M Newsletter DEC 2010/ JAN 2011 FIRST SUNDAY MATCHES By James Cravener, Match Director LOW POWER MATCH, REGULAR LOW POWER MATCH Reported by Scott Davis Scope shooters still out numbered the iron sight shooters this month but not as bad as last month. There were nine iron sight shooters and 12 scope shooters. In the iron sight category Ernie Edmonston took top honors with a score of 30. Ernie knocked down 7 chickens, 9 pigs, 6 turkeys and 8 rams. Ernie used a TC-Contender carbine chambered for the.30 Carbine cartridge, he shot the Lyman grain cast bullet ahead of 11 grains H-116. Other winners were: Scott Davis master with a score of 23, Jim Pruett AAA with a score of 27(this was after a shoot-off with James Cravener), Sonny Odell- AA with a score of 18, and Susan Odell won A class with a score of 9. Joel Castelo won unclassified with a score of 18, which now classifies as A. In the scope category Charlie Corn won overall with a score of 34(this was after a shoot-off with Ernie Lewis) Charlie knocked over 8 chickens, 10 pigs, 7 turkeys, and 9 rams. Charlie shot a BSA Martini in.22lr with American eagle ammunition. Other winners were: Ernie Lewis-Master (by default) score 34, Mike Russo AAA (after a shoot-off with Randy Dana) with a score of 31, 2 nd AAA was Randy Dana with a score of 31, Dara Dana A class with a score of 16, and unclassified went to Bob Elder with a score of 31, which now classifies him as AAA. In the Cowboy Low Power Match today, Bill Hamilton won Over All with the score of 30, Bill also won the Cowboy 22 Match with the score of 30. Other winners in the Cowboy Low Power Match were Ernie Edmonston, Class AAA with 25, Mike Russo, Class AA with 29, and Virdis Isler won B Class with 21. In the Cowboy 22 Match, AA Class went to Janet Bloomer with 23, and Unclassified went to newcomer Ben Allen with 25. Bill Hamilton was real busy again today shooting 4 guns in two relays, but didn t quite cut the mustard with pistols. Russ Gould from Clovis won both Big Bore and Small Bore pistol matches with 27 and 26. Bill was close behind, but no brass ring. Others out today were John Hudson, Bob Beeson, Alan Bloomer, Scotty Davis, Randy Dana, Jim Pruett, and myself. It was a little on the breezy side today and nearly everyone came up with a jacket letting us know that winter is just around the corner We also had some scattered rain showers to add to the mix. Here are some match results from previous months that were turned in after the Oct/Nov issue went to print Aug 14 th USPSA/IPSC Match By Danny Moore, Match Director Today, August 14 th, being a 2nd Saturday, we held a 5 stage match. We had 22 shooters come out and play. The match winner was James Scordato, who also won stages 1 and4. 2 nd place was L.J. Montano who also won stages 3 and 5. 3 rd place went to Jordan Ohlmann who also won stage 2. We had some old USPSA shooters show up and join us again. We also had 4 senior shooters this match There was also a great turn out for a AR-15 side match, that was also won by James Scordato. Sept 11th USPSA/IPSC Match By Danny Moore, Match Director Today, Sept 11 th, being a 2nd Saturday, we held a 5 stage match. We had 32 shooters come out and play. The match winner

2 was James Scordato, who also won stages 2,4 and5. 2 nd place was L.J. Montano who also won stage 1. 3 rd place went to Charlie Corn. Mark Miller won stage 3. We had a hand full of new shooters come out and shoot this match. We hope to see them come back. It appeared the hostage targets took their toll on the shooters this match. But all in all everybody had a good time LIONS CLUB TURKEYSHOOT, SOUTHEASTERN NM HI POWER RIFLE LEAGUE, SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 By Jerry King I would like to thank Dave Crider for running this months High Power match as I was on vacation. There were only seven shooters that showed up on Saturday for the match. It was bolt gun Saturday a couple of the gas gunners going to their bolt guns. Walt Garfield Bill Lamb Paul Myers Dave Crider Steve Jones Jamie Schuster Scott Landry High Power Rifle Silhouette Match, By Bill Kennedy Match Director USPSA/IPSC Match By Danny Moore, Match Director Today, Oct 9 th, being a 2nd Saturday, we held a 5 stage match. We had 30 shooters come out and play. The match winner was James Scordato, who also won stages 1,2,3,4 and 5. 