1 Harbor Springs Ice Rink and Kiwanis Park Sledding Hill Winter Tentative Schedule Santa s Workshop Saturday, December 7 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harbor Springs Library This event is a joint event with the Harbor Springs Library and is designed to give local children a chance to make Christmas gifts for their friends and family. Itinerary 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hand Painted Canvas Tote Bags 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Hand Painted Neckties 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Chalkboard Coasters Crowle Hole Winter Disc Golf Tournament Saturday, December 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at Kiwanis Park Tournament Divisions and Prizes Open Division - players will compete for prize money: $50-1 st place, $35-2 nd place, $20-3 rd place. Amateur Division - players will compete for prize money: $50-1 st place, $35-2 nd place, $20-3 rd place. Ace Pool - $2 from each entry will go towards the pool. Food Snacks will be served between rounds. Pizza will be served after the second round. Snack and lunch are for participants only. Registration Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on the day of the event. The tournament is limited to 72 participants. Registration will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Tournament Structure The Crowle Hole Winter Classic will consist of two rounds of golf. (See Itinerary) The tournament will be a shotgun start. Participants will be randomly placed in groups of four. Morning round groups will be based on the order in which participants pay for the event. Scramble pairs will be created based on morning round standings. Tournament will be played in accordance with the Professional Disc Golf Association s Competition Manual. Players are encouraged to visit to review competition rules.

2 For additional information visit the Harbor Springs Sk8 Park (740 East Main Street, Harbor Springs - next to the baseball fields) or call the Sk8 Park at (231) Dinner and a Movie Nights Friday Nights - January 3 - March 14 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday nights throughout the winter, the park will be showing movies and serving pizza to anyone who wishes to participate. It is free to watch the movie. Dinner is $5 per person. Ice Skating at the Ice Rink - Saturday Afternoons - January 4 March 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This winter at the ice rink we will be hosting ice skating games on Saturday afternoons. We started this last year and it was a huge hit. From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. we play a series of ice skating games including broomball, four corners, pom-pom, and other games. We give the winners of the games silly prizes. January Community Sledding Night at Kiwanis Park - Saturday, January 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This winter we will be hosting out usual community sledding nights with food, prizes, games, crafts, and sledding. The first sledding party will be a winter themed party. The A-Bottle-Able Snowman Frosty the Doorstop Fairy Snowflakes Ping-Pong Basketball Snowball Making Relay Race Indoor Snowman Building Penguin Ring Toss Marble Roulette Valentine Community Sledding Night at Kiwanis Park - Saturday, February 8 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The second sledding party of the season will be a Valentine themed party. 4 Candy Guessing Game Find Your Mate Twister Stack the Hearts Find the Gummy Bears Heart Target Winter Olympics at the Ice Rink - Monday, February 17 from noon to 5 p.m. This is a special way to celebrate the 2014 Winter Olympics, Presidents Weekend, and a day off of school. Participants will compete in 13 different winter Olympic inspired games. Winner will win a medal and represent their country in a medal ceremony. Speed Skating Races Relay Races Figure Skating Hockey Shoot Out Snowball Distance Throw Snowball Target Toss Snowman Building Skate Tying Race Skate Untying Race Snow Angel Races Flag in the Snow Stack Get on a Roll Hat Trick Mardi Gras Around the World Sledding Night at Kiwanis Park - Saturday, March 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The third sledding party of the season will be a Mardi Gras themed party. This party will feature Mardi Gras themed games, prizes, and crafts. 5 (Maslenitsa, Moscow, Russia) Pancake Toss Relay (Shrove Tuesday, England) Build an Indoor Snow Fort (Winter Festival, Quebec, Canada) Musical Numbers (Mardi Gras, New Orleans) Orange Fight (Carnival of Binche, Belgium) (Sled Night, Harbor Springs) King's Cake (Mardi Gras, New Orleans) Piñata (Fastelavn, Denmark) Alternative Spring Break - Monday, March 31 - Friday, April 4 time TBA These events are designed to provide those kids who stay home for spring break the opportunity to have a fun and enjoyable vacation. A different event is scheduled for each day of the week. Activities include: Minute to Win It Challenge, Connect 4 Challenge, Silly Game Day, and a Pool Party. Snow/Mud Run Saturday, April 5 at Kiwanis Park from noon to 3 p.m. Snow/Mud Run is a race in which a competitor, traveling on foot, must overcome various physical challenges (obstacles). The race combines mud and trail runs designed to make competitors very tired. Easter Egg Hunt and Party at Kiwanis Park - Saturday, April 12 from noon to 3 p.m. As usual we will be having an Easter Party this year. The event will include an egg hunt, pictures with the Easter bunny, free lunch, prizes, games and crafts.
