Baylor leads the series and has won the last eight meetings. Baylor has not lost to Hardin-Simmons since the season (Baylor lost both meetings in Waco). Baylor is all-time vs. current NCAA Division III member schools, including vs. NCAA Division III schools from Texas. Scott Drew is 5-1 vs. non-ncaa Division I schools. Baylor (3-0) is aiming for its third consecutive 4-0 start under head coach Scott Drew. Ekpe Udoh scored a career-high 21 points and hit the game-winning shot before time ran out to lift Baylor to a win over Hartford. LaceDarius Dunn scored a game-high 32 points including a personal best 25 first-half points in Baylor s season-opening win over Norfolk State (Nov. 13). Dunn was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week Monday after averaging 30.5 points in two Baylor victories last week. Dunn has made a 3-pointer in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season. Dunn has scored in double figures in each of his last 16 games dating back to last season. Dunn ranks 16th on Baylor's career scoring list with 1,109 points. Dunn has point games and three 30-point games in 73 career contests. Baylor has improved its season win total in each of the last three seasons and five times in Drew s first six seasons at the helm in Waco. Seventh-year Baylor head coach Scott Drew has 84 wins to his credit at the helm of the Bears men s basketball program. Drew currently ranks sixth all-time at Baylor and trails former head coach Gene Iba (98) by 14 for fifth place. Baylor has nine underclassmen, which ranks third in the Big 12 (11, Nebraska; 10, Kansas; 9, BU and Oklahoma) and 20th among NCAA Division I schools. The Bears possess only four upperclassmen, fewest in the Big 12 and ninth nationally. Baylor is 22-5 in the month of November under Drew. Baylor has won 13 of its last 14 non-conference November home games. Baylor returns to the hardwood Thanksgiving night vs. Alabama in the first round of the 2009 Old Spice Classic. WEDNESDAY November 25 PRE-PRACTICE INTERVIEWS PREVIEWING HARDIN-SIMMONS Hardin-Simmons, which posted a 9-16 record under first-year head coach Craig Carse, returns five letterwinners and welcomes nine newcomers in Baylor is Hardin-Simmons only Division I opponent this season. Senior guard Carlos Singer is the Cowboys leading returning scorer with 12.1 points in 20 games a season ago. Junior guard Casey Riddle, who averaged 6.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 25 games, averaged 10.0 points and 4.8 assists over the last 12 games a year ago. Of Hardin-Simmons five returning letterwinners, Riddle started the most games last season eight. Singer and Courtney Lockridge each started five. THURSDAY November 26 GAME 5 vs. Alabama Old Spice Classic 5:30 p.m. CST ESPN2 LAST TIME OUT VS. HARDIN-SIMMONS [NOV. 17, 2001] Kenny Taylor scored a game-high 21 points, while Lawrence Roberts added 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead Baylor past Hardin-Simmons, Kevin Henry's three layups fueled a 10-0 run in the game's first three minutes as Baylor took an 11-2 lead. The Cowboys cut the lead to 15-8 at 15:31 on Bryan Conover's jumper, but Baylor went on another 10-0 run for a lead and Hardin-Simmons never threatened again. Chad Elsey had 16 and three other players each had 10 for Baylor. Roberts also had four blocks and six steals. Taylor was 5-of-7 from the 3-point line. Down by 22 at halftime, Hardin-Simmons scored only 18 points in the second half, hitting just 19.4 percent of its shots. The record of 66 points, a win over Austin College, occurred on November 24, UP NEXT [OLD SPICE CLASSIC] For the second consecutive season, Baylor will participate in an ESPN-sponsored tournament during the Thanksgiving break. This season, the Bears will participate in the Old Spice Classic on the campus of Disney s Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Baylor opens the Old Spice Classic against Alabama Thanksgiving night at 5:30 p.m. CST on ESPN2. Jon Sciambi (pxp) and Fran Fraschilla (analyst) will serve as the talent for the ESPN broadcast. BU is 1-5 all-time vs. Alabama and has lost five straight series meetings. Baylor s lone series win came in the first meeting, Dec. 31, Baylor will play either Florida State or Iona Friday, Nov. 27. Baylor is 0-2 all-time vs. Florida State and has never played Iona. LAST TIME OUT [NOV. 16, 2009 VS. SOUTHERN] LaceDarius Dunn scored 13 points and Baylor rolled to its third victory in four days to open the season, 61-45, over Southern. The Bears took control by scoring 13 consecutive points over a five-minute span in the first half, capped when Dunn made two free throws with 9 minutes 51 seconds left to make it That came less than a minute after Dunn hit a 3-pointer, with A.J. Walton converting a steal into a breakaway layup between Dunn's scoring plays. Walton finished with nine points and five steals. Ekpe Udoh chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks, posting his third straight game with 10-plus points. The 45 points scored by Southern were the fewest allowed ever by a Drew-coached Baylor team. A YEAR AGO SUNDAY: ACY SETS BAYLOR, BIG 12 RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE FG MADE Quincy Acy was a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor in an win over Southern (Nov. 22, 2008), setting a Baylor and Big 12 record with 18 consecutive made field goals. Acy bested Texas A&M s DeAndre Jordan s previous mark of 17 in a row. Acy made his first 20 field goals to start the season.

BAYLOR SEEKS THIRD CONSECUTIVE 4-0 START Baylor is seeking its third consecutive 4-0 start under seventh-year head coach Scott Drew. Baylor has started 4-0 six times in the last 10 seasons two under Drew and four under former head coach Dave Bliss. Bliss four 4-0 starts are the most by a Baylor coach in the modern era. It was the first player honor for Dunn after he won top rookie honors twice during the season. The Monroe, La., native is the first Bear to earn top player recognition since Kevin Rogers did it in Dunn averaged 30.5 points as Baylor won its first two games of the season. The junior guard started the year with a game-high 32 points in the Bears' win over Norfolk State (Nov. 13). He followed with a game-high 29 points, including six three-point field goals, in Baylor's victory over Hartford (Nov. 15). In two outings, Dunn shot 48.8 percent (21-of-43) from the floor, including 50 percent (10-of-20) from 3-point range. He also buried 90 percent (9-of-10) of his shots from the free throw line.
