3 STEELERS CLAIM THE NORTH With a win in Week 14 vs. the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers clinched the 2017 AFC North division crown. Pittsburgh secured the AFC North division title for the eighth time since NFL realignment in the most among division teams (Pittsburgh: 8, Baltimore: 4 and Cincinnati: 4). The Steelers are one of the most succesful teams in NFL history. 5 TOMLIN IN THE PLAYOFFS Head Coach Mike Tomlin is only the second coach in NFL history to reach two Super Bowls in his first four seasons as a head coach (Joe Gibbs - Washington Redskins). The Steelers are 8-6 during the Mike Tomlin era in the postseason, with three of the six losses being by six points or less. Mike Tomlin is the youngest coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl. STEELERS POSTSEASON NOTES In 2005, the Steelers became the first No. 6 seed in NFL history to win the Super Bowl. Since then two other Wild Card teams have gone on to win the Super Bowl ( 10 Green Bay, sixth seed and 07 Giants, fifth seed). Pittsburgh has played in 60 playoff games, which is second all-time behind Dallas (61). The Steelers have won 12 of their last 18 postseason games. Pittsburgh is 8-4 all-time in the postseason at Heinz Field since the stadium opened in 2001, including winning five of their previous six.