2 nd place was Russ Baisly 3 rd place went to Danny Moore. We had 7 new shooters come out and shoot this match. We hope to see them come back. We also had 6 Seniors shoot with us this match. The stages seem to put all the shooters skills to the test, but everybody seemed to have a good time. Hopefully, we have some more in the next match. Hope to see ya there. The day started off with a chill, but the light gusty winds caused more of a problem. The other big problem was that I had come down with a cold and had to get Scotty Davis and John Wostal to call the relays. We had four shooters and of those was one two gunner. In the end Alan Bloomer out shot us all to win the match. He used a Ruger M77 chambered in 308 loaded with a 150 BTSP and 40 grains of 4064 to a final score of 11. He took 5 chickens, 3 pigs, 2 turkeys, and 1 ram, all with iron sights. John Wostal was the A class winner. He took 1 chicken, 2 pigs, and 1 ram ending with 4. James Cravener won B class with 1 chicken, 1 pig, 2 turkeys and 2 rams totaling 6. I finished just outside the glory with 5. Hopefully some more brave shooters will come out and try this humbling match next time. Thank you to all the people that shot the match and the guys who came out to watch. 3 200 Meter Cast Bullet Military Rifle Match, 10 October 2010 By Juan Paco A cool and breezy morning, we still had 13 shooters come out and play. Overall was won by Ernie Lewis. He finished the day with a score of 30. He had all 10 chickens, 8 pigs, 6 turkeys and 6 rams. He was using his 03A3 with a 150 grain RCBS bullet and 25 grains of RX7. One more score like that and he gets bumped up to the AAA class. Master class was won by Ernie Edmonston with a 29. For those keeping score he hit 9 pigs for a personal record of 370 times doing so. AAA went to John Thoesen with a 25, AA went to Bob Beeson with a 22, A went to Jim Byrd with a 21. Special Holiday O.F. Cast Bullet Match, We had a paltry five shooters show-up for our Special Holiday Cast Bullet Match. The nice thing about only five shooters is that everybody won at least something. Overall Scope-class winner went to Ernie Lewis with a 34. Nice shooting, even though he was the only scope shooter. Ernie was shooting his Remington 700 in.308 with a RCBS 150 gr. gas checked bullet and 22 gr. IMR In the Iron Sight category, Overall winner was yours truly with a 29. I was using a sporterized K-98 Mauser in 8X57-MM with a SAECO 190 gr. gas checked bullet and 22 gr. Reloader #7. Masterclass went to Ernie Edmonston with a 27, AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 24, and AA-class went to Jim Byrd with a 26. OF Cowboy Match We had six shooters show-up for our monthly OF Cowboy Match. Overall winner was Alan Bloomer with a score of 31. Alan was shooting his Marlin.357 Magnum. AAA-Class was won by Ernie Edmonston with a score of 30, AA-class went to yours truly with a 22, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a 9. The other shooters were Scotty Davis and Jim Pruett. SOUTHEASTERN NM HI POWER RIFLE LEAGUE OCTOBER 16, 2010 By Jerry King This was the last match for the year and the last match for Across the Course here in Roswell. Next year we are going to be doing F Class here in Roswell. We will shoot only 600 yards until we get the 500 yard shooting berm built, and we will use the 600 yard target from across the course. The number of shots will be 40 for record plus sighters run in two relays. This is not an NRA league match, because it is not a true Mid Range course. Once we get the 500 yard shooting berm built, then we can shoot the true Mid Range course: yards. At the completion of the 500 yard shooting berm, we will then become a sanctioned Mid Range League.. Roswell will have the Mid Range and Capitan will have the Long Range shooting range. The last day of shooting here in Roswell was a little chilly, but it warmed up by 9 