In Baylor s eight 20-win seasons, the Bears have advanced to the postseason every time. Head coach Scott Drew has led Baylor to 20-win seasons in five of the last six years after the Bears had only three 20-win seasons in the program s first 101 seasons. Drew is the only Baylor coach to amass five 20-win seasons and five postseason appearances. Additionally, Chad Rykhoek is expected to play after sitting out last season as a redshirt. 24 GRADUATES IN DREW ERA Baylor has graduated 24 players during the Scott Drew era, including three who played in the NBA. Matt Sayman (2004); Robbie McKenzie (2004); Ryan Pryor (2005); Tommy Swanson (2006); Kevis Shipman (2006); Tim Bush (2007); Patrick Fields (2007); Richard Hurd (2008); Mark Shepherd (2008); Mamadou Diene (2008); Kevin Rogers (2009); Curtis Jerrells (2009); Henry Dugat (2009); David Wesley (2009); Delbert Simpson (2009); Tweety Carter (2010); Josh Lomers (2010); Aaron Bruce (2010), Fred Ellis (2010 bachelor s 2012 master s), Ekpe Udoh (2011), Terry Black (2011), Quincy Acy (2012), Anthony Jones (2012) and A.J. Walton (2013). A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE ON THE FIELD A year after watching all 19 of its teams reach postseason play for the first time in school history ( ), Baylor s season produced a strong encore, as it advanced 17 teams to postseason play and won five Big 12 Conference championships. BU s five conference titles were one shy of a school record and brought the Bears alltime Big 12 total to 50 championships, which ranks fourth among current Big 12 teams just one behind third-place Oklahoma State. Throw in 26 All-America awards, 13 season-ending Big 12 individual awards and 139 All-Big 12 citations for good measure, and the year went down as another strong one in the Baylor record book. For the first time in school history, seven sitting Baylor head coaches hold their respective program s records for career wins, including Jim Barnes (volleyball), Marci Jobson (women s soccer), Matt Knoll (men s tennis), Glenn Moore (softball), Kim Mulkey (women s basketball), Joey Scrivano (women s tennis) and Steve Smith (baseball). All-told, these seven have combined for 2,456 victories in 87 years of service to Baylor. Men s basketball coach Scott Drew needs just 24 wins to break Bill Henderson s BU record, which has stood for more than 50 years. Of course, no one is likely to match the longevity record of Baylor s Clyde Hart, who completed his 50th year on the Baylor staff in , the first 42 as the program s head coach and the last eight as its director of track & field at his alma mater.
