1 Presidents Message Greetings Fellow Falconeers! Well, summer is still going on and it seems that every night there is some sort of a gathering for those of us that live for our cars. We sure had a great time at Old Town on Saturday, June 18th. A great lunch at Red Lobster right near where the cars gather so, after a brief club meeting we adjourned to the show car parking area. It was early so not too many cars but WOW, we were cheered by the crowd. We had 4 second generation Falcon hardtops and a Comet sedan (compliments of Cam Baker). The crowd there was a bit in awe of seeing that many square bodied Fords. We had quite a few lookers and I ll bet the other owners there answered as many questions as I did. Then the rains came and pushed us out. Still, I had a ton of fun. I am still recovering from the trip to Wisconsin for the FCA National Convention. What a great venue we were at. Ho-Chunk Casino Wisconsin Dells. There were almost 300 Falcons registered and many that I had never seen because they were Midwest based. Many who are member of our chapter were there. Carolyn & Chuck Beason, Tammy & Gary Cantwell, Ginny & Ray Chevalier, Mary & Dave Wagner and Linda & Dick Harrington. Congrats to all who were awarded for their efforts. The Nationals were preceded by a little track time for Gary & I and a dozen other Falcons at Road America, the road course in Elkhart Lakes WI. We were with a group Mike Garrett from MD has put together. We were the VIPs of the day and had full access to everything. Once they got the Indy cars and CanAm cars off the track, it was ours. Mike did this for us last year (Lime Rock Park) and all attending the Nationals are invited. Was absolutely a memory maker and a real test of our cars. For me the FCA Nationals has become an annual trip that I really look forward to. Before I went to my first event I didn t think this would be that important to me. Wrong! My summer now includes this as a yearly event. And I just started last year. For me this is the test of my ability to maintain and improve my car. And if or when I complete the trip I am proud and confident of my car. And the plus? Getting to see all of the folks that I have met at FCA events. So keep on enjoying your ride. 5 Turkey Run 2016 We have now received our Club Parking assignment and windshield stickers for the 2016 event. Once again in 2016 as we requested we did receive the same spaces as for the past several years, PL-B The Suncoast Chapter will host Club Parking for Falcons and will be at no cost to Suncoast Members. We will ask for a donation of $6 per Falcon for non Suncoast Falcons to be collected on site at Turkey Run Club Parking space. It is time to start registering for this event and letting me know to get your spot reserved as spaces are limited. When registering for the Turkey Run Show please use the Falcon Club of America as your Club Affiliation. I have registered and received registration # 112. 7 Note: photos provided courtesy of Dave Wagner, Suncoast Member Recipe Corner BBQ Pulled Chicken 6 Boneless Chicken Breasts 1 Can of Soda (Usually Root beer, I used Diet Dr. Pepper because that's what I had) 2 19 oz. Bottles of BBQ Sauce (I used Jack Daniels Original) *I always spray my crockpot with Pam before I use it Place the chicken and soda in the crockpot Cook on high 4-6 hours or low 8 hours Remove [cooked] Chicken and drain all liquid from crockpot Place chicken back in crockpot, add BBQ sauce and shred At this point, you should be able to just push on the chicken with your tongs and it will fall apart. Mix thoroughly, eat immediately or keep on warm! - 7 -

8 White BBQ Sauce: for a different texture and taste try this BBQ sauce Yield: Makes 1 1/2 cups Ingredients 1 cup mayonnaise 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar 3 teaspoons water 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce Preparation Stir together mayonnaise, vinegar, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Serve immediately or chilled. Refrigerate up to 3 days
