3 Media Information & Bronco Notebook QUIK GAME NOTE: ETTING THE ENE NMU onference Affiliation: The Aggies are members of the Western Athletic onference (WA) which was once called home by the Broncos ( ). Last Year for Boise tate: Boise tate went overall and 4-12 in the Mountain West onference last year placing seventh. Recently for Boise tate: The Broncos have played two games todate splitting a pair of home contests dropping a shootout to outhern Utah (Nov. 8), followed by a win over Lewis-lark tate on Monday (Nov. 11). Boise tate s Record: The Broncos are q-1 on the year. Last Year for NMU: NMU went overall last year and 7-11 in WA play. Recently for NMU: The Aggies have played only one game so far, a loss at UTEP on Tuesday. NMU s Record: The Aggies enter the game at 0-1. Boise tate at Home: The Broncos are 1-1 in Taco Bell Arena this year. Boise tate went 7-8 at home last season. The Broncos are (.649 pct.) all-time in Taco Bell Arena. Boise tate on the Road: The Broncos will be playing their first road game of the year Thursday night. NMU at Home: This is New Mexico tate s first regular season home game of the year. They defeated Western New Mexico in an exhibition game on Nov. 4. NMU went 9-7 at home in Leading the Broncos: After two contests Boise tate is being led by redshirt-sophomore forward Lexie Der at 17.5 points per game and a team second-best 9.5 rebounds per game, followed by sophomore center Miquelle Askew at 14.5 ppg and a team-high 10.0 rebounds per game. Redshirt-junior Brandi Henton is third in scoring at 14.0 ppg. NMU as a Team: The Aggies are averaging 69 points and 32 rebounds per game after one contest, while allowing 94 points and 39 rebounds per game. Approaching from Broadway Avenue: If you are approaching campus from Broadway Avenue turn onto University Drive by Bronco tadium. Once on University Drive take the second right turn onto Bronco ircle and follow it to the west stadium parking lot and arena. Approaching from apitol Boulevard: If approaching campus from the west side via apitol Boulevard, turn onto University Drive by the business building. Follow University Drive all the way to the tadium on the opposite end of campus where you will turn left onto Bronco ircle. Take Bronco ircle to the west stadium parking lot and arena. PARKING Parking for Boise tate women s basketball games is located in the west stadium parking lot between Taco Bell Arena and Bronco tadium on a first come first served basis. Overall flow parking is the east stadium parking lot along Broadway Avenue. VIITING RADIO BROADAT The visiting radio broadcast crew will be issued space next to the visitor s bench at the scorers table. He brought with him a mild and laid back demeanor, 18 years of head coaching experience and a long record of success. Upon his arrival on campus, Presnell made an immediate impact on the Broncos. Presnell inherited a program that had not experienced a winning season in the previous seven years. He immediately earned the trust and respect of everyone involved with the program. He slowly rebuilt the team s identity instilling a sense of confidence and purpose. In the first eight years under his direction, the Broncos have gone (.546) overall recording four winning seasons and one at.500. After going in his first year ( ) the Broncos recorded four consecutive-winning seasons, including a schoolrecord 24 wins in both the (24-9) and (24-8) campaigns. Presnell s teams have gone (.484) in conference games and an impressive (.68.3) at home in Boise, including a perfect 14-0 in ombined with his upbeat coaching personality and knowledge of the game, Presnell has led the Bronco program through a renaissance, becoming winners on and off the court. His teams are routinely ranked among the top scoring and rebounding teams in the conference and have set numerous school records along the way. In eight years, his teams set the school s season rebounding record three times and the scoring record twice. Program honors during his tenure at Boise tate include: winning back-to-back Western Athletic onference regular-season crowns in 2007 and 2008; the 2007 WA Tournament title; one NAA Tournament appearance in 2007 and one WNIT second-round appearance in 2008; seven postseason all-conference honors, six conference all-freshmen team members, one conference newcomer of the year, two conference all-defensive team honors, three conference alltournament team honors with one tournament MVP; and a combined 39 academic all-conference honors by 15 individuals. In 2007, Presnell led the team to new heights with a 24-9 overall record, they won the league regularseason crown and WA Tournament title advancing to the program s first postseason national tournament since the 1998 WNIT. For his coaching performance he was named the WA and WBA Division I Regional oach of the Year. PRIOR TO BOIE TATE Prior to taking over at Boise tate, Presnell coached for 18 successful years at eattle Pacific University in Washington. At PU, he inherited a program that had not recorded a winning season in the previous nine years. He built the Falcons into a NAA Division II national power, accumulating an overall record of 396 victories with 127 defeats (.757). Along the way his teams amassed an average of 22 wins per season while claiming seven conference championships, including four of his last five seasons. In addition, his teams were an impressive (.884) at home in Broughman Pavilion, including five unbeaten home seasons. On the national scene under Presnell, the Falcons advanced to nine-straight ( ) and 10 of 11 NAA Division II tournaments while he was in eattle. Overall, eattle Pacific made postseason appearances in 13 of his 18 years, 10 NAA and three NAIA. Presnell s teams reached three NAA Division II Elite Eights and advanced to the 2005 national title game. At the time of his departure from eattle Pacific in the summer of 2005, Presnell was ranked tied for 10thplace nationally among NAA Divison II coaches for win percentage (.757) and 21st for total victories. OAHING HIGHLIGHT In 26 years as a collegiate head coach Presnell has experienced 22 winning seasons and one at.500. His teams have won a combined nine regular-season titles, seven at PU and two at Boise tate. In addition, he has guided 15 of his 26 squads into postseason national tournaments. During his career he has been named conference coach of the year eight times, WBA Regional oach of the Year five times (four at NAA Division II level and one at Division I), and the WBA NAA Division II National oach of the Year twice. His coach of the year honors now total 15 in 26 years. His student-athletes have accumulated numerous honors along the way: one All-American; six individuals have earned nine honorable mention All-American awards; five league players of the year; eight freshman/newcomers of the year; 29 players have combined for 47 all-conference honors; six conference all-freshmen team members; two all-defensive team members; 30 individuals have combined for 78 academic all-conference honors; 10 combined for 12 national academic honors including two academic All- Americans. PERONAL Presnell, a Lapwai, Idaho, native graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, in 1983 with a B.A. in physical education. He continued his studies in physical education at eattle Pacific University, where he earned a master s degree in He and his wife, former PU gymnast usan Nolte, live in Meridian, Idaho.
