August 1, 2011 Vol. 1, No. 14 Gamespeak Table of Contents: The FHL has devised a player grid which we call the FDA (FHL Decision Aid). This will hopefully help the FHL Ownership to see where they are relative to other teams and help focus their personal team assessments. See Page 2. Also Assistant Commissioner/FHL Historian Chad Pridemore has gone through all the games in the FHL last season and come up with the Top 10 Greatest Games. See Page 3. FHL 2011 season is available for your planning. The scheduled is also available via spreadsheet upon request. FHL League File will have the schedule also in a future release. See Page 5. This last issue of the season will continue a new tradition started during the Post Season Editions of Gamespeak with the Coaches Corner. Manager/owner/coach Lucky Luc Savard does his 2 nd Mock Rookie Draft Revisited (for new ratings) and we have a new guest writer in Manager/owner/coach Joshua Pohl of the Kansas City Ice Twisters. He will share with us his insightful analysis on all the trades that have taken place since last Gamespeak. See Page 23 and 28. The FHL Draft Order (revised) with new team names and recent trades reflected. See Page 30. How to install the new APC! Hockey Game. See Page 31. The Official FHL Regular Season Ballot with the top 3 vote getters in each player category. See Page 32. Current Owner List and Addresses: See Page 33. Commissioner comments on the new game release, Calendar of Events, etc. See Page 34.

FHL Decision Aide (FDA) has been made up to help people see where their players stand based on NHL Stats. The players are sorted based on goals scored in descending order. It is Gamespeak s sincere hope this helps you in your evaluation, drafting, and trading for players to improve your team. The table is fairly self explanatory. Be careful not to over read into this FDA Table. There are so many other things that make up a good hockey team and goal scoring is just one (albeit important) facet. Ability to pass, skate, faceoffs, hit, block shots, play defense, etc., etc. also figure into this. Also your coaching style of play can greatly affect how players do in relationship to each other. We have seen, all too often, a less talented team defeat a more talented team. Please note this table has not been updated for all the trades that have taken place recently. So please do that yourselves as you go through this list.

From the Assistant Commissioner s Office: FHL Top 10 Games 1. Game 7 of finals The New York Dolphins become the first team to hoist The Crystal in a thrilling seven game Finals series against the Quebec Nordiques. The Dolphins won the game 4-1 after both teams bounced back and forth to force a game seven in the series. 2. KC v Montreal game 6 This game proved to be a pivotal game five for both teams. Kansas City went into this game on a three game winning streak after going down 2-0 in the series. The Ice Twisters were proving to Montreal they were a force to be contended with against Niemi and Les Habs. This game was exciting for the FHL playoffs because it put the then #1 team in the FHL down two games which allowed Kansas City to carry the momentum and complete a series victory. The Ice Twisters won game six by a score of Quebec v McGregor game 5 FHL Webpage Temporarily Down Please note the FHL main webpage is temporarily down. We are working on a major upgrade of the Webpage to start the Living FHL Experience where each team can control their own Team Blog. During the interim please keep contact through Yahoo User s Group, Facebook, or direct . A new membership list will be forthcoming on Facebook and later in the next issue of Gamespeak (and Gamespeak Online). Thanks for your patience. The Quebec Nordiques advanced in the playoffs after defeating the McGregor Condors 5-0 in game five of their series. The Condors played a hard series and did not play up to par like many fans of the FHL had anticipated. The victory by Quebec allowed them to advance to the Conference Finals against the Long Beach Ice Dogs. 4. McGregor v Columbus 4-3 OT This game between the Condors and the Jaguars proved to be very exciting as it had a lot riding on it for both teams. The Jaguars were trailing the Condors in the West Central Division for quite some time and were hoping to catch up with them and earn a playoff spot. The game went to OT with McGregor capturing the victory by a score of 4-3 with Iginla scoring the game winning goal at 4:59. The Condors sealed their playoff spot with this stunning victory on home ice at the Bird Cage. 5. Montreal v Scranton 04/10 Shootout Record A new FHL shootout record was set on 04/10 between the Montreal Canadiens and the Scranton Blackjacks. The shootout lasted 10 rounds and saw 20 shooters. Montreal won the shootout by a score of 2-1. Thomas Greiss was the goaltender for Montreal and Martin Brodeur was in goal for Scranton. The previous and first notable record was set between the McGregor Condors and the Terre Haute Golden Retrievers on 03/17 going seven rounds with 12 shooters.

