Thank you to all the people that shot the match. Please come out and join us next time DENNIS SULLIVAN 22 MATCH Today was pretty good as far as temperature was concerned, but there are very dark shadows on the berms this time of year plus we had a little unwelcome breeze. All in all, it wasn t too bad and the 22 shooters who showed up seemed to enjoy their selves. We had 8 shooters suing iron sights and the remaining 14 were using scopes. There was a shoot off for Overall winner in the Iron Sight Match between Ron Young and O. L. Adcock, both having scored 26. Ron won the bragging rights and O. L. automatically collected AAA Class. Perhaps the scores will come up next month after the time changes and, hopefully, the wind dies down. In the past, October has generally been a pretty good month for shooting. Board Member O. L. Adcock has volunteered to do the membership keys/lists along with the orientation and we are about to make the transition over to him. Hopefully (for Scotty and I) this transition will be complete by the time we renew our memberships. Not only would I like to find somebody willing to do the newsletter, I am currently running 4 matches counting the ones we have on 5 th Saturdays. Needless to say, I would like to have somebody step up to take part of these off my hands. As a matter of fact, I wouldn t stand in the way if someone was willing to take my place as Treasurer, but that would have to come at election time. I might add that some computer skills is almost a must anymore in accomplishing these chores. I have appreciated the cooperation I have had in performing the tasks listed above and would have got out a long time ago if it was not for the cooperation from such a great group of people. Mr. Adcock s phone number is for future problems concerning keys, memberships, and new members. Ernie Edmonston 5 th SUNDAY 500 METER BENCH REST SILHOUETTE, Today was a nice calm warm day and 6 shooters were out for this morning s fun. The Overall Winner was John Hudson with the score of 22. Ron Young won AA Class with 19, Bob Elder won A Class with 17, and Charles Cravener, my brother, won Unclassified with 10. Others out today were Scotty Davis and I. As everyone may know, some of the Match Directors have been looking for someone to take over some of the matches they run. Anyone interested can just check with about any of the silhouette shooters. We will help anyone until you get your feet on the ground. A NOTE FROM THE TREASURER Fellow members, when I was first elected to this position some 15 years ago, not only did I take on the financial business of the club, but I tackled the preparation of our membership lists, the issuance of renewal keys every year, and have, for the most part, prepared the newsletter. About the same time, Scotty Davis started giving orientations to new members. There is probably more work involved in these projects than anyone else in the club realizes. I didn t really mind doing it for several years although it was very time consuming, but Scotty and I are both getting up in years and think that it s about time that somebody else started taking over some of these chores. 6