A..M.. We had eight shooters shooting their last match here in Roswell. There was a slight breeze in the beginning, but it turned out to be a very nice day to shoot. There was a mirage back at the 600 yard shooting berm, and you had to keep up with it. MATCH WINNERS Walt Garfield Match Winner Bill Lamb Expert Class Winner MATCH SCORES 1. The Bowling Pin Matches have been discontinued for the winter, so we have been shooting a Low Power match instead on the third Saturday. Overall Scope-class winner went to Alan Bloomer with a 34. Alan was shooting his Remington Model 700 in.222 Remington with a 60 gr. cast bullet with gas check and 14 gr. of 2230 powder. AAA-class went to Randy Dana with a 31, AA-class went to the lovely Janet Bloomer with a 26, and A-class went to Jim Montgomery with a 21. In the Iron Sight category, overall winner was Ernie Edmonston with a 31. Ernie was using a 100-year old Model 1892 Winchester in with a Remington-Peters 100 gr. jacketed bullet and 5 gr. Unique. AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 25, AAclass went to yours truly with a 25, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a 19. Other iron sight shooters included Carroll Hargrove and Jim Pruett. 3

4 COWBOY MATCH OF Today was a beautiful day for shooting, not too hot, not too cold, and best of all, no wind. There was also a good crowd of 18 shooters on hand, 1 from Carlsbad, 5 from Clovis, and 12 locals. Not many people wanted to win the Match as they let me win it with the score of 31, 8 chickens, 8 pigs, 9 turkeys, and 6 rams. I used a 84 year old Winchester model 94 in caliber 25-35, a R-P 117 gr. bullet and 28.5 gr. WW 760. James Cravener was one point behind to win AAA Class with 30, John Hudson won 1 st AA Class with 28 and, after a shoot off with Mike Russo, Bob Beeson won 2 nd AA Class with 25. A Class was won by Mike Braun of Clovis with 22. Garrett Ford, also of Clovis, won B Class and a promotion to A Class with the score of 17. It doesn t happen often, so it s worthy to note that we sent Bill Hamilton back to Carlsbad today with less money than he got here with. Bill usually comes up here and picks us like Thanksgiving turkeys, but didn t quite get it done today. I suspect that he will be back with a vengeance. O.F. Cast Bullet Match We had a ten shooters show-up for our OF Cast Bullet Match. Overall Scope-class winner went to Ernie Lewis with a 34. Ernie was shooting his Remington Model 700 in.308 Winchester with a 150 gr. cast bullet. AAA-class went to Tom Hargrove with a 29. We had a new unclassified shooter in Ron Young, who shot an 11 his first time out and is now a B-class shooter. Other scope shooters included Carroll Hargrove. In the Iron Sight category, overall winner was Ernie Edmonston with a 34. Ernie was using a Model 1912 Chilean Mauser in 7.62-MM NATO with a 160 gr. Cramer cast bullet and 18 gr. of 4759 powder. AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 31, AA-class went to yours truly with a 21, after a tie and shootoff with Jim Byrd, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a 14. Other iron sight shooters included Alan Bloomer. DENNIS SULLIVAN 22 MATCH, Today was a rather busy day at the range. Not only did we have one of our more popular matches, but Congressman Steve Pearce stopped in to chat and reaffirm his support for us gun owners and our rights under the 2 nd amendment. There were also some dignitaries from Gun Owners of America on hand along with some of Steve s staff, press, etc. All in all, we had a very positive meeting with him. There were approximately 40 Gun Club members who dropped in. In the Match itself, there were 29 shooters who signed up, 11 using iron sights and 18 using scoped rifles. The weather would have been very nice except for an annoying breeze, but there were several scores turned in over 30. In the iron sight category, I turned in the high score of 36, missing one pig, one turkey, and 2 rams to win Overall. Bill Hamilton managed to win Master class with 22, Bob Beeson won AAA Class with 33, Keith Odell won AA Class with 21, Bill Jones won A Class and Mike