6. Detroit v San Angelo 02/17 PIM Record The Detroit Bandits and San Angelo Outlaws set a new record in PIM by banking 82 PIM. It was a very physical game with two fights and multiple roughing penalties called during the game. 7. Gatineau v Terre Haute 12/29 The game between Gatineau and Terre Haute on 12/29 set the record for most goals allowed by a goaltender at eight. Steve Mason of the Bulldogs allowed a whopping eight goals against him in an embarrassing 8-2 loss. 8. Cleveland v Detroit 01/25 Chris Pronger of the Cleveland Barons set the FHL record for the quickest goal at just nine seconds of the opening faceoff. 9. Detroit v Montreal 01/01 The Detroit Bandits hosted the Montreal Canadiens in the first outdoor Winter Classic game for the FHL. The game was played at University of Michigan Stadium played in front of a sellout crowd of 109,901. "The FHL has noticed and would like to continue this incredible trend of outdoor hockey and perhaps have a Winter Classic All Star Game?! Kudo's to the entire Detroit Bandit Organization and owner/manager Chad Pridemore! Innovation like the will not go by unnoticed! 10. McGregor v Terre Haute 04/07 Tuuka Rask set the FHL record for most saves in a single game by a goaltender at 49 saves. Tukka played in net for Terre Haute stopping 49 of 50 shots against him and giving his team a 2-1 victory against a very high powered offensive team of McGregor. FHL GAME OF THE YEAR Game 7 of FHL Finals for the coveted Crystal! Cliff Dolgins Coaching Commentary Narrative of the game! NY and Quebec squared off in game 7. Both teams came out feeling each other out and NY got the first break on a Rick Nash hooking penalty at 7:13 of the first period. Quebec killed it off and the game remained scoreless until a Erik Staal hold at 13:30. NY wasted no time winning the draw and Scottie Upshall scored from Whitney and Ryan at 13:30 for the first goal of the game. Quebec caught a bad break at 19:36 of the period when Rick Nash received a 4 minute penalty for drawing blood on Andrei Markov and NY started with the power play in period 2. NY had a shot advantage in period one. Steven Stamkos (Mr. Invisible in the playoffs) re-directed a Markov shot at 2:08 of period two for NY s second Power play goal and a 2-0 lead. Quebec responded by coming out flying off the goal and Erik Staal scored on an up ice rush assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner and Thomas Vanek to make it 2-1 with 14:42 left in the second. The game remained 2-1 until 1:29 left in the second when unfortunately the game froze and because of the resume game function not working Johnny was no longer able to coach his team. The period ended at 2-1 with NY out shooting Quebec 18-6 in the second period and overall. The refs had put their whistles away for over a period but called a tighter game in the third. Bryan Little was nabbed at :48 seconds for holding giving Quebec their first power play of the game. Quebec managed two shots and NY blocked three to kill off the penalty. Jason Spezza was then penalized at 3:31 for holding giving Quebec another power play. Steven Stamkos then was called for interference 19 seconds later and Quebec had a two man advantage. NY penalty killers were all over the ice holding Quebec to only one shot on goal killing off the 5 on 3. Erik Staal then hit the post with 13:28 left keeping it a 2-1 game. Steven Stamkos then knocked Tim Gleason off the puck leading to a 2 on 1 rush and Jason Spezza capitalized to make it 3-1 NY with 12:45 to play. NY added some insurance with a Bobby Ryan deflection on an Erik Johnson shot with 4:36 to play giving NY a 4-1 win. NY out shoots Quebec but the key stat probably is winning 50 of 75 face offs when all series it seemed to go Quebec s way on the draws. Martin Hanzel won an amazing 18 of 21 faceoffs and those were mainly vs. Quebec s top line and when short handed. The three stars awarded by the game were: #1 Bobby Ryan 1 goal and 2 assists, #2 Stamkos 1 goal and an assist, #3 Halak 25 saves. But I would give #1 to Halak who stopped 3 odd man rushes, #2 Hanzal for all his defensive play and #3 Stamkos for the goal and assist -9 shots, 2 hits and the key goal to make it 2-0.

