OU, who is seeded No. 12 in the Spokane Regional, is 16-3 all-time in opening round games in the NCAA Tournament. u The Sooners have made 19 straight NCAA Tournaments under head coach Sherri Coale, the fifth-best active streak in Division I women's basketball. The run is the ninth-longest streak all-time for consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. OU's 21 all-time NCAA Tournament berths are the second most by a Big 12 team and rank 21st overall in NCAA history. u OU is just one of nine teams in Division I men's or women's basketball to hold an active streak of 19 or more consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee (37), Stanford (31), Connecticut (30), Notre Dame (23) are the only four women's basketball teams that have made more consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament than OU, while Kansas (29), Duke (23), Michigan State (21) and Gonzaga (20) have all made at least 19 straight trips to the Big Dance on the men's side. u When the Sooners and Blue Demons collide, expect plenty of points to be scored. OU and DePaul have both scored 100 points each in the last two meetings. Earlier this year, DePaul topped the Sooners, , in overtime as Amarah Coleman's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave the Blue Demons the win. The two teams met in the 2014 NCAA Tournament with OU falling to DePaul, The 204 combined points set the NCAA record for points scored in regulation by two teams. u The Sooners' starting five continues to be efficient as all five players are averaging at least 12.2 points per game heading into the NCAA Tournament. OU is the first Big 12 team in conference history to have at least five players average 12.0 per game. The Sooners are also the only Power 5 team with all five starters averaging at least 12.0 points per game. PROBABLE OKLAHOMA STARTERS (BASED ON PREVIOUS GAME) VIONISE SHAINA PELLINGTON G 5-7 Fr. DYNAMIC DUO + THE GLUE The duo of Ana Llanusa and Shaina Pellington leads the Big 12 in scoring among all freshmen. Pellington ranks first with 13.1 points per game, while Llanusa is averaging 12.6 points a contest. Llanusa and Pellington are the only freshman duo in a Power 5 Conference to be the top two scoring freshmen in their respective league. Pellington, the fourth Canadian to play for the Sooners, has been named Big 12 Freshman of the Week four times this year and became the seventh OU player to win Big 12 Freshman of the Year. She has scored 20-plus points in seven different games (leads all Big 12 freshmen) and ranks second nationally among all freshmen with a.491 field goal percentage. Llanusa is averaging 12.6 points per game this season. The Choctaw, Okla., native has been one of the league's most consistent newcomers, scoring 10-plus points 21 times in 29 games to earn All-Big 12 honorable mention honors as well as a spot on the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. OU's third freshman Mandy Simpson is known as the glue on the team and won Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors on Nov. 13. The Boise, Idaho, native is a constant voice on the bench for Oklahoma and has played in 25 games. #GABBIORTHREES The transition from moving to off the ball from point guard seems to be paying off for senior Gabbi Ortiz. Ortiz is averaging a career-best 12.2 points a game, while shooting.379 from beyond the arc (ranks 10th in the Big 12) and is second in the conference with pointers per game. The Racine, Wis., native ranks third all-time at OU with 211 career 3-pointers and has made 80 treys this season (seventh-most 3-pointers in OU single-season history). GUESS WHO'S BACK, BACK AGAIN... Maddie Manning is back for the Sooners after receiving a sixth-year of eligibility prior to the start of the season. Manning was granted another year of eligibility after missing the first two seasons of her collegiate career due to ACL surgery. The graduate student guard has scored in double figures 23 times in 30 games this season. Manning has scored in double figures in eight straight games and has made multiple 3-pointers in nine consecutive contests, which ranks as the third-longest streak in school history. OU has played 11 games against AP top 25 opponents this season (most of any team in the Big 12), including six contests versus AP top 10 foes (second most behind Kentucky for the most among Power 5 conference teams). Of OU's 11 non-conference opponents, seven teams finished in first or second place in their respective conference standings: Belmont (1st/OVC), DePaul (1st/Big East), Little Rock (1st/Sun Belt), Oregon (1st/Pac 12), South Dakota State (2nd/Summit), UConn (1st/AAC) and South Florida (2nd/AAC).
