The game can also be heard live online at goseawolves.org. THE SERIES WITH ROBERT MORRIS Robert Morris leads the all-time series, 5-2. The Seawolves have a 1-2 record against the Colonials at LaValle Stadium and are 1-3 in Moon Township, Pa. Last season, Josh Dudash hit Joe Tarasiewicz on a 12-yard fade in the corner of the end zone with 6:02 remaining to lift Stony Brook to a thrilling win over Robert Morris in a wild, highscoring affair. Dudash went 23 of 34 for 411 yards and fi ve touchdown passes, equalling a school record for touchdown passes in a single game. Lynell Suggs also turned in a record-setting performance, becoming the fi rst receiver in school history to catch four touchdown passes in a single game. He fi n- ished with 210 yards receiving, the secondbest single-game effort in program history. LAST TIME OUT The Stony Brook University football team used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Sacred Heart, 38-21, on Saturday afternoon in front of over 3,000 fans at Kenneth P. La- Valle Stadium. Sacred Heart drops to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference. The win moves Stony Brook into sole possession of fi rst place in the NEC. After a scoreless fi rst quarter, Stony Brook struck when Josh Dudash marched the Seawolf offense 99 yards over a 5:05 span capped by a 10-yard touchdown strike to Lynell Suggs with 13:56 left in the fi rst half. After a botched snap on a Pioneer punt, the Seawolves expanded their lead to 14-0 when Conte Cuttino fi nished off a 20-yard drive with a nine yard touchdown scamper just over four minutes later. Sacred Heart scored the fi nal touchdown of the fi rst half when Tyler Arciaga found Corey Bundy for a 32-yard score with 4:41 left in the half. Stony Brook scored the only touchdown in the third quarter after the Seawolves used another fi ve-minute plus drive to go up Dudash found tight end Kevin Halonski on a

The Pioneers mounted a furious rally in the fi nal quarter as they were able to capitalize on two Stony Brook turnovers to tie the game at 21 with 10:17 to play. After a Cuttino fumble, Sacred Heart went on a 10-play, 69-yard drive which was capped by a Joey Henley touchdown reception. On the ensuing drive, Dudash was picked off for the fi rst time this season by Jon Wilson. Three plays later Steve Tedesco caught a 16-yard touchdown to knot the game at 21. The Seawolves regained the lead for good when Von Bryant ran in from nine-yards out. Stony Brook moved the ball 57 yards on fi ve plays, all on the ground, in just 1:35. The drive was highlighted by Bryant s 27-yard scamper to set up fi rst-and-goal from the nine. The Stony Brook defense sealed the game when Sacred Heart s next two possessions were thwarted by Seawolf interceptions. Milo Otis picked of an Arciaga pass and returned in 37 yards, setting up a 22-yard fi eld goal by Matt Weeks. Cory Giddings continued to make big plays on defense as he picked off a Sacred Heart pass and returned it 40 yards. The Seawolves punched in the fi nal score when Mike Cosentino rushed 23 yards on an end-around to give the Seawolves a win. Dudash fi nished the game for 140 yards and two touchdowns while Cuttino carried the ball 20 times for 129 yards and one score. Hasan Stewart was a stalwart on defense making 12 tackles and sent the crowd into a frenzy with a bone-crushing hit in the second quarter. Giddings fi nished with four tackles, an interception, and a blocked fi eld goal. AND THE AWARD GOES TO... Conte Cuttino powered a ground attack that rolled up 257 yards in a win over Sacred Heart on Saturday. Cuttino, who earned his second NEC Rookie Player of the Week award this season, carried the ball 20 times for 129 yards and a score. It was Cuttino s second 100-yard rushing game of the season which both came in Stony Brook victories. The freshman s nine-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave the Seawolves a 14-0 lead. Cuttino currently ranks fi fth in the NEC in rushing (63.9 ypg). Cory Giddings and Josh Dudash were honored for their efforts in the win over St. Francis by the Northeast Conference as they each picked up a weekly accolade. Dudash was named NEC Offensive Player of the Week while Giddings earned Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week. Dudash was outstanding in Stony Brook s win over St. Francis (PA) giving the Seawolves three-straight wins and a tie for fi rst place with Robert Morris in the league standings. The junior signal caller completed an astounding 22-of-27 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns. The Beachwood, NJ native s two passing scores were from long distance, connecting with Dwayne Eley on a 34-yarder in the second quarter and Lynell Suggs on a 40-yarder in the fourth quarter. Dudash earns his third career NEC Offensive Player of the Week award and fi rst this season. On the season, Dudash has completed 63.0 percent (92-146) of his attempts, while throwing six touchdowns and no interceptions. Giddings was again at the center of