COACHES CORNER: Joshua Pohl (owner/manager/coach Kansas City Ice Twisters) weights in on all the recent trades post Crystal Finals : Every Good Coach Knows Every good coach knows that sometimes you have to switch it up or change it up to get something going on the ice. Maybe it's chemistry as in many combinations just like you might see on your job. Sometimes guys just don't mix, and can't find that switch that works from right to center to left. Maybe it's speed. Sometimes those awesome shots aren't followed by the right mix of speeds making up one unified line. When that happens, it is a really exciting scene that can play out. Maybe its age. Sometimes skaters have been hit one too many times and are on the downward spiral of a long career, but you draft them knowing that they are going to bounce back for sure. Whatever the case may be for your team, you know you need to most importantly go out and fill a need. The "Crystal" Champion New York Dolphins made a change, and rode Halak all the way to victory. A good coach knows when it is time. New coaches can do the same, and FHL's newest team Exton Igloos has decided that the chemistry isn't there anymore. They have made three important trades in this offseason that will change the face of their franchise for years to come. As an outside spectator at the moment, I would like to offer some insight into each player and offer nothing more than opinion of the movement that has transpired so far. Trade 1: Exton acquires LW Andrew Ladd (25yrs old) & Petr Regin (25yrs old)from Winnipeg in exchange for G Thomas Vokoun (35 yrs old). I like this trade in satifying a need for both teams. Let's face it, the crux of this trade and value lies in Ladd and Vokoun. While Regin still has plenty of potential at the age of 25, the numbers in the NHL haven't translated much as they did in the AHL. In Ladd, Exton is getting already a return on this trade before the puck even drops. The real NHL Winnipeg franchise just named Andrew their captain for , and that can continue for Exton for the next couple of seasons should Ladd answer the bell to be the on ice leader. In Vokoun, Winnipeg gets a proven goaltender for several years who knows his way between the pipes. Thomas didn't seem to have too much support from the NHL Florida Defense to back him up, and as a result, he finished 2nd in total losses for at 28. The important stat to note is that he still manages to finish in the Top 10 in save % every year. He should be a solid goaltender up north for at least 2 more years. Another interesting note that affects this trade is the big NHL trade that has sent Vokoun to Washington in this offseason...could Vokoun turn in an even better season with the big Capital Defense in front of him. This will be very interesting to watch.