Borem won Unclassified with 24 which shot him right into AA Class. The Scope Match was quite a different story as four shooters tied for Overall with the score of 34. By the time the shoot off smoke had cleared, Bob Elder had won Overall, Charlie Corn had won Master Class, Erma Corn had won 1 st AAA Class and a promotion to Master Class, and Randy Dana had won 2 nd AAA Class. Janet Bloomer won AA Class outright with 24, Jim Montgomery won A Class and was promoted to AA Class with 26, and Dominic Leonetti won unclassified honors. CAST BULLET MATCH Alan Boomer Bloomer, Match Director No matter how much you push the envelope it will still be stationery. We had 15 shooters come out for our match. Six scoped rifle shooters and eight iron sight shooters. About half way through the match it got kind of breezy. In the scoped shooter crowd Bill Hamilton won overall with 9 chickens, 10 pigs, 7 turkeys, and 8 rams for a score of 34. Master class went to Charlie Corn for a score of 29, and AAA went to Dave Farmer with a score of 30. In the iron sight bunch, I Boomer won overall with 4 chickens, 9 pigs, 9 turkeys, and 5 rams for a total score of 27. Bill Hamilton won Master class with a score of 21, Ernie Edmonston won AAA with a score of 25, Mike Russo won AA with a score of 22, and Ron Young won unclassified with a 12. The wind didn t help the scores any. We appreciate all the shooters showing up to have all the fun. 4

5 Special Cast Bullet Match By John Hudson Match Director We had a ten shooters show-up for our Special Cast Bullet Match. This is a month with a fifth Wednesday and no scheduled match, so we decided to conduct a special cast bullet match. Overall Scope-class winner went to Ernie Lewis with a 36. Ernie was shooting his Remington Model 700 in.308 Winchester with a 150 gr. cast bullet. AAA-class went to Tom Hargrove with a 29. AA-class went to Bill Hamilton with a 34. In the Iron Sight category, overall winner was Bob Beeson with a 31. Master Class went to Ernie Edmonston with a 28. AAAclass went to Scotty Davis with a 18, AA-class went to Mike Russo with a 24, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a 16. Other iron sight shooters included yours truly and Bill Hamilton. 5 TH SATURDAY MATCH, The weather was absolutely beautiful today, but only 7 shooters were on hand for the match we have whenever we have 5 Saturdays in a month. The match consists of shooting the 200m Silhouette course with cowboy type pistol caliber rifles. I can only guess that everyone is used to shooting in the wind as I was surprised that better scores were not recorded. My score of 31 was the highest of the day, all 10 chickens, 9 pigs, 5 turkeys, and 7 rams using a Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited bullet launcher in.357 caliber. I used a Lyman bullet of about 158 gr. ahead of 14.0 gr. of H-108. Alan Bloomer won AAA Class with 28, John Hudson won AA Class with another 28, Sonny Odell won A Class with 14, and Ron Young won Unclassified for his first time out with TH SUNDAY MATCH By James Cravener, Match Director Today we tried a new match out. We put out the full size silhouette chickens at 200, 300, 385, and 500 meters. Everything was shot from the bench. The wind stayed calm half way through then picked up a little. The Winner was Tom Hargrove with 35. 2nd place was Randy Dana with 29. Ernie Edmonston and Alan Bloomer tied with 21 and Ernie conceded 3 rd place to Alan. John Hudson took 5th with 19. Others who were out today were John Wostal, Bob Beeson, Bob Elder, and me. We enjoyed the match enough that we are going to continue it on 5th Sundays and alternate it with 500 meter high power. A beautiful fall day for shooting, and we had a great turnout. Overall Scope-class winner went to Ernie Lewis with a 34. Master Class went to Tom Hargrove with a 33, AAA-class went to yours truly with a 25, and AA-class went to Bob Elder with a 25. Other scope shooters included Bobby Beeson, Bill Newman, Mike Russo, Jim Montgomery, and Sam Morley In the Iron Sight category, overall winner went to Ernie Edmonston with a 28. AAA-class went to Jim Pruett