Getzlaf and Perry have been playing together since the 2005-06 season, going from the Ducks former AHL affiliate, Portland Pirates, to the Ducks.

2 Getzlaf role is on the line? Disher. We re a grind line. We cycle the puck and control it and make sure we handle it all night long. For the past few seasons, Perry and Getzlaf have been a dynamic duo for the Anaheim Ducks. Add in power forward and you have a lethal top line that has played together quite a bit this season. All three were Ducks first round draft picks. Getzlaf and Perry went 19th and 28th overall respectively in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and was drafted second overall, right behind Sidney Crosby of Pittsburgh in the 2005 Draft. Getzlaf and Perry have been playing together since the season, going from the Ducks former AHL affiliate, Portland Pirates, to the Ducks. Since then, the pair of 24-year-olds have combined for more than 200 goals and 300 assists. The last few years have been exciting for both of us, just developing that chemistry and friendship, Getzlaf says of his bond with Perry. We ve been getting better and better as time goes on. This season Getzlaf had six goals and 30 assists for 36 points and was ranked fifth in the league as of mid-december. Not to be outdone, Perry had been putting up the points as well. After going on a 19-game point streak recently (best in the NHL this year), the Peterborough, Ontario native had 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points, tying him with Getzlaf for fifth in the league. After leading all rookies in goals and scoring last season while finishing the year as a Calder morial Trophy finalist for outstanding play in his first full NHL season, continued to put up the offensive numbers once again this season. His 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points had him ranked third on the team, right behind Getzlaf and Perry. fit well on our line when he got here and it s been growing ever since, says Getzlaf. Our line s coming together as it goes. The three of them have great chemistry when they play together, which seemed to develop right away. It didn t take very long, Perry says. They re both my good friends off the ice and that translates to play on the ice. With the three of them playing very well this season when they have been on a line together, they have been making things happen on the ice for the Ducks. They re both scoring threats all the time, says Getzlaf of Perry and. It s great for me to know that I can give them the puck at any time around the net and there s a good chance it will go in. Perry agrees. They both know how to play the game, he says of Getzlaf and. They both have great vision on the ice and they both can score and put up points. has been enjoying the ride this season playing alongside Getzlaf and Perry. It s an adventure, he says of playing with Getzlaf. You never know what he s going to do. He s very good at surprising the other team and his linemates as well. As for his favorite part of playing with Perry, he simply says with a laugh his saucer passes, as if that s all that needs to be said. role is on the line? To give them the puck and then get open. I think I m an up and down the wing kind of guy that just goes in and tries to wear the other teams defense down by grinding down low and shoot the puck every chance I get. Perry role is on the line? To go to the front of the net and be in the goalie s face. Edgy or crash the net. I m a grinding forward that likes to play with the puck.

On Monday December 14th, 50 Ducks fans ranging from age 6 and up joined George Parros to help in the fight against cancer by donating their hair at the Third Annual George Parros Cut for the Kids at The Rinks Huntington Beach Inline to benefit the Childhood Leukemia Foundation (CLF). Professional hairstylists from SportClips volunteered to create a championship haircut experience with each participant donating at least 10 inches of hair to support the cause. Since the start of his professional career, Parros has been growing his hair long so he can donate it to nonprofits that provide children with wigs during their treatments. The 50 fans that participated received a George Parros autographed stick and a George Parros signature mustache for their donation. Hundreds of Ducks fans were on hand to watch the festivities and to cheer on the event participants. Fans also had the opportunity to meet George Parros and special surprise guest, Scott Niedermayer, who were available for pictures and autographs for a $10 donation to the Anaheim Ducks Foundation, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting CLF. In addition, an opportunity drawing was held to win a variety of great George Parros memorabilia. The event also featured Parros clothing line, Stache Gear, which was available for purchase and all proceeds from the line benefit CLF and Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids. The Third Annual George Parros Cut for the Kids raised over $2,200 for CLF. CLF is a national nonprofit organization that offers a wide range of services at no charge to children living with cancer and their families, as well as provides thousands of custom made, 100% human hair wigs with kid-friendly hats (Hugs-U-Wear) to children around the country. Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive To help spread cheer in Orange County this holiday season, the Ducks collected toys as part of the annual Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive at four home games in December and at The Rinks locations in Anaheim, Corona, Huntington Beach and Westminster. Thanks to the generous support of Anaheim Ducks fans, the 2009 Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive benefiting the 15th Annual Spark of Love Toy Drive with the Anaheim Fire Department and ABC 7 was a huge success, collecting more than 2,000 toys. The Anaheim Lady Ducks and firefighters were on hand at home games collecting new, unwrapped, toys, books and games, and each person with a donation to the Toy Drive received an Anaheim Ducks ticket voucher good for an upcoming Ducks home game. In addition, the Ducks participated in Stuff-A- Bus, benefiting the Spark of Love Toy Drive on December 18th, at Honda Center where over 15,000 toys were collected, filling five Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) buses full of toys. Ducks players Jonas Hiller and Dan Sexton, as well as Ducks mascot Wild Wing and the Power Players, helped in the collection. The Anaheim Stuff-A-Bus was ABC7's largest collection point for the entire Southern California region this holiday season.

Anaheim Ducks Player Rink Tour & Speaking Series As part of the Anaheim Ducks Future Ducks Rink Program, the Ducks will be visiting several rinks in the Southern California area this season. Players will visit seven of the program s rinks, where they will interact with a youth hockey team by visiting their locker room or actually lacing up their skates with the team during their practice. New to the Player Rink Tour this year will be a speaking series with Ducks players at some locations. Be sure to come on out to ask your favorite Ducks a few questions and hear what they have to say. The inaugural Anaheim Ducks High Five Skills Competition will make its debut Saturday, February 6! The competition tests skill level in five different categories: Skating, Shooting Accuracy, Hardest Shot, Breakaway Shootout and Goaltending and is open to boys and girls ages This year the competition will be divided into two segments, Travel and In-House, in order to create the most balanced competitive environment. Winners will be named in both divisions. The first segment of the competition will be for Travel players at Anaheim ICE from 7:20 10:20 am. The second segment of the competition will allow In-House players to go head to head at Aliso Viejo Ice Palace from 4:45 7:45 pm. Ducks players will be on hand to help out and give instruction to participants at both locations. Winners will receive a special Anaheim Ducks commemorative gift and two tickets to an upcoming Ducks game. Registration is $25 with all proceeds going to the Anaheim Ducks Foundation which helps facilitate and support programs that produce positive change for children and families throughout Southern California. The foundation seeks to do this by providing educational opportunities, broadening access to the sport of hockey and addressing the health and wellness needs of the community.