How will these moves affect the current roster that each team might keep this upcoming FHL season? Winnipeg immediately gets a decent goaltender for the next season, and it has the potential to last then next two years thanks to the real NHL trade to Washington this offseason. Winnipeg leaves Mason, Garon, and Toskala on the chopping block, and none of them look like a good choice for the future. This is a move that solves a big need for Winnipeg in my honest opinion. Exton gets a strong LW in Ladd to add to the strong play of Kunitz, Grabvoski, and Malkin after this year. The initial move didn't open up my eyes as a fantastic one for the new Igloo organization, but after we analyze the other 2 trades, they have changed it all in what looks like a good solid offensive base in the future. Trade 2:(Blockbuster Move) Exton sends LW Zetterberg (30yrs old) and RW Voracek (21yrs old) to Quebec for RW Devin Setoguchi (24yrs old), D Kris Letang (24yrs old), G Corey Schneider (25yrs old), D Tim Gleason (28yrs old), and Quebec's 3rd Rd Pick in this upcoming draft. This move made me scratch my head and figured that new owner Jeff must share a mutual hate with me of the NHL Detroit Red Wings (sorry Assistant Commissioner) to let a superstar go in Henrik Zetterberg. Exton gets plenty of power on both sides of the line with both offense and defense in the deal, but take a closer look at Zetterberg and the year he just had. He played 80 games and was 5th in assists, 8th in points, and 18th in power play goals. That is quite the resume to give up. They also let RW Jakub Voracek again before he was traded from Columbus to Philadelphia in the offseason. He didn't have the best season, but he is still young and can produce for a stacked Flyer offense. Exton receives a fastastic RW in Devin Setoguci who has been producing for the past couple of seasons. They get 2 serviceable D men in Kris Letang and Tim Gleason. Both could be plugged in immediately and Letang is in the top 100 pts. He knows how to jump in the play. Exton receives a 3rd round pick, and should be able to get a pretty decent veteran dropped from another team to solve some depth. The move I love is acquiring G Corey Schneider. He is talked in some NHL circles as the next big thing, and will most likely be on his way out of Vancouver in the next year. This gives Jeff a young goalie to build a franchise around. Analyzing this move on it's own, Quebec just made their already strong team even more of a contender. Advantage goes to the Nordiques; however, when you look at the third trade, Exton is clearly rebuilding the franchise younger and for the future, and earn some major points in my book for pulling this one off.

Trade 3: (Let s Build The Middle), Gatineau City gives C Logan Couture (22 yrs old), C Mikael Backlund (22 yrs old), and C Brayden Schenn (19 yrs old), Exton gives D Marc Staal (24 yrs old), James Neal (23 yrs old), and LW Patrick Elias (35 yrs old). Exton really made a bold move that has totally changed their new franchise and started to shape it up a bit. Albeit, these aren t sure things by any means when they are this young, but acquiring the likes of Couture, Backlund, and Schenn has put the Igloos on the map in the next couple of years if they play strong. This move gives Exton a potential 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd line Centerman if they pan out. Couture almost certainly has the chance to be the top line Center for the Igloos right away. Just look at the finish from the real NHL season in He finished 14 th in goals, 35 th in +/-, and 7 th in GWG. Backlund and Schenn are unproven in the NHL, but are ranked as high as can be for future stardom. Schenn s trade to Philly will put him in the position to contribute really fast. His double year in the WHL of 88 & 99 pts should have the Igloos and their fans very excited. Gatineau City has taken the other route and bolstered their already tough team with one of the strongest D men in the game right now in Marc Staal. Staal brings an impressive resume in the last year with his 1 st NHL All Star appearance, and led all NHL Defensemen in short handed points. James Neal is still young, but has seen some road in his young career already with a trade to Pittsburgh last year at the deadline. Once Crosby and Malkin come back, I am still wondering where and if Neal might fit in. His 45pts in the NHL last season will give him a pretty good ranking for next season. Patrick Elias is a slam dunk to put with other speed demons Van Riemsdyk, Kane, and Giroux. Elias finished again in the top 50 in the NHL in the important stats of assists and points ranking 32 and 39 th respectively. I believe the Exton Igloos have done a brilliant job in making moves, but I am not so sure that they will pay off those dividends right away. I think the 4 that will really stand out in the future and decide how this triple trade plays out are LW Andrew Ladd, C Brayden Schenn, C Logan Couture, and G Cory Schneider. If these players produce in the next couple of years for Exton, they are set in my opinion. They should contend in 2yrs, but if those players don t work in his system it will be a long road to go through another rebuild. The other key to this will be the absence of Zetterberg from the top line of Exton. I don t know if that was the player to get rid of, and adding him to the Nordiques will make Quebec and Johnny s boisterous style of coaching, scary good this season. Every good coach must make moves to compete, and Exton has done so in an effort to compete hard. Question this critic has right now is whether Exton is finished?

