EXECUTION Everyone has dreams of being great, but to actually go out and make it happen through hard work is something we strive for. It has to do with effort. The nice thing is individually we control all of those things in PCE, Bell said. The Comets defense shined brightest in the fourth quarter, as they were able to stop the Greenmen not once, but twice on fourth down at the Solon 1. Van de Motter led the way for Twinsburg in the win over visiting Copley, completing 17 of 27 passes with 5 TDs and 499 total yards of offense. Dominick Glenn, Jameel Banks and James Bessett all had over 100 yards receiving. Defensively, Rashad Jones-and and idan Malenchek had solid games vs. Copley and will be counted on to slow down Eichelberger and the Solon ground attack. 2 TIGERS REIND Copley Indians 28 Twinsburg TIGERS Friday, ugust 24, 2018; TINSBURG TIGERS Players of the eek 49 Twinsburg senior quarterback dam Van de Motter was given the sole control of the offense in 2018 after splitting time at the position the last few years. Van de Motter wasted no time taking advantage of the role, running up 499 yards of total offense and accounting for five total touchdowns in leading the Tigers to a win over Copley in eek 1. Van de Motter hooked up with Dominick Glenn (5 catches, 163 yards) for touchdowns twice in the first quarter to put Twinsburg in the early lead. The Indians were able to catch the Tigers at 21 to tie the score at halftime. In the second half, Van de Motter threw two more touchdowns, and Jamir James and Phillip allace scored on the ground to put the victory away. Jameel Banks caught a pair of TDs and finished with 124 yards receiving. James Besett also went over 100 yards receiving for Twinsburg. The Tigers had over 600 yards of offense. Not long after, sophomore tailback Khalil Eichelberger went two yards into the end zone. The two-point conversion play was successful with Pat McQuaide completing a three yard pass to Najee Story. Both the second and third quarters saw Khalil Eichelberger with touchdown runs and arrison Rich with successful extra point attempts. The Comets offensive effort featured Quarterback Jimmy Casamento completing six passes for 36 yards and Quarterback Pat McQuaide connecting through the air five times for 67 yards. Defensively for Solon, Jeff Barnett led the way with 10 tackles, of which five were tackles for loss. 3 ED COC MIKE BE IRED FEBRURY 4, 2015 Mike Bell is in his fourth year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg. Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at ake Catholic in Mentor. In 12 seasons at ake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NC Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010). Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in Prior to coaching at ake Catholic, Bell spent three years at illoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple eights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley. Part of that is the involvement of those outside of the players and coaches, including the administration, the community and perhaps most importantly, the football parents. Bell said the Tigers are extremely lucky to have the support of The Gridiron Club at Twinsburg and he doesn t take it for granted. Twinsburg is one of the most used athletic facilities in Northeast Ohio. Twinsburg officials say 's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices -- from football, to soccer, to Relay For ife, to regional sporting events. In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. I was fortunate to play this wonderful game for over a decade and now I am here coaching at my alma mater! Upon College Graduation I was contacted by my former high school coach! 2 - what was it about Coach Bell and the program that enticed you to join the Tigers staff? - Coach Bell is not only an amazing coach, but a great role model, leader, and PERSON! I love the family atmosphere that we have as a staff and program.
