1 September/October 9, 2015 Presidents Message Presidents Message The Love Bugs have returned to Central Florida but don t seem as many as in past cycles. And the rains should let up in a few weeks. Drive with care. On Saturday, August 15th we held a meeting at my shop in Winter Haven. Thanks to all that could attend. The meeting was productive and we were well fed. Some even found A/C help as we had the Vintage Air dealer in attendance. His shop is by mine as is Bill Richards. Who would like to host a meeting? The months for the balance of the year will include meetings at various events. See the schedule included in your newsletter. And if you are coming near the Winter Haven area please stop by. Smokey Mountains Regional Meet, Townsend, TN hosted by the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Falcon Club of America. Information and registration form on Chapter website and current National Falcon News. Crusin the Coast on the Gulfcoast of Mississippi. Approximately Falcons of the Falcon Club of America will be participating this year. Lake Mirror Classic in Lakeland,FL Suncoast Chapter will hold it s October Meeting at this event at 11:00. Members bringing their Falcon to this event will meet at Meisner s Body Shop on Michigan at 8:30 to drive in together. Falcons will leave the meeting area at 9: nd Annual Turkey Run Car Show and Swap Meet at Daytona International Speedway. The Suncoast Chapter will be hosting the Club parking for our Falcons. 5 2015 Turkey Run We received our parking space assignment and as requested we have the same spaces as last year, PL B We all agree that these are the best spaces in the infield. As of this date we have 14 of our 20 spaces reserved. If you plan to attend this event and would like to park with the Suncoast Chapter please let me know as we are down to 6 spaces remaining. Remember you must have a club parking windshield sticker to get in to the parking area. Once again parking will be free to Suncoast Members and we will ask for a donation from other Falcon and Ford drivers.. Thanks for your support for our Chapter by attending this event. Chuck Beason Suncoast Member 2016 Silver Springs Mustang and Ford Round Up The 2016 event will be a 1 day event for the first time in the history of this event. 6 August Minutes of last meeting Aug. 15, 2015 In attendance: Bill & Carol Shira Gary & Tammy Cantwell Chuck & Carolyn Beason Ray Chevalier James Lisk Fred Lievertz Tom Wanzie Bill Shira called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. The treasurer s report was given and accepted. Reviews of our previous meetings minutes were given, discussion as follows; 1) 2015 Turkey Run Nov , 2015 Club parking ($120) remains the same as previous years with 20 spaces allotted to the Suncoast Chapter. As this is reviewed yearly by the overseers of the Turkey Run, it is imperative that we fill as many of the 20 spaces as possible. To that end we will admit other Ford vehicles into our spaces, asking only for a donation, to be added to our fund earmarked for donation to a charity at the Turkey Run. 2) The Tennessee Valley Falcons Chapter will be hosting their 2nd Falcon Regional Meet & Old Ford Show in Townsend, TN on October 2-3, The event site is the Talley Ho Inn in Townsend. Ya ll come and cruise to Biloxi with us after our show. We will meet at Miesner Auto Body, 925 N. Massachusetts Ave. Lakeland, FL prior to entering show. We must enter as a club to assure parking so please contact Chuck Beason/Bill Shira/James Lisk for meeting time. See for registration form. 5) Silver Springs, Jan. 9, 2016 a premier All-Ford show in Ocala, FL when the weather is more suitable to many of us. As usual, National Parts Depot sponsors this event. 7 (Minutes continued) New Business: 1) Club donation/sponsorship for The Tennessee Valley Falcons Chapter. A $ donation to be made to TVF Chapter for the sponsorship of four (4) awards to be presented at their 2nd Regional Meet. Our chapter name will be placed on each of the four awards. Motion made by Chuck Beason, seconded by James Lisk, all attending approved. 2) Club donation for the 2016 FCA National Convention. A $ donation to be made to 2016 Falcon Nationals to aid in their success. Motion made by James Lisk, seconded by Gary Cantwell, all attending approved. 3) All members are asked to give a look and possibly join two Falcon related media sites. One is the Ford Falcon Owners Group (FFOG) on Facebook; the other is TFFN (The Ford Falcon TFFN.net. Both sites are relative to our hobby, very interesting and informative. Who knows, you might learn something or share some of your best kept secrets. An open floor discussion period followed the above with Fred Lievertz of Claremont requesting some assistance with his 64, his particular issues were with his radio, w/w motor and some questions about his steering. The topic of a regional meet for our club arose, possibly in the fall/winter of Ray Chevalier volunteered to do some preliminary paperwork and outline for this particular event. 8 Recipe Corner Crazy Good Casserole Ingredients: 1 rotisserie chicken shredded 6 strips cooked bacon 1 T. bacon grease 2 cans cream of chicken soup 2-3 cups grated Monterey Jack cheese 1 box dried spiral pasta 1 T. garlic powder or grandules Salt and Pepper to taste Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Shred chicken into small to medium pieces. Cook and crumble bacon and set aside. Cook pasta. Add to chicken : 1 T. bacon grease, 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 1 T. garlic power. Drain pasta holding back 2 cups of pasta water to use as thinning agent. Add pasta to chicken and mix well adding 1 ½ cups cheese and half ot the crumbled bacon, salt and pepper to taste. Use as much of the pasta water to allow it not to be to thick. Put into a sprayed 9 X 13 pan and top with remaining cheese and bacon. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cheese is beginning to turn brown on top. Serve with a vegetable and salad