big plays by the Stony Brook defense in the Seawolves win over Saint Francis (PA). After the Red Flash climbed within 14-6, Gid- Catch the Stony Brook Sports Report Host Carl Reuter and Coach Chuck Priore talk about the upcoming season on the Stony Brook Sports Report. The Stony Brook Sports Report will once again air locally on Cablevision and nationally on CSTV. The show will air on Friday mornings at 11:00 a.m. on College Sports Television (CSTV). Cablevision viewers in Suffolk County can catch the Sports Report every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on channels 18 or 118 while Nassau County viewers can watch the show on Tuesday s at 8:30 p.m. on channel 18. In addition, the show will be streamed on as part of Stony Brook All-Access. The fi rst show will air on Cablevision on Tuesday, September 5 and on CSTV on Friday the 8th. 3 dings recovered a blocked PAT and raced 85 yards to the unusual defensive PAT conversion to give Stony Brook a 16-6 lead at halftime. With SBU holding a lead in the third quarter and St. Francis driving for the go-ahead score, Giddings intercepted an Anthony Doria pass in the endzone to thwart the drive. The Seawolves would score on the ensuing possession and go on to win. Giddings also collected eight tackles in the game and earns backto-back NEC Rookie of the Week awards. ABOUT THE COLONIALS Robert Morris enters the game with a 5-3, 3-1 record after falling to Monmouth, 17-6, last weekend. The Colonials are tied for second place at 3-1 in league play. Signal caller Erik Cwalinski has thrown for over 1500 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. His favorite targets are Michael Rogers and Jarvis Powers have each made 22 catches and combined for seven scores. On the defensive side of the ball, Jeff Rommes has recorded 63 tackles while Mike Niklos has registered three interceptions. GIDDY UP Freshman defensive back Cory Giddings has come up with big plays on defense the last three weeks for the Seawolves. Last week versus Sacred Heart, Giddings recorded his 2nd interception in as many weeks and blocked a field goal late in the first half. At St. Francis, Giddings recoverd a blocked PAT and raced 85 yards to record two points for the Seawolves. Late in the game, Giddings once again came up huge as he intercepted a ball in the endzone to thwart the Red Flash s rally. Giddings was at the center of Stony Brook s win over Albany on Saturday as the first-year player recovered three Great Dane fumbles, returning two of them for touchdowns. He became the first player in recorded college football history (I-A, I-AA) to recover three fumbles in a game and first since Alvin Nnabuife of SMU in 2004 to return two for touchdowns. NOT JOSHING AROUND Josh Dudash has becomed settled under center for the Seawolves as the junior quarterback has been very consistent in conference play. Versus Sacred Heart, Dudash tossed two touchdowns At St. Francis, Dudash was unstoppable, completing 22 of 27 passes for 314 yards and two touchdowns. Against Albany, Dudash went 16- for-22 for 236 yards and one touchdown. In the game versus Monmouth, Dudash went 11-for-20 for 180 yards and two touchdowns. THE STREAKING SEAWOLVES The Seawolves have won four straight games this season and have strung together seven-straight conference victories dating back to last season. At the end of the 2005 season, the Seawolves rattled off wins over Robert Morris, Wagner, and CCSU on the way to their first conference crown. This season, Stony Brook has already defeated conference foes Monmouth, Albany, St. Francis (Pa.) and Sacred Heart. The last opponent to beat the Seawolves in conference play was Sacred Heart on October 22, STONE COLD Steve Austin has emerged as a unique weapon out of the backfield for the Seawolves. As a running back, Austin has rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 48 yards and two touchdowns. At Monmouth, Austin completed a 45-yard pass to Dwayne Eley for six points from under center for Stony Brook. In the Homecoming victory over Albany, Austin completed a threeyard touchdown to Saladin Davis for a score. A FAMILIAR MATCHUP The matchup against Albany pits a former player against his former coach as Chuck Priore and Bob Ford square off. Priore played under Ford as a three-year starter at fullback from As a player, Priore rushed for 1,881 yards and averaged 5.4 yards per carry out of the backfield. Priore then went on to be the running backs and strength coach at Albany from Stony Brook defensive line coach Jason Martin also played under Coach Ford from HOME SWEET HOME The Albany game marks the first time the Seawolves have played at fan friendly Kenneth P. LaValle stadium since the season opener against Hofstra. In their four game road swing, the Seawolves traveled over 1,845 miles to play their four games. Last season, Stony Brook was 4-2 at LaValle Stadium, topping Bucknell in week one, falling to Georgetown and Monmouth in weeks three and four, and defeating St. Francis in week