The toughest task this season for is replacing all five starters on the offensive line, including tackle Chris Glaser (now at Virginia) and ll-gcc center Nate estrich. The quarterback also will be new - J.T. Caver entered camp as the favorite and has taken over. ike Joe Bubonics last year, Caver enters as a returning starter at safety. The defense and skill positions should be strong as highlighted in the eek 1 win over urora - led by Cincinnati commit Taj ard at cornerback and receiver. Running back Thomas ilks is coming off a 1,320-yard rushing season with 21 touchdowns. The Tigers went on the road and dominated Copley, 34-14, in the season opener. The offense was very balanced, racking up 182 yards passing and 216 yards rushing. Cam Ron McClain rushed 20 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns. Seth Grabowski and dam Van de Motter split time at quarterback and were both very effective each threw for a TD. Tre Radford caught a pair of scores. Defensively, Twinsburg will rely on linebackers James Grammens and Isaiah Savitt to slow down the Comets. Defensive end Rashad Jones-and had a big game in the opening win at Copley. 2 TIGERS RECP BIG SECOND F IFTS TIGERS TO EEK 1 IN Twinsburg TIGERS 34 Copley INDINS 14 Twinsburg set the tone for the 2017 season in emphatic fashion with a win at Copley on ug. 25. The Tigers outscored the Indians, 2, in the second half to move to on the year and win their fourth game in a row dating back to last season. The Indians struck first on a 5-yard TD run by Blake Traylor. Seth Grabowski answered for the Tigers with a 19-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 7-6 heading into the second quarter. Cam'Ron McClain scored the first of his two touchdowns on the night to put Twinsburg back on top, owever, Copley reclaimed the lead at heading into halftime. Twinsburg dominated the second half, shutting out Copley. 3 ED COC MIKE BE IRED FEBRURY 4, 2015 Mike Bell is in his third year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg. Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at ake Catholic in Mentor. In 12 seasons at ake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NC Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010). Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in Prior to coaching at ake Catholic, Bell spent three years at illoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple eights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley. Twinsburg officials say 's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices -- from football, to soccer, to Relay For ife, to regional sporting events. In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. 5 1ST ND TEN IT CSEY KIRTEY Kirtley is Director of Scoreboard Operations at 1. ow did you get involved with football operations at Twinsburg? I applied and was accepted for the position of V Technical Manager in the spring. I believe my degree in broadcast journalism, my experience working on the scoreboard crews for the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers, and 20 years of experience teaching video production to high school students secured the position for me. 2. Can you describe some of the features of the new scoreboard? The scoreboards can both show prerecorded video files like past team highlight films along with still and motion graphics. The stadium system adds in the capability to show live video from multiple sources and show replays and slow motion highlights. The still and motion graphics and videos are meant to more closely connect the fans to the action and athletes on the field and improve their visual experience. Ravens QB Vinnie Testeverde ran for a touchdown, so did running back Earnest Byner in the win. Kick Matt Stover connected on two field goals The Ravens came into existance in February of 1996 after Cleveland Browns owner rt Modell, financially struggling and at odds with the local Cleveland politicians, announced he was relocating his club from Cleveland to Baltimore. Enticed by Baltimore's available funds for a first-class stadium and a promised yearly operating subsidy of $25 million dollars, Modell announced on November 6, 1995 his intention to relocate the team from Cleveland to Baltimore the following year. The resulting controversy ended when representatives of Cleveland and the NF reached a settlement on February 8, Part of the agreement stipulated that the Browns' name, colors, uniform design and franchise records would remain in Cleveland. The franchise history includes Browns club records and connections with Pro Football all of Fame players. Modell's Baltimore team, while retaining all current player contracts, would, for purposes of team history, appear as an expansion team, a new franchise. Following the agreement, the Baltimore franchise was rebranded as the Ravens, to honor the city's link to Edgar llen Poe, writer of the poem, The Raven.
