The Remington Lot is located at 11th Avenue and 5th Street SE. This Lot has a shuttle running 24 hours a day to and from the Olympic Way gate and the Lot. Media Lounge (*New location) Agrium Western Event Centre (back of rotunda) Open: 11 a.m. 7:30p.m. Stampede Rodeo information is available in the lounge. The Media Lounge is for members of the media only. For access, please show your 2015 media accreditation pass. We request that media do not use the Media Lounge to conduct interviews. International Room Agriculture Building, second floor Open: 11 a.m. 7 p.m. Each year the International Room hosts more than 1,800 visitors from countries around the world. We provide a venue for agriculture product and service exhibits, sharing information on industry, sampling Alberta-grown food products. We invite international visitors involved in the agriculture industry to mingle with producers, industry specialists, government representatives, and exporters. 4 About the Calgary Stampede The Calgary Stampede is a volunteer-supported, not-for-profit community organization that work strives to preserve and celebrate out western heritage, cultures and community spirit. The Stampede contributes to the quality of life in Calgary and southern Alberta through its world-renowned 10-day Stampede, the yearround facilities, and youth and agricultural programs. All revenue is reinvested into the programs and facilities of the Calgary Stampede. Quick Facts The Calgary Stampede was first held in The Stampede offers the largest purse in outdoor rodeo over $2 million. The GMC Rangeland Derby chuckwagon purse is more than $1.15 million. More than one million people attend the 1 day Stampede each July. More than 30,000 Stampede posters are distributed around the world annually. More than two million mini doughnuts are sold each year. More than 200,000 pancakes are served at community breakfasts each year. Stampede Park is comprised of 208 acres. Approximately 3.6 million people visit Stampede Park year-round. Each year 26 tipis are set up in Indian Village. More than 30,000 flowers are planted on Stampede Park each year. The Calgary Stampede is a not-for-profit organization Calgary Stampede Foundation is a registered charitable organization. Agriculture is at the root of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede since its formation in 1886 as the Calgary Agricultural Society. The Stampede has more than 2,000 year-round volunteers and over 1,200 year-round employees. Each July the Stampede hires more than 3,000 seasonal employees.