with a 18, AAclass went to Alan Bloomer with a 15, and we had one unclassified shooter in Ron Young, who was promoted to B-class. Other iron sight shooters included Sonny Odell, and Scotty Davis. REGULAR LOW POWER MATCH Reported by Scott Davis Twenty-three shooters signed up for this month s competition. Fourteen scope shooters and nine iron sight shooters. Charlie Corn again took overall in the scope category with a score of 37. Charlie managed to shoot 10 chickens, 10 pigs, 9 turkeys and 8 rams. Other winners were: Master-Tom Hargrove score 33, AAA-Jim Pruett score 31, 2 nd AAA-Randy Dana score 30 (Randy accomplished this in a shoot-off with John Hudson) and Bart Goetz won AA with a score of 21. And a first time shooter Dominic Leonetti took unclassified with a score of 13. In the iron sight category James Cravener took top honors with a score of 27. James shot 6 chickens, 8 pigs, 6 turkeys and 6 rams. Other winners were: Master-Scott Davis score 26, AAA- Ronnie Gould score 25, AA Keith Odell score 23, A-Susan Odell score 24, B-Dara Dana score 11. And Ron Young a first time shooter won unclassified with a score of 8. 1st SUNDAY MATCH, By James Cravener, Match Director Today was a nice, warm, clear day for the Cowboy Low Power and Hunter Pistol Matches. Twelve shooters were on hand for both matches, one, Bill Hamilton, shot both. Russ Gould came down from Clovis for the pistol match along with David from Hobbs and Bill Hamilton from Carlsbad. Everyone won since they were all in different classes. Nobody signed up for the Cowboy 22 Rifle Match, but 10 shot the Cowboy Low Power Match. 5

6 Bill Hamilton won Overall with 30, Scotty Davis won AAA Class with 20, 1 st AA went to Mike Russo with 28, 2 nd AA went to Alan Bloomer with 26, A Class went to Marty Tressell with 15, B Class went to Virdis Isler with 24 along with a promotion to A Class. Others out today were John Hudson, Jim Pruett, Bob Beeson, and myself. O. F. Any Reported by Scott Davis Nine shooters signed up for this month s match. I officiated as Jim Pruett had an appointment with the Doctor. I hope everything is all right Jim. Alan Bloomer won over-all in the scope category, after a grueling (3 shoot) shoot- off with John Thoesen. Alan Shot a Ruger 10/22 with CCI- Mini Mag ammo for a score of 32. He shot 9 chickens, 9 pigs, 8 turkeys, and 6 rams. John Thoesen won Master by default. John Hudson won AAA with a score of 30. And Jim Byrd won AA with a score of 31. Only two competitors shot iron sights. Scott Davis won Over-all with a score of 23. Scott shot a Stevens M-44 with CCIstandard velocity ammo. He was successful on 7 chickens, 8 pigs, 3 turkeys, and 5 rams. Sonny Odell won A class with a score of 22. Other shooters were Ernie Lewis, Sam Morley, and Paula Thoesen. Let us salute all the men and women, past and present, who served our country. Where would we be without them? High Power Match, We only had a four shooters show-up for our monthly High Power Match. We d had the first hard freeze the night before, so I guess all the fair-weather shooters stayed home in bed. A couple of shooters had some mechanical or sight problems, and our scores reflected it. Overall Scope-class winner went to Alan Bloomer with his multimillion dollar scope, who shot a In the Iron Sight category, overall winner went to John Wostel with a four. A-class scope went to yours truly with a 4, and B-class went to James Cravener with a 2. Thanks to the stout-hearts who showed-up to shoot. USPSA / IPSC Match by Bob Scribner,Match Director Danny Moore Saturday was a beautiful day for this months match. Turnout was good with 28 shooters in attendance with 11 USPSA members and many RGC members. After an absence for numerous months on my part, it was good to see some new faces and meet some new shooters. It's great to see that with continued support from all of our out of town shooters and growing interest from local people this match continues to grow. Our Match Director, Danny Moore did not shoot this match due to some recent surgery on his hand and I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing him a