six, Wagner in week nine, and Central Connecticut for the conference crown in week 10. MAKING THE CUT Cuttino led the Seawolves ground attack as Stony Brook amassed 202 yards on the ground in its biggest offensive outburst of Cuttino ended the game with a career-high 170 yards on 27 carries. Cuttino broke off a 52-yard run to set up a Matt Weeks field goal and then he scored his first collegiate touchdown on a six-yard run with 7:30 remaining in the first half. GETTING HONORED Freshman running back Conte Cuttino (Uniondale, N.Y.) was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week. Cuttino carried the ball 27 times for 170 yards and a touchdown in Stony Brook s win over previously unbeaten Monmouth on Saturday. For his efforts, Cuttino was also named Stony Brook athlete of the week. A DEFENSIVE STAND The Stony Brook defense capitalized on numerous mistakes by the Monmouth offense, forcing six turnovers in the game. Adam Cooper had an one of four Seawolf interceptions and recovered two fumles. Tyler Santucci, Francis Rivera, and Milo Otis all recorded picks on the day for the Seawolves. DWAYNE S WORLD Dwayne Eley hauled in five passes for a career-high 106 yards and two touchdowns as Stony Brook defeated Monmouth, In the first quarter, Eley caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from running back Steve Austin on a half-back pass. Stony Brook totaled 225 yards through the air against the Hawks. CONFERENCE OPENERS The Seawolves are 1-6 in Northeast Conference openers since the Seawolves joined the league in Their lone win in a conference opener came in 2003 when Stony Brook defeated Wagner, 28-21, on September 20 at LaValle Stadium. DEFENDING CHAMPS The Seawolves take their first step in defending their conference title against Monmouth. Josh Dudash connected with Lynell Suggs on a 10-yard fade pass with 31 seconds to go to lift Stony Brook to a victory over Central Connecticut State in the conference finale to clinch a share of the Northeast Conference Championship last season, the first NEC Championship in program history. The Seawolves won their final three conference games as they went on to be crowned champions. A DEFENSIVE SCORE Chevar Rankins forced Tony Nelson to fumble the ball at the UMass

4 10-yard line and Leonard Wright III picked it up and ran in for Stony Brook s only touchdown of the game against UMass. It was the first defensive score for the Seawolves since October 15, 2005 against St. Francis (Pa.) when Paul Perez returned an interception 35 yards for a score. FINDING THE END ZONE It didn't take long for freshman Anthony Hamilton to make good use of his first ever collegiate snap. Hamilton scampered in from 10 yards out when he kept the option with under a minute left in the first quarter against New Hampshire to score his first collegiate touchdown. FRESHMAN IMPACT Freshman Tyler Santucci made nine stops against UNH to lead the defensive charge for the Seawolves. Also making an impact were Andre Jean-Pierre with eight tackles, seven of which were solo and Dan Michitsch's eight tackles. PLENTY OF OPTIONS Coach Chuck Priore sent out four different quarterbacks to direct the offense against New Hampshire. Starter Andrew Garrett struggled going 3-12 for 21 yards. Josh Dudash replaced Garrett and finished for 112 yards, Dan Sweeny went 2-2 for 11 yards in the game, while Anthony Hamilton recorded one rushing touchdown in his lone play. Dudash orchestrated Stony Brook's longest offensive drive of the year spanning 79 yards on eight plays that took 3:17. The drive was highlighted by Dudash's 47 yard completion to Mike Cosentino. ON THE ROAD AGAIN... After opening up the season against Hofstra at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, the Seawolves are in the midst of a four-game road swing. The trip includes game against Georgetown, UNH, UMass, and Monmouth before Stony Brook plays host to Albany during Homecoming on Oct. 7. IN THE RANKS Saturday's contest against the Minutemen is the second consecutive contest where the Seawolves till take on a Top 10 Division I-AA program. Last week against the Wildcats was the first time the Seawolves squared off against a team ranked number one in the country in football. UNH is currently ranked No. 1 in the Sports Network I-AA Top 25 poll. It was the second time in school history that a Stony Brook team has played a team ranked No. 1 in the country. The only other time it occurred was when the men's lacrosse team faced off against North Carolina on April 21, BLANKED Against the Hoyas, the Seawolves were held scorless for the first time since the second game of 2005 when Hofstra shutout Stony Brook, 55-0, in Hempstead, N.Y. MAKING THE CUT Freshman tailback Conte Cuttino led the Seawolves rushing attack with 14 carries for 45 yards at Georgetown. His longest rush of the afternoon was 12 yards. RICHIE RICH Richie Richards was all over the field against the Hoyas accumulating 10 tackles including a tackle for loss. THE GREAT EIGHT There were eight