4 LIVESTOCK BEAUTY CONTEST LIVESTOCK BEAUTY CONTEST Local es Open to members of 4-H, Grange, FFA & Independents of Amador and Calaveras Counties. Open to any breed listed below which was entered in and exhibited by an FFA, Grange, 4-H or Independent member in the Amador County Fair. Judging is based on how unique, handsome and beautiful the animal is as enhanced by cosmetics, ribbons or any paraphernalia as well as spectator appeal. The class will be judged by a panel of selected judges. Members may assist each other in developing a spectacular entry. Cute Cavies STALL DISPLAY CONTEST This contest provides exhibitors with an opportunity to acquaint the public with their projects. The displays will be judged on the overall appearance of an exhibitor s animal exhibit, including photos, displays, posters, decorations and information about the animal. Photos must include the exhibitor and livestock animal project. Photos may show what has been learned, activities participated in, how to do something related to the project, or a posed photo of the livestock, with or without the exhibitor. Display must not be over 4 x 4 for large animals (cattle, sheep, swine, goats) and not over 11 x 17 for small animals (poultry, rabbits). Displays to be placed in same area as livestock and out of livestock s reach. $40 CASH AWARD WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE CLUB WINNER. $20 CASH AWARD WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE INDIVIDUAL CLASS WINNER. 5 CLEAN STALL AWARD DIVISION 117 CLEAN STALL AWARD NO Pre-entry required AMADOR COUNTY FAIR will award a $10.00 cash prize to the 4-H, Grange, FFA or Independent exhibitor in each livestock category (beef, sheep, goats & swine), who maintains the cleanest stall and the most attractive exhibit for the duration of the fair. 4-H Primary Exhibitors will be Participation Ribbons Only BURT & GWEN SHAFER will award $30.00 cash award to the 4-H, Grange, FFA or Independent exhibitor who maintains the cleanest stall for Dairy Goats. RICHARD & LAURIE FORSTER OF FORSTER LIVESTOCK will award a $10.00 premium to the 4-H, Grange or FFA exhibitor who maintains the cleanest & most attractive pen for the duration of the fair in Poultry & Rabbits. HELEN VANCE IN MEMORY OF DONALD O. VANCE will award a $50 premium for the 4-H, Grange or FFA exhibitor who maintains the cleanest stall for Beef Cattle. Mr. Clean CLASS CLASS 1. Beef 5. Rabbits HERDSMANSHIP AWARD DIVISION 118 HERDSMANSHIP COMPETITION $100 CASH AWARD DONATED BY SIMMONS LANDSCAPE COMPANY CHAD SIMMONS The Herdsmanship competition is designed to encourage Clubs to maintain their exhibits at the highest standard of efficiency and attractiveness throughout the period of the Junior Livestock Show. The time of this competition will be from 9:00 am, Wednesday, of the Fair to 5:00 pm, Saturday, of the Fair and will be judged daily during this time. This competition may be judged at any time between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Should it be necessary to have all stalls judged after 5:00 pm, individual clubs will not lose courtesy points due to member absence. Herdsmanship Competition must be carried out without adult assistance. All Chapters and Clubs are automatically entered. BASIS OF SCORING: A. IDENTIFICATION. 10 points Each club is required to be identified by an appropriate sign. Further decoration is not essential. Fire regulations forbids the use of crepe paper streamers in decorations. B. STALLS.. 25 points Adequate bedding, cleanliness, neatness and tidiness are expected. C. ANIMALS...20 points Animals tied properly, kept clean and well groomed at all times. D. EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES..25 points Boxes kept tidy and out of alleyways, supplies kept neat and orderly. E. EXHIBITORS. 20 points Club members should display courtesy and politeness to the public at all times. Members should be neat and their conduct above reproach. 74
6 INTER CLUB COMPETITION Sponsored by the Manassero Family An award will be presented to the highest overall participant by a 4-H or Grange Club at the Amador County Fair. The goal of this award is to increase the participation, sense of competition and gain a unity within the 4-H and Grange Clubs during the Amador County Fair. Awards are based on a point system for all placings in 4-H & Grange divisions in the premium book, excluding gardens. The number of points is divided by the number of members in their respective club, multiplied by the percentage of enrollment participating in the Fair. Only clubs, which have submitted rosters, will be eligible. THE ROSTERS SUBMITTED AS OF FRIDAY, JUNE 24 WILL BE THE BASIS FOR SCORING. The award will consist of a perpetual trophy with the club s name engraved upon it. The winning club will receive an individual trophy for display, which will be presented at the Junior Livestock Auction. YOUTH TRACTOR RODEO Tractor Driving Contest Two Divisions: Ages: 12 to to 18 Must be entered WITH a Release of Liability signed by a Parent or Guardian by 5 pm- Thursday, July 26, 2016, at the Fair s Main Office.
