2 President's Corner July's monthly meeting has been cancelled because many of our members, including me, will not be available to attend and it doesn't make sense to have a meeting with only a handful of people attending. We did, however, have an executive meeting and discussed many other topics other than the meeting. Among them was a plan to increase cooperation between us and the Westchester Club, with whom we have had several cooperative events. I spoke with their president, Dennis Tedesco, and we agreed to have a joint meeting of our and their executive boards to discuss further cooperation between our two clubs. We both agreed that each club would retain its unique identity but would find new ways to cooperate and support each other. On July 4, our Club had ten corvettes participating in the New Fairfield Parade and had a picture in the local News-Times. Bad weather forced cancellation of the Maywood Farm fireworks display on July 2. Some upcoming events are the July 30 Long Island Sound Lighthouse Tour that has twenty-three people signed up and paid. Our annual "No Car Show, After Car Show Party" will be held on Saturday, August 5 at 3PM at 792 Candlewood Lake Road South, New Milford. Save the date for this event and for our Club picnic on Sunday, August 13 at Bennett Memorial Park, 14 Shelter Rock Road, Bethel. Our regular picnic location in Macedonia Sate Park has been closed due to the state's budget crisis. Further information to follow on these events. Our Hospitality Chair, Nina Zschunke, Has undergone serious heart surgery and is recuperating at home. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Joe Wodarski President 2

Stewart Airport Air Show was a great experience that some members attended & the Blue Angels were a awesome sight to see!! We had a nice turnout for the New Fairfield July 4th Parade!! NF Lions Club told Parade goers about the CVCC history & we had great pictures in the Danbury News-Times. Looking forward to our upcoming events now that and looking forward to a great summer of cruising in our cars!! 4 Executive Secretary s Corner Candlewood Valley Corvette Club Thursday June 15, 2017 The Hearth Restaurant Brookfield, CT Call to Order: 7:00 PM The regular meeting of the CVCC was held Thursday June 15 th at 7:00 PM at the Hearth Restaurant in Brookfield CT. President Joe Wodarski called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM preceding dinner. He led us in The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. 16 members were in attendance. Business Meeting: President Wodarski asked if there were any changes to the May minutes. No changes were made and they were accepted by Fred McKenna & seconded by Bob Moriarty. President Wodarski talked about the upcoming July 2 nd NY Air Show that is being held at Stewart Airport in Newburgh NY. He suggested to the members attending the event use their daily drivers, as the parking situation is not good for corvettes. The Fourth of July New Fairfield parade is on Tuesday July 4 th at 9:30am. Members who want to participate in the parade she meet at McDonalds parking lot on North St. Danbury CT at 8:30am. Another upcoming event is the New London Lighthouse Cruise on Sunday July 30 th. Since member Nancy Tolmoff, who organized the event is currently on vacation President Wodarski asked members who plan on attending to prepay as Nancy has to purchase the tickets in advance. Members attending should meet at the Park & Ride off exit 9 on Rt 84 as we plan to leave there at 9:30am for the 12:00pm cruise. Members should use their daily drivers for this event also. The cruise lasts around 2 hours after which we will have lunch at The Steak Loft in Mystic CT. The No Show Car Show party at the Wodarski s is being held on August 5 th at 3:00pm at 792 Candlewood Lake Rd So. In New Milford CT. Our CVCC Annual picnic will not be held at Macadonia State Park as the park is closed this year due to CT State budget cuts. Hospitality Chair Nina Zschunke will look into some other options in either New Milford or Bethel. Other Events: 4

5 The Adirondack Vette Fest in Queensbury NY is taking place on Sept. 8 th -10 th. This is always a fun event that many members attend. The Vettes to Vettes Show in Billerica MA on Sept. 23 rd & 24 th is another great event that normally has over 570 attending this show. Hotel rooms are filling up so make your reservations soon before they sell out. Please bring donated items to the show for the Veterans as many items are needed. Lunch is also served at the Sunday event. Hospitality Chair Nina Zschunke is scheduled for surgery this week. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery! 8 IN THE FUTURE Dear CVC members, The annual picnic is on Sunday August 13th. It will be held at Bennett Memorial Park in Bethel at noon. Please me and let me know if you will be attending and what your favorite picnic salad will be. The club will supply water and soda and the dessert. Cost is 10 dollars per person. Just trying to get a jump on things so Go to your calendar not doing anything that day me now.it will be another fun day. If I have left anything out let me know. Directions will be ed later.
