3 2011 DEVELOPMENT CAMP COACHING STAFF TOM RENNEY Head Coach On June 22, 2010, Tom Renney became the 10 th head coach in franchise history, after joining the Oilers as an Associate Coach for the season. In his first season as Head Coach he led the club to a record. Renney spent the previous nine seasons with the New York Rangers, the last four as their Head Coach. After being named the 33rd head coach in franchise history on July 6, 2004, Renney led the Rangers to 40-or-more wins in three consecutive seasons, a feat last accomplished by the club in Over the course of 327 games he guided the Rangers to a record including three straight post-season appearances from Renney was appointed as the Rangers interim Head Coach on February 25, 2004 after beginning the season as an Assistant Coach. He was originally named to the coaching staff on July 21, He spent his first two seasons with New York as Director of Player Personnel, where he oversaw all facets of the team s amateur scouting operation, while assisting with the professional scouting department. He was promoted to Vice President, Player Development on June 21, In that position, he oversaw all facets of the team s amateur scouting operations, while also assisting with the professional scouting process and player development within the organization. During this time, Renney was influential in the drafting of several current Rangers impact players and top prospects. Renney s coaching experience spans 15 years and includes several accolades. He began his tenure behind the bench with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League and immediately established himself as one of the league s best. In two seasons with the Blazers, Renney led the club to consecutive WHL titles, along with a Memorial Cup championship as the Canadian Hockey League s top team. His Kamloops clubs compiled a sparkling record for.714 winning percentage, which ranks as the all-time highest winning mark in CHL history. Following his noteworthy junior career, Renney joined Hockey Canada in 1993, where he was quick to find success as well. After being appointed Head Coach of the Team Canada in August, 1993, he guided the club to a silver medal finish at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. In total, Renney has coached in 10 world championship competitions, capturing three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze. Most recently, Renney has served his country on Team Canada s coaching staff at the 2004 and 2005 World Championships. At the 2004 tournament in Czech Republic, he helped guide the team to Canada s second consecutive gold medal at the prestigious tournament. In 2005, Renney and Team Canada once again appeared in the World Championship s final game, but were left with the silver medal after falling to the Czech Republic. In addition to his extensive career with Hockey Canada, Renney served as Head Coach of the Vancouver Canucks from June 1996 through November, He compiled a record. Tom and his wife, Glenda, have two daughters, Jessica and Jamie.

4 MIKE SILLINGER Director of Player Development Mike Sillinger begins his third season as the Oilers Director of Player Development after a lengthy career in the National Hockey League. Sillinger will work with Edmonton s prospects in both the AHL and ECHL and with Oilers draft picks in the junior and college ranks. The 40-year-old well-traveled centre has played for 12 NHL clubs, most recently suiting up for the New York Islanders. Originally drafted 11 th overall in 1990 by the Detroit Red Wings, Sillinger began his NHL career in Detroit before continuing on to play for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators and New York Islanders. Sillinger played his junior with the Regina Pats and was named a WHL First All-Star Team selectee in 1991, his final junior year. After splitting time in Adirondack and Detroit, he carved out a solid career in the big leagues eventually playing 1,049 games scoring 240 goals and 308 assists for 548 points. Internationally Sillinger represented Team Canada on two occasions, winning a gold medal at the 1991 World Junior Championships and leading his country as their captain at the 2000 World Championships. Sillinger was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He has three sons Owen, 14; Lukas, 11; and Cole, 8 with his wife Karla, also of Regina. During Sillinger's NHL career, they spent the off-seasons in their hometown. BILL MOORES Coordinator of Player Development Bill Moores is entering his 12 th season with the Oilers and second as the Coordinator, Player Development. Prior to that was a scout for a year and an assistant coach from Moores joined the Oilers coaching staff on July 21, Prior to returning to his hometown, Moores had previously served as an assistant coach with the New York Rangers in and In , Moores and Craig MacTavish served as assistant coaches with the Rangers. After playing four seasons of junior hockey with the Edmonton Oil Kings ( to ) and a season with the University of Alberta, which saw him lead the Golden Bears in scoring in , he coached in the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association for several seasons before returning to his alma mater as an assistant coach to Clare Drake in From to Moores was a member of the Golden Bears coaching staff, serving as an assistant coach for 10 seasons and head coach for seven. He was first named head coach of Alberta in when Clare Drake was with the 1980 Canadian Olympic Team and he also replaced Drake in before assuming the head coaching duties on a full time basis in In his seven seasons as head coach at Alberta, Moores compiled a career record of (.717) with a Canada West Hockey conference record of (.720). A four-time Canada West Hockey Coach of the Year (1984, 1990, 1991, 1993) and two-time CIAU Coach of the Year (1980, 1991), Moores led the Golden Bears to five CIAU national championship tournaments, winning the University Cup in 1980 and His teams won five Canada West conference titles and never finished lower than second place, winning 30-or-more games in five of his seven seasons behind the Alberta bench. He was inducted into the University of Alberta s Sports Wall of Fame in In he spent a season as coach and general manager of the Western Hockey League s Regina Pats, guiding the team to a third place finish in the league s East Division with a record. Following the season, Moores took a leave of absence from the University of Alberta to coach in Japan where he served as head coach of the Kokudo Bunnies in and He guided Kokudo to the Japanese Ice Hockey Federation championship in 1995 with a record and a 3-2 win in the best-of-five final. After his second season in Japan, Moores accepted an assistant coaching position with the Rangers, but his ties to Japan did not end as he served as a consultant to the Japanese National Team and was an assistant with Japan at the 2000 IIHF World Championships in St. Petersburg, Russia. Moores and his wife, Connie reside in Edmonton.