different receivers that hauled in passes against Georgetown. Dwayne Eley led the receiving corps with seven catches for 81 yards. The group hauled in 19 catches for a total of 190 yards. TAKE IT AWAY MILO Milo Otis recorded the first Stony Brook interception against Georgetown, picking off a pass and returning it seven yards. MERKLE ON THE PROWL Chris Merkle made eight stops against Georgetown and has been a menace on the defensive line all season. DEFENSE, DEFENSE... Adam Cooper and Chris Merkle anchored the Stony Brook defense against Hofstra, as each tallied seven tackles on the game. Hasan Stewart had six tackles and two passes broken up and Richie Richards totaled five tackles and one sack. MIKEY LIKES IT Mike Cosentino led the Stony Brook receiving corps with six catches for 55 yards and a touchdown against Hofstra. Josh Dudash found Cosentino in the right-side of the end zone for the first Seawolf touchdown of the year and the first of Cosentino's career. THE AIR UP THERE Senior punter Sean McGinty had plenty of work against Hofstra with nine punts versus the Pride. He averaged 41.6 yards a punt with his longest reaching 46 yards and landing four punts inside the 20-yard line. THE PRIORE STORY Chuck Priore leads the Seawolves as their head coach, becoming just the the second head football coach in Stony Brook football history. Priore spent the last six seasons at Trinity College where he led the Bantams to a nation-best 30-game winning streak, four consecutive NESCAC conference championships, and three-straight undefeated seasons. Prior to Trinity, Priore spent eight seasons as the offensive coordinatior and offensive line coach at the University of Pennsylvania, where he led the team to three Ivy League titles. Priore spent six years at Union as the offensive coordinator and strength coach. He also was the running backs coach under his college coach Bob Ford at Albany for three seasons. OPENING THE SEASON Stony Brook has a record in season openers since the inception of football in Since moving to Division I in 1999, the Seawolves have gone 2-5 in their opening contests. HOME OPENERS The Seawolves are in their home openers in their history, including going 3-4 since moving to Division I. Since the opening of LaValle Stadium in 2002, the Seawolves are 3-1 in their first contests of the season on the LaValle pitch. THE STREAK When he left Trinity College to head up the Stony Brook program, Coach Priore owned the nation's longest winning streak. The Bantams had won 30 games in a row and four straight NESCAC Conference championships. HOME SWEET HOME Stony Brook was 4-2 at LaValle Stadium last season, topping Bucknell in week one, falling to Georgetown and Monmouth in weeks three and four, defeating St. Francis in week six, Wagner

5 in week nine, and Central Connecticut for the conference crown in week 10. The Great Danes were given four first-place votes, while Central Connecticut State, which earned a share of the conference title the past two years, received one first-place vote. The Seawolves were picked to finish third followed by Monmouth, St. Francis (PA), Wagner, Robert Morris, and Sacred Heart. WELCOME TO THE BROOK On December 9, 2005, Stony Brook announced that Chuck Priore would be the new head football coach for the Seawolves. Priore, who led Trinity College to four consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) titles and a current 30-game winning streak, becomes the second coach in the program s history. SCHOLARSHIP FOOTBALL Following the 2005 season, Stony Brook began to offer football scholarships for the first time in accordance with the NEC s restructured scholarship guidelines. Following the conclusion of the 2006 season, Stony Brook will compete as an independent and plans to phase in incremental increases in scholarship levels on an annual basis with the ultimate goal of reaching the full I-AA complement of 63. NEW LOOK The Seawolves football team will have a new look this year, donning new uniforms in Stony Brook will be sporting a new silver helmet to match silver pants with a red jersey. THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME The Seawolves have posted an 11-6 record at LaValle Stadium over the last three years and have consistently been one of the biggest draws in the Northeast Conference. Last year, against Georgetown, SB drew 6,028 fans to fan-friendly LaValle Stadium, the fifth largest crowd in SB's football history. AYE, AYE CAPTAINS Stony Brook will have four captains in 2006: Chris Tomasky, Dan Michitsch, Assad Hafiz, and Mike Cosentino will lead the Seawolves in FOR THE FIRST TIME Stony Brook will start nine players for the first time this season, six of them on the offensive side of the ball. The offensive side will see Steve Council, Ali Khawaja, and Matt Smeader starting while Lynell Suggs, Assad Hafiz, and J.J. Cox will also get the starting nod. On defense, Adam Cooper, Chevar Rankins, and Cory Giddings will all suit up for the first time as Seawolves as starters.