speedy and complete recovery and hope he'll be back shooting soon. Also, James Scordato will be running the 1 st SCSA Steel Challenge match at the Roswell Gun Club, which will be held on the 3 rd Saturday of each month. This match will probably catch on in short order and become very popular with IPSC shooters and hopefully many others. Stage winners for this months match were: Russ Baisly taking stages 1,2 and 4, and James Scordato taking stages 3 and 5. There was a shotgun side match after the pistol match but I don't have the results from that to include here. Next months match should include a RIFLE side match. Overall went to Ernie Edmonston with a very nice score of 34 and a half. He had a ram that stood stubbornly after the trigger pull but that would not have happened with a heavier bullet. He still managed all 10 chickens, 9 pigs, 8 turkeys and 7 ½ rams. His rifle of choice was the ever popular 03A3. The bullet was a 165 grain Cramer and propelled by 25.0 grains of Reloader #7. AAA was won by James Cravener with a 26, AA was Scotty Davis with a 22, A class went to Jim Byrd with an 18, and B class went to Alan Jones with a 16. Thanks to all participants and see you next month. O.F. Cowboy Match By John Hudson,Match Director We only had a four shooters show-up for our monthly O.F. Cowboy Match. The temperature was in the 20 s, so I guess all the fair-weather shooters stayed home in bed. The nice thing about only four shooters is that everybody won something. Overall winner went to Ernie Edmonston with a 26. AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 20, AA-class went to yours truly with an 18, and A-class went to Sonny Odell. The bowling pin matches have been discontinued until after the first of the New Year, and the high power paper punchers have also finished for the year, so we scheduled this special cast bullet match. Overall Scope winner, after a tie breaking shootoff was Ernie Lewis with a great score of 37. Ernie tied withy Dave Farmer and Dave won AAA-class. AA-class went to Randy Dana with a 32, and B-class went to Ron Young with a 14. The other scope shooters were Carroll Hargrove, Bill Kennedy, and James Cravener. In the Iron Sight category, overall winner was Alan Bloomer with a 29. AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 17, AAclass went to Bill Kennedy with a 28, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a F ound! A Hard case on the Range. If you lost one, call Ernie Lewis at and describe the case and its contents. Steel Challenge by James Scordato, Match Director Saturday was a beautiful day our first match. Turnout was great with 34 shooters in attendance. Quite a few new faces for the match and some came from as far as Lubbock, TX. Steel challenge is a great sport for beginning as well as advanced shooters. Each stage of the Steel Challenge consists of five targets each hit once each, and each stage is run five times. If you have a handgun that holds at least five rounds come out and join in the fun, there is a division for you. The rules are simple to understand and even beginner shooters will not be discouraged. If you want to learn to shoot faster and more accurately come on out there are several shooters that will be more than happy to help you out. The wind blew so hard in Vaughn that I was beginning to wish I was back on the Range. There was a very good crowd of 20 shooters according to the score sheet and I hear that the weather was terrific. Alan won the match with the score of 31 using his Marlin model 1894 in.357 Magnum, and a Lyman bullet backed by 14 gr. of H-108. The.357 is a remarkable caliber in its ability to compete with the 30-30s and other lever action calibers. Alan took all 10 chickens, 8 pigs, 5 turkeys, and 8 rams with this combination. 