The contest is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off in Savage Hall and will televised taped delay on BCSN. The Rockets are looking to bounce back from their loss at Youngstown State this past Thursday. The Midnight Blue and Gold were hindered by 21 turnovers and shot just 32.8 percent (19-of-58) from the field and 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from the charity stripe in the seven-point setback. Sophomore Allie Clifton paced UT with 15 points and nine rebounds against the Penguins, while senior Tamesha Scotton had her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 caroms. Through the first five games this season, Toledo s talented duo is averaging 27.8 points and 16.2 boards per contest. They are shooting a combined 51.0 percent (50-of- 98) from the field. Detroit is off a 0-6 start this season with losses to Western Carolina (85-65), Auburn (91-47), Eastern Michigan (65-54), Buffalo (66-50), Northern Iowa (62-35) and most recently Iowa (65-42). With head coach Mickey Barrett in his fifth season at UDM s helm, the Titans are averaging 48.8 points per game with senior Joyce Massey leading the club in scoring and steals at 7.3 points and 3.0 thefts per contest, respectively. The Rockets and the Titans will be meeting for the 22nd time in the overall series. UT holds a 13-8 series advantage, but has lost the last four meetings dating back to the campaign. Despite its recent shortcomings in the series, UT has dominated the action at Savage Hall, winning seven of the last eight contests played between the schools. Following tonight s contest, Toledo will travel to Peoria, IL on Saturday, Dec. 8 to battle Bradley. The Rockets lead the series, 13-8, but have dropped the last four meetings between the two schools, dating back to the campaign. UT is 7-2 all time against the Titans in Savage Hall. With 19 seconds remaining, Toledo s Julie Hillis nailed a jumper from just inside the three-point arc to give the home team a advantage. After a Detroit timeout with 14.8 seconds left in regulation, UDM s Lindsey Pasquinzo drove the baseline, but was cut off by UT s Mary Blessing and Karin Hoogendam. Falling out of bounds, Pasquinzo alertly threw the ball off Blessing s foot to give the visitors one more shot with 2.3 seconds left. On the ensuing play, Pasquinzo intended to hit Lori Wild cutting to the basket, but the ball went through her hands and found its way to Krzyzek, who promptly drained the 15-footer as time expired. Danielle Bishop led the Rockets with 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Kelly Walker was the only other Rocket in double figures, finishing with 13 points. Toledo shot 34.1 percent (15-of-44) from the field, including 35.0 percent (7- of-20) from three-point field goal range. The Rockets dished out only 10 assists, while committing 27 turnovers. Pasquinzo scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Titans. Wild added eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds. UDM shot 38.8 percent (19-of-49) from Toledo s Last Time Out - Nov. 29, 2007 TOLEDO 48 Youngtown State 55 YOUNGSTOWN, OH - Toledo (2-3) could not overcome a slow start and suffered a setback at Youngstown State in the Beeghly Center. The Rockets managed only two field goals in the opening 10 minutes of the contest and fell behind early, The visitors just could not get things rolling at either end of the court in the first half, while YSU found its stroke to build a comfortable cushion. The Penguins Heather Karner buried a pair of triples to extend the lead to at the intermission. Allie Clifton, who finished with a team-high 15 points, started to heat up to begin the second half and converted a pair of three-point plays to trim the deficit to with 13:41 left. With Clifton sparking the rally, the rest of the team soon followed suite, as UT hit eight of its first 14 shots to make it a close contest. The Rockets continued to fight hard and Tamesha Scotton split a pair of free throws to make it a two-point game, 43-41, with 7:07 left. UT pulled within a basket on two more occasions in the waning moments but could get no closer. The Midnight Blue and Gold had its chances to tie or take the lead, but they missed six consecutive free throws and tallied only five points in the final five minutes. The difference in the contest down the stretch proved to be the Penguins ability to get to the foul line and convert. The home team went 11-of-12 (91.7 percent) from the charity stripe in the second half, while the Rockets shot only 6-of-16 (37.5 percent). Rocket News & Notes TOLEDO TIES IN TONIGHT S GAME: Tonight s matchup will bring about a Toledo reunion. Detroit junior Sandi Brown is a 2005 graduate of Start High School. Brown averaged 9.4 points, 9.8 rebounds and just under 3.5 steals per game as a senior for the Spartans, earning all-city and all-district honors. TOLEDO INKS THREE RECRUITS DURING EARLY SIGNING PERIOD: Toledo signed three recruits to national letters of intent for the season. The signees are Clare Aubry (Upper Sandusky, OH - Upper Sandusky), Morgan Harrington (Belleville, IL - Belleville East) and Courtney Ingersoll (Massillon, OH - Perry). A 5-foot-9 guard, Aubry averaged 22.9 points, 2.7 steals, 2.6 assists and 1.5 blocks as a junior to help her school to a 17-6 record and a sectional title. She shot 43.9 percent from the floor and 79.1 percent from the charity stripe. For her efforts, Aubry earned third-team all-state honors, as well as first-team all-league and all-district recognition. She also set a school record for points in a season (526) and points in a game (44). A 5-foot-8 guard, Harrington tallied 11.5 points and 3.8 assists as a junior, earning first-team all-conference and honorable-mention all-state honors to help her school to a 27-4 record. This past season, her team lost by a point in triple overtime in the Super-Sectionals, which is one game from the Elite Eight in the state of Illinois. A McDonald All-American nominee, Harrington begins her senior campaign with 890 career points and is second in school history in assists. A 5-foot-10 guard, Ingersoll averaged 12.