Even sometimes now you might have a stockpile of something or a position that just won t allow you to keep them all. Why would you keep a stockpile unless you are setting up to make a trade somehow. Coach Ashlee Pridemore has 1 too many goalies. Both of her goaltenders happen to be the stars of these years Stanley Cup run. Tim Thomas & Roberto Luongo are part of the Jaguar organization, and both are not needed. A good coach knows the value of having a stockpile. You need to trade that value in for more value depending upon what you plan on doing. Trade # 4: Columbus Jaguars send star Goalie Roberto Luongo (32 yrs old), LW Ville Leino (27 yrs old), and their 1 st rd pick to Johnston Chiefs in exchange for C Joe Thornton (32 yrs old), RW Teemu Selanne (41 yrs old), C Tim Connolly (30 yrs old). Overall this is a pretty even trade with 2 teams moving in different directions. Ashley immediately helps her team, and is certainly giving the sign that she wants to compete NOW! Joe Thornton still has plenty of time left in the NHL, and finished 24 th overall this past season in the NHL. He is not only a brilliant center for the Jaguars to have, but has plenty of leadership qualities a top 2 line center should have. She also picks up very aged veteran in RW Teemu Selanne (41 yrs old), and the 8 th overall ranked player this past season. She was even able to pick up some depth with C Tim Connolly. He will bring 42pts to the table, and should help out as well. Those numbers are going to net Ashley all the firepower she needs to go along with Huselius, Datsyuk, and and Hossa. She now has 5 snipers to line up against the opposing team. Newcomer coach, Eric Baluh appears to be going in the opposite direction. They retain arguably(in some circles) the best player in the game in Alex Ovechkin, but they take away anybody to work with him in Selanne and Thorton. Ville Leino is a great pick up to build around and should produce a little this year, and really hit his peak next year. This kid is a fast, finesse player that the NHL s Buffalo Sabres wasted no time in signing in the offseason. This looks like a move for the future. We know that with another 1 st round pick, Eric will really begin to put his team together for the future. I think contending for The Crystal will be difficult for Eric to do this year, but he will have the best goaltender in the pipes with Roberto Luongo. If you are looking at the future, Johnston Chiefs could contend within the next few years, but how dominant will Ovechkin and other be at that point. I do believe that Eric will help build his team with these moves, but I believe Ashley ended up with a kings ransom on this one depending which way Eric goes with that extra 1 st rd pick. Watch out FHL, Columbus could be yet another team looking to make some waves this upcoming season advantage to Ashlee Pridemore in this trade.

Trade # 5: California acquires 13 th pick in 1 st Rd, and 14 th pick in 2 nd round of this year s draft from Gatineau, and Gatineau adds C Mike Richards (26 yrs old) What a player Gatineau gets in C Mike Richards. He adds to their arsenal, but it still young enough to give many years of hockey to their squad. In Richards, they get a top 50 player in points and 27 th overall in assists. This spells a pretty good FHL ranking to work with for next season. Richards was in need of a change of scenery in the real NHL, and Philadelphia blew it up when they sent Carter and Richards packing this offseason. It gives you an idea of how important the LA Kings thought about him when they traded highly touted prospect Brayden Schenn for him. He will certainly fit in with youngsters Stafford and Van Riemsdyk and add leadership and skill at the forward position both even strength and in the power play. This is a very good move for Luc s team, but was it worth a 1 st and a 2 nd. California is headed for a youth movement when you look at the broad scheme of things. They have now acquired 6 picks in the first 39 of this year s draft. Is newcomer coach Kent attempting to make a new team with all those draft picks? It sure would seem so from this critic. You have to like those odds for some very young talent coming to California, but you also have to admire Gatineau s moves as well. They were a team flirting with contention down the stretch last year, and might just be a Mike Richards away from The Crystal. I don t know if I would have given up that important part of the draft. A good coach still needs to think about what type of young talent you can get to develop along with savvy veteran contributions. If you look at last year s final four, all those team had both youngsters and experienced veterans that brought them there. I think that this year s draft offers some unbelievable talent, but can those youth movement teams realistically compete with the other teams at the top of FHL. It will be tough to see those rewards for at least a couple of years without those veterans for leadership. Game release has happened and I am off to buy the new game. Good luck and good drafting to all. Good luck and good drafting to all.