1 st AAA Class went to James Cravener with 27, 2 nd AAA Class went to Bill Hamilton with 26, 1 st AA Class went to Don Upham with 26, 2 nd AA Class went to Ronnie Gould with 25, 1 st A Class went to Ted Clayton with 27, and 2 nd A Class went to Rick Jensen with 24. There was a tie between Mike Borem and Ron Young for Unclassified honors which Mike won. They both previously scored 17. This used to be one of the most popular matches the club held. Attendance fell off for a few years, but it appears that it is making a good comeback. Hopefully, things will continue in this direction as it is a really fun match to compete in. I would also like to thank all the outof-town shooters who continue to show up for the match. There was the person who sent ten puns to friend s, with the hope that at least one of the puns would make them laugh. NO pun in ten did. 8 O.F. Cast Bullet Match We had eight shooters show-up for our monthly O.F. Cast Bullet Match. In the Scope Class, Alan Bloomer took overall with a 34. AAA-class went to Ernie Lewis with a 29, and B-class went to Ron Young with a 7. In the Iron Sight category, Overall went to Mike Russo with a 25, AAA-class went to Scotty Davis with a 24, AA-class went to Jim Byrd, and A-class went to Sonny Odell with a 16. Nobody has stepped forward at the time of this writing to gather names, so if you are interested in running for one of these positions, simply contact ANY officer or board member and your name will get on the ballot. DENNIS SULLIVAN 22 MATCH, November 27, 2010 Other than starting out a little on the chilly side, it was a beautiful day for a silhouette match. We had 27 slots filled on the score sheet which made for another enjoyable match. Nine of these shooters were using iron sights while the remaining 18 were using scopes. To prove that the weather was good, there were 13 shooters who turned in scores of 30 or better. I can remember well when it was a really big deal to anyone to break 30 at all. On the Scope side, Erma Corn showed the boys how it s done by winning Overall with the score of 37. Erma missed 1 chicken, 1 pig, and 1 turkey. I forgot to ask, but I m pretty sure that she was using a Anschutz rifle and Federal ammo. Master Class went to Kenny Padilla with the score of st AAA and a promotion to Master Class went to Ernie Lewis with another 36, and 2 nd AAA Class went to John Thoesen with 33. Tim Price won AA Class with 30, while Marty Tressell won A Class with 18 and Tyson Price won B Class with 14. Steve Halvorson, after a lengthy absence, won Unclassified with 30. Steve just jumped right into AAA Class. I was fortunate enough to win the Iron Sight side with the score of 35. My old BSA 12/15 took 9 chickens, 8 pigs, 8 turkeys, and all 19 rams. It was spitting out CCI ammo. Charlie Corn decided to try his hand with iron sights again and won Master Class with the score of 31. Scotty Davis won AAA Class with 30, Sonny Odell won AA Class with 22, and Susan Odell won A Class with 17. We have a few bad months ahead, but hopefully we can dodge the really bad days and enjoy a few more matches like the one we had today. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season The morning was cold with medium gusty winds that got stronger as the match went on. There was a good group of shooters considering the weather. With 17 shooters, 9 iron sight shooters and 6 scope shooters. Ernie Edmonston took the Iron sight Overall win using a Turkish 8mm Mauser shooting a Saeco # grain bullet and 25 grains of Ernie shot 9 chickens, 9 pigs, 6 turkeys and 6 rams for a final score of 30. Alan Bloomer got AAA with 8 chickens, 9 pigs, 5 turkeys and 7 rams totaling 29. Second AAA went to Bill Hamilton with 10 chickens, 7 pigs, 5 turkeys, and 5 rams for a score of 27. AA class winner was John Thoesen with a 26 having taken 10 chickens, 9 pigs, 3 turkeys, and 4 rams. Allen Jones was the B class winner with a 16, taking 6 chickens, 4 pigs, 1 turkey and 5 rams. Allen has also earned his first score towards A class. We had six scope shooters. In the end Ernie Lewis won over all using his Remington 700 chambered in 308 shooting a 150- grain RCBS bullet and 22 grains of IMR This combination took 9 chickens, 9 pigs, 9 turkeys and 8 rams for a score of 35. Master class winner was Charlie Corn with a 33 having taken down 10 chickens, 9 pigs, 9 turkeys, and 5 rams. Dave Farmer won AAA with a 31 taking 8 chickens, 10 pigs, 4 turkeys, and 9 rams.