5 FREDERIC CHABOT Goaltending Coach Frederic Chabot enters his third season with the Edmonton Oilers where the 43-year-old will work with both the Oilers goaltenders as well as the developing netminders in the system. Chabot joins the Oilers after most recently serving as Goaltending Consultant with Hockey Canada and their National Junior Team, helping Canada capture a gold medal at the 2009 World Junior Hockey Championship in Ottawa, Ontario. He was also an instructor at Hockey Canada s Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp for three years ( ). The Hebertville, Quebec, native worked as a Goaltending Consulltant with Berlin (DEL) last season, capturing the league championship with the Ice Bears. He was also involved with AIK Stockholm (SWE- 2) for the past two seasons ( ), overseeing goaltending for the entire organization. A veteran of 17 professional seasons, Chabot played 32 National Hockey League games with three different teams (Montreal, Philadelphia and Los Angeles). His playing career was highlighted during the season when he was named the International Hockey League s Most Valuable Player and Top Goaltender, posting a 2.13 goals against average and a.920 save percentage in 62 games played with the Houston Aeros. He was also named Top Goaltender in as a member of the Aeros. STEVE SERDACHNY Skating & Skills Coach Steve Serdachny brings an extensive background of skating and power skating to the Oilers organization in his role as Edmonton s Skating and Skills Coach. Now in his sixth season with the Oilers, he works at improving the skating and hockey skill sets of players at all levels of the organization, working closely with the players during training camp and throughout the season. Prior to his current position, he worked at several Oilers training camps and rookie development camps. Through his Elite Power Skating & Hockey Schools, the Edmonton native has worked with players throughout North America and Europe. Besides his work with the Oilers, he has worked with individual NHL players during the off-season as well as with Farjestads BK of the Swedish Elitserien and SAIPA of the Finnish SM-Liiga. Serdachny, the creator of The Steve Serdachny Power Skating and Skill Development SystemTM, can also be seen on the NHL Network as the Hockey & Skating expert from Hockey Canada s television show Hockey Academy. SIMON BENNETT Fitness Consultant Simon enters his third year as Fitness Consultant with the Oilers. In this role he is responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of strength, conditioning and nutrition for players throughout the organization. Simon is a prominent expert in the field of personal fitness and high performance conditioning. He has changed the lives of countless clients with his relentless commitment to training and education. He works and consults with a long list of high profile business leaders, CEOs and professional athletes. Simon is president and co-founder of Body by Bennett; a premier professional health, wellness and training facility, where he provides an innovative sport-conditioning and athletic development program, in addition to general population programs. He is co-creator of the instructional DVD Reactive Movement Ability Training for Hockey, an innovative movement training program for young players. Simon is also a fitness educator and author. He has presented such topics as, athletic conditioning, functional movement training, and peak performance, to sports teams, professional organizations and fitness trainers. Simon is characterized by his energy, enthusiasm, and passion for fitness and sport. He lives by the motto your attitude in life determines your quality of life. His personal training style is to lead by example and motivate through encouragement. Simon s interests include taking risks, playing hockey, golfing, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding.