COACHES CORNER: Lucky Luc Savard (owner/manager/coach Gatineau City Bulldogs) submits his updated Rookie Mock Draft after the release of the new DKS Action PC! Hockey Ratings: A lot of trades have happened since the first edition of the rookie draft. Some teams that needed a goaltender went the trade route. Some other teams traded their picks to acquire immediate talent. All these changes required a shorter revised edition. Good luck to all! FHL Draft Order Rookie Draft: 1. Boston (former Fort Wayne) Boston will select either Skinner or Hall. I will stick with my initial prediction. Boston Whalers will select: Jeff Skinner 2. Johnston (former Terre Haute) This team just made a huge trade giving up major offence for a number one goalie. Therefore, they have no need to draft a goaltender in the first round anymore and will go for a top young forward. Johnston Chiefs will select: Taylor Hall 3. California (former Topeka) Originally, this team was to draft Hall, now that Hall is gone, they will go for the forward with the most upside. California Zephyrs will select: Tyler Seguin 4. Gatineau City Status quo in Gatineau at this time. Eberle is a natural scorer and this team needs him. Gatineau City Bulldogs will select: Jordan Eberle 5. Winnipeg (former NEPA) They needed a goaltender; they got Vokoun so this pick may change. John may take a forward or a young goaltender to secure the future of the franchise. Winnipeg Saints will select: Corey Crawford 6. Cincinnati Status quo in Cincinnati Cincinnati Swords will select: Derek Stepan 7. Johnston (trade with Columbus) Ashlee traded her pick and has received a huge return for Luongo, Leino and the pick. Eric will go young again. Johnston Chiefs will select: Cam Fowler 8. Indianapolis (former Columbia) Young is still the word for this team but will need to take a different player as Seguin is gone. Indianapolis Checkers will select: Kevin Shattenkirk

9. Detroit Chad needs offense as we have read previously. There is a good one available for immediate help. He is small but talented! Detroit Bandits will select: Nathan Gerbe 10. Cleveland Scott will secure the team need for a good young goaltender. Cleveland Barons will select: James Reimer 11. McGregor Jesse will need to change his plan, Shattenkirk is gone. Power forward are hard to find and Bickel would fit well on this team. McGregor Condors will select: Bryan Bickell 12. Exton (former San Angelo) Jeff moved Vokoun and they now have no goalie. Youth movement going on and they will probably trade for a goaltender given what is left or draft Dubnyk but I doubt. Exton Igloos will select: Magnus Paarjavis 13. California (from Gatineau - LA former Scranton) This pick was traded from Gatineau to California. The only thing that changes here is the team picking, the player selected is the same. There is a youth movement going down in California. California Zephyrs will select: Nino Neiderreiter 14. Montreal Montreal will pick in their home city as the fans in Montreal likes. This kid is very well rated. Actually, lots of NHL Montreal players are rated higher than expected in the game (see also Mathieu Darche). One has to wonder if the guy rating the players is from Montreal! Montreal will select: David Desharnais 15. Kansas City Joshua will remain on course and build a solid team for now and the future. Kansas City will select: Marcus Johansson 16. Florida (former Long Beach) Bryan will solidify his defence and this guy will definitely help! Florida Everblades will select: Travis Hamonic 17. Quebec This team has no needs and will draft the best young player that they feel may help them now and in the future. Quebec will select: Cody Hodgson 18. Boston (from NY) Doug Shirley can still use more offence and will continue the rebuilding process. Boston Whalers will select: Linus Omark!

