2 Welcome to Run Away to the Bay 2016 In our fifth year, Run Away Shoes wanted to continue our goal of having a fun and technically sound relay for runners in the Fox Valley. This race was designed to bring the local running community together in an exciting new way. Our even has been a cohesion of so many things. We work with 4 counties, 5 townships, 6 cities, and whole lot of police, insurance, and other behindthe-scenes people to make this happen. Some people we should say Thank You to are: The many sponsors who have dedicated their time and money to a race that is turning into a major spring event, Sue McDowell for being Best Mother Ever to Julia and Graham, and The best race volunteers we could ask for who make it a fun and safe event for all. Ross Weekend Schedule of Events Friday, April 29 4 to 7 pm: Packet Pick-up at Run Away Shoes, W3192 Cty KK, Appleton Saturday, April 30 5:30 to 9am: Packet Pick-up at start line in Menomonee Park, Oshkosh 7 to 9am: Wave Starts 6pm: Finish line closes 7pm: Finish line party ends * Results will be available at the finish line once teams have finished. Hagemeister Park is a 9,000 square foot restaurant along with a 4,000 square foot outdoor patio featuring a heated canopy and an ice skating rink. The restaurant will feature a 300 patron capacity, meeting/party rooms for with technology amenities, over 20 TVs for sports viewing and incredible water views. The restaurant will also provide public restrooms for CityDeck visitors and event attendees.

6 Information and Road Rules Each team is supplied one slap band. This must be worn by the team member while running on the course. The runners will exchange the slap bands at designated Exchange Zones only. ALL traffic has the right-of-way while you are running on the course! Follow the RUN AWAY TO THE BAY signs. These will be placed on the side of the road that you are to be running on. If there is a sidewalk available, that is where you should be running, not in the road. Relay teams must cover the entire 55.6 miles to be eligible for awards and official finish times. If a runner is unable to complete a leg, another member of the team must take over where the other runner left off and complete the leg. RUN AWAY TO THE BAY signage will be at every turn and mile marker. Headphones are allowed, but please keep the volume low. We recommend using just one earphone. Your safety is our #1 concern. Every Exchange Zone will have water and Gatorade available. Broken Tree Pizza will be available for purchase at the LedgeStone Vinyards exchange from 12PM until 3PM. Wilmar Chocolates will have samples at the finish line as well as massage courtesy of Restore U Solutions. Your team is allowed to give you assistance in the form of food, fluids, and clothing while running your leg, but no rides. You must have your ID to enter the post-race party tent at Hagemeister Park. No exceptions! This is at 325 N Washington Street, Green Bay. Food and drink are free, (yes, including beer) to all participants and volunteers. Parking is available at Cherry Street and Main Street parking ramps.
