1 PROGRESSIVE FAST BREAK DRILL NEWSLETTER # Team A is at one end of the court, Team B is at the other end. Both teams are lined up along their corresponding baselines. The drill starts with a on situation with Team A having a on advantage over Team B. They play until the on either is scored or Team B gets a "stop". Next, two Team B players join the one Team B player who was defending the on and they attack the two Team A members originally on offense. A on takes place with Team B having three players and Team A having two. They play until the on is scored or Team A gets a "stop". Next, two Team A players join the two Team A players who were defending the on and they attack the three Team B members originally on the offensive end of the on break. Once again, they play until the on is scored or Team B gets a "stop". Finally, two Team B players join the three Team B players who were defending the on and they attack the three Team A members originally on the offensive end of the on break. Once again, they play until the on is scored or Team A gets a "stop". Three or four of these games can be played in eight minutes. With each new game the opposite team starts with a two on one advantage. Keep score as if it were a "real game". ON FULL COURT CONTINUITY DRILL The drill begins with six players at the full court level. Play begins on. The offense must execute an "action of the day"., as a continuity The following actions are possible. a) Flare screens. b) Screen away. c) Interchange away. d) On ball screen. e) Inside cut. The offense strictly runs one of these actions in a continuity. The defense stays with their principles and they defend the action. Before the offense crosses half court, the continuity takes place but the ability to score off of this continuity is unavailable for the offense. However, once the three offensive players cross half court and approach the NBA pt line the continuity allows the offense the ability to score. If the continuity is defended by the defense and no shot is attempted, a coach can call "live" which means anything goes on offense and a shot can be attempted at any time.