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a junior, earning honorable-mention allstate honors, as well as second-team NE Inland District, all-county and all-league accolades. She shot an impressive 49.1 percent from field, including 42.6 percent from three-point land, and also garnered first-team all-district honors and was being selected the Mayor Cup MVP and the MVP of the Tipoff Classic. CLOSE CALLS: Toledo has played two games this season (1-1 record) that have been decided by six points or less. The Rockets lost at the buzzer against George Mason by one point on Saturday, Nov. 17, and most recently won by six points vs. Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 24. DOUBLE FIGURE SCORERS: Toledo has had six players score in double figures on 15 occasions thus far this season. Allie Clifton has finished with 10 or more points in all five games. She leads the way having totaled 11 double-digit scoring efforts in her career.

Rockets Picked to Finish Fifth in MAC s West Division Toledo has been picked to finish fifth in the MAC s West Division by the MAC News Media Association. The Rockets received 106 points and trailed Ball State (240 pts.), Northern Illinois (184 pts.), Eastern Michigan (150 pts.) and Western Michigan (122 pts.) in the voting. The Cardinals received 36 of the 41 first-place votes, while the Broncos collected three first-place votes and the Huskies garnered the other two first-place tallies. Clifton Doing it All for the Rockets Sophomore Allie Clifton emerged as one of UT s go-to players late last season and that pattern has continued through the early stages of the campaign. Clifton has scored in double figures in all five games this season and on 11 occasions in her career. This past Thursday at Youngstown State, she tallied a team-high 15 points, to go along with nine rebounds and two assists. She finished 6-of-11 from the field and 3-of-7 from the charity stripe in 34 minutes. The co-captain ranks first in the MAC in field-goal percentage (58.0%), second in defensive rebounding (6.00 rpg), sixth in scoring and minutes played, seventh in overall rebounding, tied for seventh in three-point field-goal percentage (41.7%). Clifton averaged 10.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 26.0 minutes during the last five games in Clifton, who missed the first six games last season with an injury, registered 4.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.8 steals in 18.8 minutes per contest in Clifton Named to A l l - T o u r n a m e n t Team Allie Clifton was named to the Seton Hall Basketball Classic All- Tournament team for her efforts in the two contests on Nov Clifton averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the tourney. The Van Wert, OH had 19 points and four caroms in the Rockets opening contest vs. San Diego and added 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals against George Mason the following afternoon. She shot 62.5 percent (10-of- 16) from the field, including 60.0 percent (3-of-5) from three-point range. Toledo s Record By Starting Lineup in Williams, Clark, Clifton, Johnson, Scotton: 1-2 Stocks, Clark, Clifton, Goodall, Scotton: 1-1 Double Your Pleasure Senior Tamesha Scotton recorded her second double-double of the season at Youngstown State this past Thursday, contributing 10 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Scotton knocked down 3- of-10 shots from the floor and was 4-of-8 at the charity stripe in 31 minutes. Scotton was moved into the starting lineup in to fill the void left by graduated senior Savannah Werner in the low post and has done an outstanding job thus far. The Fort Wayne, IN native is averaging 11.2 points, a team-best 8.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.6 blocks in 30.6 minutes per contest. Scotton ranks tied for first in the MAC in offensive rebounding (4.20 rpg), second in overall rebounding, eighth in defensive rebounding (4.40 rpg), tied for 14th in blocked shots, 15th in field-goal percentage (43.8%), 17th in minutes played and 18th in scoring. The 5-foot-10 forward emerged as a key contributor for the Rockets off the bench in and averaged 5.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 17.4 minutes per contest. Clark shot 3-of-8 from the floor, including 1-of-2 from three-point range, in a career-high 35 minutes. Clark preceded that performance with a career-high 23 points, six rebounds, two assists and one blocked shot against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 24. The 5-foot-7 co-captain has started all five games in and is tallying 9.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per contest. She ranks 20th in the MAC in overall rebounding and 28th in scoring.

