The two teams met for the first time last season - splitting a pair of games - as the Terriers played their debut season in the Patriot League. Each team won on its home court against the other last season. The Terriers rolled to an victory in the inaugural game of the series, but the Bison evened the score with a win at Sojka Paviilion late in the season. Audrey Dotson averaged 12.5 points and six rebounds against Boston. Claire DeBoer posted a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Bison win. W, Overall Record: 1-1 About the Terriers Boston University dropped to 4-14 overall and 1-6 in the Patriot League with its second straight loss, a defeat on Wednesday. The Terriers lone conference win was a home victory over Colgate. Meghan Green and Troi Melton both reached double-figures in the loss to American, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively. Green leads the team in both scoring (13.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.6 rpg). Boston s best win came in the second game of the season with a victory over Harvard at home. Green scored a career-high 19 points. The win over the Crimson marked the first career victory for first-year head coach Katy Steding. Last Time Out The Bison improved to 12-6 overall and 4-3 in the Patriot League with a win over Loyola at Sojka Pavilion on Wednesday. The Bison used their third starting lineup of the season, moving freshman Jacquie Klotz into a starting role for the first time in her career. Junior Claire Maree O Bryan, who came off the bench for the first time this season, tied for the team lead with 13 points. Audrey Dotson also scored 13 points. Claire DeBoer led the Bison with 10 rebounds. It was her eighth double-digit rebounding game of the season and the third in the past four games. She ranks third in the Patriot League at 8.9 rebounds per game. Senior Micki Impellizeri tallied two more blocks in the win, giving her a team-leading 28 on the season. Sophomore Megan McGurk scored 10 points, matching her season-high achieved two other times during the year. Freshman Catherine Romaine had a breakout game, hitting all four of her field goal attempts for a career-high eight points. Bucknell History in the Patriot League Bucknell is against current members of the Patriot League. The Bison are in Patriot League play. They joined the conference for the season. Bucknell has winning records over four teams in the conference - Army, Colgate, Loyola (Md.) and Navy. Polls/Rankings The Bison are listed as a team receiving votes in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll. They have been ranked as high as 25th this season. In the latest RPI rankings (1/23), Bucknell comes in at 123rd out of 349 teams. Boston is ranked 307th in the RPI. Best on the Boards Bucknell ranks first in the conference and 16th nationally in rebounding margin (+9.8). The Bison also rank first in the conference in rebounds per game (43.9) and have won the rebounding battle in 16 of their 18 games this season. Young But Experienced The Bison are a young team - just one senior in the projected starting lineup - but still bring back plenty of players with experience from last season. Audrey Dotson, Megan McGurk, Claire DeBoer, Tyler Craig and Sheaira Jones have combined for 224 career starts, while Claire Maree O Bryan played in all 30 games during her debut season and has started 17 of 18 games this year. In all, eight players have started at least five games for the Bison during their career. Stacking the Schedule The Bison s schedule is highlighted by seven teams that played in postseason tournaments beyond their respective conference tournaments last season. The schedule featured a challenging road trip to open the season, as the Bison played Bowling Green on Nov. 14, and went to Ann Arbor to play Michigan on Nov. 16. The Falcons, who advanced to the WNIT quarterfinals a year ago, finished 30-5 and won the MAC regular season title with a 17-1 record. The Wolverines were also in the WNIT after a 20-win season and a.500 mark in the Big Ten. Other non-conference opponents for the Bison this season that appeared in last year s WNIT include Delaware and Mount St. Mary s. On the conference schedule, the Bison will play home/ away series against defending Patriot League champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Army, and against WNIT qualifiers American and Navy. Two Steps Forward Aaron Roussell was hired as Bucknell s ninth head coach in April He led the Bison to the largest turnaround in program history during his debut campaign, and continued that improvement during his second season, guiding the team to 16 wins and home-court advantage for the Patriot League quarterfinals. Preseason Accolades Senior Audrey Dotson was voted to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team for the first time in her career. She returns for her final season after leading the team in both scoring (16.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg). Joining her on the preseason team were Preseason Player of the Year junior guard Kelsey Minato (Army), senior guard Jen Dumiak (American), junior forward Raquel Scott (Holy Cross) and senior forward Emily Homan (Lafayette). National Exposure During the conference portion of Bucknell s schedule is a unique TV doubleheader against Army on Feb. 15. CBS Sports Network will broadcast the women s game at Bucknell at 2 p.m., followed by the men s game at Army at 4 p.m. The Patriot League Championship game, scheduled for March 14 at 6 p.m., will also air on CBS Sports Network.

6 Bucknell Women s Basketball Game Notes - 6 Protecting the Basket Audrey Dotson had two blocks in a loss to Holy Cross and is tied for third on the program s career blocks list with 110. She owns the program s sixth- and seventh-best single-season marks with 44 blocks as a junior and 42 as a sophomore. Senior Micki Impellizeri gives the Bison depth with her defense in the paint.