Action PC! Hockey Installation Tips: When you order the game from DKS be sure to order the Deluxe version. If this is a first time order, then you will have to pay $ However for those who already have last year s version of the game, when prompted for coupon code type in: UPGRADE. This will apply the discount coupon and the game only costs $ When downloading the zip file be sure to click <OPEN> button. This will open a window that has all the files listed in the download. Inside that window click on the file that says setup.exe and the rest is fairly self explanatory (see figure below). When prompted during the set up always go with the default file location that the installation software suggests. That will make it easier for future updates. After the installation you will be taken to the start up screen for Action PC! Hockey. Be sure to click on the <ACTIVE> button and then select HK2011 to get the 2011 season loaded. FHL will get an update file out this week for all teams to start making their team cuts. Teams are allowed to protect a maximum of 26 players. You may actually cut more players (go below 26 players) if you wish to draft more rounds.

From the Commissioner s Office: Action PC Hockey release occurred a day ahead of time and has a lot of changes. Changes include: 1. A general lowering of all defensive ratings across the board for the players. This coincides with the release of the dual ratings for players in the defensive zone and a separate forechecking rating. Forwards average ratings appear to be around now. So forwards who are rated a 5 or higher are to be cherished more. 2. The 3 star PK ratings is far and few between. There are only 15 total players rated at 3 star for PK. Out of that 4 of them play on the Detroit Bandits (Eaves, Lilja, Helm, and Stuart). The Exton Igloos have 2 of them (Sopel, Morrison). Three of them belong to no team (Klesla, Betts, Conroy). Out of the 15 total players 9 of them are defenseman. 3. Expanded situations including broken sticks, delayed penalties, too many men on the ice, new sound effects of the puck hitting the cross bar (sometimes going in and sometimes not), etc. 4. Coaching changes with neutral zone options to dump and chase; skate and pass; or give up possession by dumping puck into zone and not contesting for puck. 5. Last few minutes of game allow for more adjustments when goalie is pulled. I think everyone will enjoy the new play enhancements. Now for some housekeeping items and calendar of event item comments: Calendar of Events FHL Year End Award ballots are due by August 8 please. Gamespeak Online will announce winners. Trading period from present time to August 29 Team Cuts due: August 29 FHL Rookie and Free Agent Draft: Tentatively September 6-11 FHL Start of Season: As early as Friday September 16 and as late as Saturday October 1 inclusive. Regular Season Ends April FHL Post Season April-May FHL Crystal Finals: May 1. Zero rated carded players (players who did not play in prior season but are currently on FHL rosters) can be protected by current team but will count against the 26 roster spots you can protect. If you decide not to protect player but to cut him, then the card will be eliminated and only available when player is re-carded in a future season. I will create that player if you decide to protect him and give him GP 0 to reflect he is not available this current season. 2. Due to late release of game (comparing to May 30, 2010 last year this game is out late by 2 months) the due date for team player cuts will be Monday August 29. Tentatively the draft will be September 6-11 (decided to do this after August since many people are on vacation in August and after Labor Day Holiday in USA which this year falls on September 5th). 3. The new FHL League File will be released this coming weekend (may come out with a bare bones FHL League File earlier just to get everyone going on their trade planning). This may have some missing players. Please let me know and I can correct errors as they arise. 4. Although this may seem obvious I thought I d better state it for the record: Ownership of the game is mandatory by the start of the FHL draft. 5. The beginning of the FHL Season will be either sometime in the last 2 weeks of September or October 1. More details will be forthcoming on this. 6. Please feel free to play some exhibition games against your fellow FHL teams. The game plays a little differently so be forewarned. Coaching is even more of a premium in APC! Hockey. 7. Each Playing Block will be 5 weeks (4 weeks to play game and submit Exported Games; and 1 week to upload new COA for following block). This will represent 1 month in APC! Hockey time. 8. Watch for procedural details of Draft on Gamespeak Online! Good luck to all!