Stocks Makes Second Straight Start at Youngstown State Senior Nacole Stocks made her second-straight start at Youngstown State this past Thursday and tallied a game- high six assists, to go along with two steals and two rebounds in 26 minutes. Stocks is averaging a team-high 4.6 helpers and 1.8 thefts per contest in , along with 4.0 points and 2.0 caroms. She ranks third in the MAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.64) and assists and tied for 13th in steals. Stocks, who dished out a careerhigh 10 helpers vs. Cleveland State last season and led the team in assists a team-high 12 times, averaged 3.8 points, team-high 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 21.9 minutes per game in The Lithonia, GA native ranked tied for 15th in the MAC in assists. Goodall is Good for Toledo Freshman Melissa Goodall earned the chance to start UT s last two contests after she tallied a career-high 21 points vs. George Mason in the consolation finals of the Seton Hall Basketball Classic on Saturday, Nov. 17. Goodall added six rebounds and four blocked shots in 32 minutes. This past Thursday at Youngstown State, Goodall contributed six points and one steal in 19 minutes. The Lexington, OH native is averaging 8.0 points, 3.8 caroms and 1.0 blocks in 21.6 minutes in She ranks second in the MAC in field-goal percentage (54.8%) and tied for fourth in blocked shots. 12 Toledo Women s Basketball Game Notes - page 12 Mark Ehlen is in his 13th season as the Toledo head coach with a reputation as one of the winningest coaches in Mid- American Conference basketball history. More importantly, Ehlen s teams have struck a perfect balance between athletic performance and academic integrity. Ehlen owns a (.626) record at Toledo and sports an even better (.682) conference regular-season mark. He is second in league history in conference victories only and sixth in overall winning percentage. He is also the eighth-winningest coach, percentage-wise, in MAC history in league games. A record four-time MAC Coach of the Year honoree (1997, 99, 01, 03), Ehlen has taken the Rockets to four NCAA Tournaments (1996, 97, 99, 01) and two WNIT appearances (1998, 03). His players have received three MAC Player of the Year awards (Angela Drake and Kim Knuth & 99), as well as nine firstteam All-MAC selections. In , Danielle Bishop garnered all-league honors for the third-straight year, being named honorable-mention the last two seasons after earning third-team honors as a sophomore. Ehlen, who has a record in his 22-year coaching career, was named the Toledo head coach on August 21, 1995, becoming the eighth coach in the program s history. A 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University, Ehlen received a bachelor s degree in communications education. He also received a master s degree in broadcast communications from Bowling Green in Ehlen and his wife, Mimi, reside in Sylvania, OH. The couple has a 10-year Head Coach Mark Ehlen old daughter, Eliza. National Success Under Ehlen, Toledo has made six postseason tournament appearances in 12 years (four times in the NCAA Tournament), and overall during that span Toledo has averaged 18.8 wins per season. The Rockets best performance in the Big Dance came in 1996 with a secondround appearance. The Midnight Blue and Gold won an NCAA Tourney game with a victory over 24th-ranked Mississippi, before falling to sixth-ranked Old Dominion, 72-66, in second-round action. Academic Excellence The Rockets have been successful in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. In Ehlen s tenure, Rocket players have been selected first team Academic All- MAC nine times and Academic All-District IV first-team seven times, including one CoSIDA Academic All-America pick. Under his tutelage at UT, the Rockets have posted team GPAs above 3.0 in 21 of the last 26 semesters.
