 15
Inflight shot Individual techniques but requires minimum 2 players Jump from one and legs. Less chance for defense to block. Has advantages over the spin shot, because - can continuously see the goalkeeper - less chance for the defenders to prevent the goal 16
Teaching inflight shot inflight shot after close pass inflight shot after long pass inflight shot above/over the defender inflight shot after a return pass, above the defender inflight shot from under the defender s armpit (after the fakes) defence against inflight shot 17
Spin shot individual technique jump from one leg jump from two legs to pay attention to defenders diving blocks to take spin shots from the defence zone 18
Teaching spin shot (1) half spin (both directions) spin shot without steps spin shot, after jump from double legs to double legs spin shot, after one step and jump from double legs spin shot, after running and jump from double legs spin shot, after taking 3 steps back at 6-meter line and attacking again and jump from double legs spin shot, after trying to move in different directions 19
Teaching spin shot (2) spin shot after individual tactical solutions (put down and pick up the ball) spin shot after a long pass spin shot after a return pass the specialist receives the ball, fakes, and makes a return pass to the wingers, who take a spin shot basic movements, after the whistle return pass and spin shot spin shot while falling to the side spin shot with a defender blocking 20
Thank you for your attention! 21
