1 Competition Rules and Conditions 1. Starting times: This competition we simply have eight divisions with a mixture of girls and boys; Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 Djokovic, Division 3 Murray, Division 4, Division 5, Division 6, and Division 7. There will be two groups: Group 1: Divisions 1, 2, 3 Djokovic, 3 Murray, Divisions 4 and 5, will play the inter association format of five sets (see rule 4). Matches will commence at 8.30am sharp and continue until matches are concluded. Group 2: Divisions 6 and 7 play three sets only and will start at 8.30am sharp (unless indicated on the draw) and continue until matches are concluded. All players must be ready to start at designated time above. For every 15 minute delay the team with players ready may claim a set. 2. Point score: One point for each game won, plus one point for each set won, plus five bonus points for a winning team based on games, ie total games won plus one point per set won plus five bonus points if you win overall on games equals the total score. 3. Result sheets: These must be forwarded to Mr L Paquola by only to lores1165@gmail.com by 6.00pm on the Sunday following the match. It is the responsibility of the winning captain to ensure the result sheet is filled out correctly Team Name(s), date of play, division you are in, plus the full name of each player, the results of every match, the addition of all games, and both captains having signed results. All must be completed in black or blue pen. Adults should check score sheets if there is any doubt. (a) (b) Wet matches - if in the opinion of the home team captain the courts are deemed to be too wet to play, they must notify the visiting team captain at least one hour prior to starting time. In this case, both teams must forward a result sheet in stating wet match and who advised it was wet. There is no need to contact Mr Summerside. Forfeits - if you cannot obtain a result slip, an stating your team received a forfeit must be received by Mr Paquola by 6.00pm on Sunday. 4. Loss of points: The winning team will be penalised 25% of their points for an incomplete score sheet and a further 25% for late lodgement of score sheets. This could mean you lose up to 50% of your points for two separate penalties. Any result sheet not received by the next match (ie the next Saturday morning) will not be considered and all points will therefore be lost by the winning team. 5. Last round, semi-finals and finals: All winning captains must contact Mr Paquola with results by 6.00pm on the Sunday following match, and also forward completed results sheets in normal manner by . Please abide by this rule as we must have the results quickly to be able to do the draw for the semi finals, finals and grand finals so JDO's and captains can be informed early. 6. Order and format of play: The format of play varies as follows: All teams will have nominated player 1 and player 2 for each match, as per the Club Team Entry

2 Sheet. If you are not sure, speak to your JDO or points will be deducted for wrong order of play. All sets are first to six games no tie-breaker, at five all next game winner wins the set. (i) Divisions defined in Group 1 (above) will play a two singles and one double each format. As follows 1 v 1; 2 v 2; 1 v 2; 2 v 1; 1 and 2 v 1 and 2. (ii) For all other divisions it will be one singles and one doubles each. As follows, 1 v 1; 2 v 2; 1 and 2 v 1 and Umpiring and ball persons: Self-umpiring proved to be successful last comp so there will be no chair umpires and no ball person. Therefore there will only be the players involved in the match on the court during play and the players will call the ball themselves. Players will have been told by their respective JDO's about the importance of calling fairly and honestly at all times. If you are not sure whether or not the ball is in or out the player must assume that the ball was in and play on. Players also need to call loudly and clearly the scores so that there is no confusion. At no time should any person off court interfere with the set in progress or question calls. The only exception is for a newer player who may need a hand in the early rounds. If parents are required to assist then a parent from both teams must be on the court. This avoids controversial decisions. If a player has a problem with the calling, that player should place his/her racquet on the ground before leaving the court to ask for assistance. A parent from both teams should then go on court to assist, but for a short period of time only. 8. Borrowed players: If you need to obtain a player to fill in for someone on your team that is unable to play then you may do so as follows: (i) You may borrow a player from the same division or lower than yours. Please contact that club's captain to see if a player is available. (ii) Players cannot be sought from a higher division without express clearance from Mr Summerside. (iii) For semi finals, finals and grand finals you may only borrow from a team which has not made the semi finals series and not their No 1 player (iv) If you borrow a player more than three times they are deemed a member of your team. 9. Supervision at matches: One adult must accompany each team on the morning of play and stay to supervise behaviour and also safety of players. Any offensive conduct is to be reported in writing to Mr Summerside. 10. Match play attire: Approved tennis clothing must be worn at all times. The following items are not suitable tennis attire, ie board shorts, jeans, joggers, and Hawaiian shirts. 11. Ball fee: $2 per person per match. 12. Semi-finals, finals, and grand-finals: During semi-finals, finals and grand finals only, the third and fourth player may be used for the doubles set, provided that this is written on the result slip and the opposition is notified prior to commencement of the match.
