1 The Rules of Run in Mont-Saint- Michel edition Updated on 6 th November 2017 Article 1 - Preamble The Marathon de la Baie du Mont Saint-Michel (hereafter the Event ), is a sports event which combines three individually-timed road races (a half-marathon, a duo-marathon and a marathon) as well as a coastal trail. These races will take place on Saturday 26 th and Sunday 27 th May 2018 in the bay of Mont Saint-Michel. The Event is organised by Amaury Sport Organisation (hereafter the Organiser ) under the authority of the Fédération Française d Athlétisme (hereinafter the F.F.A. - French Athletics Federation). The present Rules are complementary to A.S.O. Challenges online registration platform s General Terms of Sale. Participation in the Event involves the express and unconditional acceptance by each participant (hereinafter the Participant(s) of A.S.O. Challenges General Terms of Sale, these Rules and any instructions addressed to Participants by the Organiser. The present Rules may be modified until the day of the Event. In this event, Participants will be informed of this modification in writing. In the event of any inconsistency between the terms of the present Rules and the A.S.O. Challenges General Terms of Sale, the terms of the Rules shall prevail. Article 2 Route The routes of the half-marathon and the marathon covering distances of kilometres and kilometres comply with international road race (International Association of Athletics Federation - IAAF and FFA) regulations. Details of the routes can be consulted on the Event s website (www. runinmontsaintmichel.com). Article 3 Participation Conditions The Semi de l Avranches is open to participants, be they licence-holders or not, born on 27 th May 2000 or before. The Duo-Marathon is open to runners be they licence-holders or not, born in 2000 or before.

2 The Marathon is open to participants, be they licence-holders or not, born in 1998 or before. The Trail de l Archanges is open to participants, be they licence-holders or not, born in 1998 or before. Participants born in 2000 after 27 th May 2000, who will be minors on the day of the race, must provide a parental consent form. Participants are reminded that checks will be carried out during the event to ensure that it takes place according to these regulations. It is expressly indicated that participants take part in the event at their own risk and solely under their own responsibility. Runners who are registered for the Event must produce one of the following documents, (this is an exhaustive list), - which is valid on the day of the event, issued by the Fédération Française d Athlétisme: an Athlé Compétition certificate, an Athlé Entreprise certificate, an Athlé Running certificate, a Passe J aime Courir, completed by their doctor. - A sports certificate which is valid on the day of the event, issued by an authorised federation (N.B.: certificates issued by delegate federations are not covered), including one of the following statements: "the absence of contraindications for participating in sports competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in athletics competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in running competitions. A sports licence which is valid on the day of the event, issued by the Fédération Française de Pentathlon Moderne, by the Fédération Française de Course d Orientation, or by the Fédération Française de Triathlon. - A medical certificate, or a copy, dated within one year of the date of the competition, including one of the following statements: "the absence of contraindications for participating in sports competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in athletics competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in running competitions. - Foreign Participants must provide a dated, signed medical certificate in French (regardless of where the doctor is based) or a certificate to which a French translation is added, even if they are holders of a competition licence issued by a federation which is affiliated to the IAAF, including one of the following statements: "the absence of contraindications for participating in sports competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in athletics competitions "the absence of contraindications for participating in running competitions. Article 4 Registration Registration for the event may only be done via the online registration platformhttp:// from 9 th November Rates are available on the Event s website. The Event Anyone who wants to take part in the Event must register as an ASO Challenges member beforehand and fill in a form.

3 For safety reasons, the Organiser reserves the right to limit the number of participants in the event. All registrations are personal, firm and binding and may not be refunded for any reason whatsoever (particularly, but not restricted to, reasons of registration errors, non-availability or impediments for medical reasons). For Participants wishing to subscribe, cancellation insurance is available when registering on A.S.O. Challenges. Registrations cannot be transferred under any circumstances. Anyone who transfers his race number to another person will be held responsible in the event that this person suffers or causes an accident during the Event. The Organiser declines all responsibility should such an accident occur. The race number must be completely visible throughout the event. Article 5 Collection of race numbers 5.1. Participants race numbers will be sent by post by regular mail. A.S.O. will send race numbers from 11 th May Participants receiving their race number by post will be notified by or text message Race numbers will only be sent to Participants by A.S.O. if its service provider RUN FOR YOU (hereinafter the the Service Provider ) has verified one of the following supporting documents proving their physical fitness, as listed in Article 3 of the present rules, (hereinafter the Supporting Documents ). In order to ensure that A.S.O. s Service Provider can control the conformity of the Supporting Documents, Participants will be able to access the Service Provider s platform from 4 th December 2017 until 24 th April 2018, at the following URL address Once they have filled in their last names, first names and dates of birth on the platform, they will be able to upload their Supporting Documents, which have been scanned beforehand, in JPEG or PDF format. Participants who have uploaded their Supporting Documents will receive an sent by the Service Provider from the address noreply@runinmsm.fr, validating the conformity of this Supporting Document or explaining the mistakes that need to be corrected, within an indicative time frame of four (4) working days The URL address will no longer be accessible from 24 th April at midnight. Participants who haven t uploaded their Supporting Documents on the platform will need to present them physically at the Caserne (50170) near the Barrage du Couesnon. The exact address as well as the collection times will be communicated to the people concerned by A.S.O. at a later date. In any case, no race numbers will be distributed on the day of the EVENT.

4 5.4. Any Participant who has not received their number but did receive notification that it was sent, must inform A.S.O. at the following address: before Monday 21 st May 2018 at midnight. Participants who provide this information will be issued with a replacement race number (hereinafter the Replacement Race Number ) to be picked up at the Caserne (50170) near the Barrage du Couesnon, upon presentation of a valid piece of ID. The exact address as well as the collection times will be communicated by A.S.O. at a later date. Participants who fail to inform A.S.O. before this date will not be able to get a Replacement Race Number and A.S.O. will not, under any circumstances, be held liable for this All chips stuck to the back of a Race Number sent by post but which has not been physically received will be deactivated. Therefore, any person participating in the Event with a Race Number declared as having not been received will not be timed and will not feature in the ranking established by A.S.O. Article 6 The Official Jury and Ranking Run in Mont Saint -Michel benefits from the national FFA label. The Official Jury consists of two adjudicating judges from the FFA for the marathon, whose decisions are final. He or she is assisted by race judges and commissioners who are also appointed by the FFA. Participants have a maximum time of 2 hours and 50 minutes (for the Half-Marathon), of 11 hours (for the Trail) and 5 hours and 30 minutes (for the marathon and duo marathon) to complete the route all the way to the finish line. After the end of race vehicle has passed by, participants must comply with traffic and road regulations. In agreement with the FFA, the age categories will give rise to a separate ranking. Article 7 Access to the site and Security on the Route The Organiser will ensure the security of the route during the event and medical services will be available throughout the route and at the finish. These medical staff may decide that participants must leave the race on medical grounds. It is strictly forbidden to bring any objects to the event site that may be dangerous or illegal, in particular drugs, firearms, blunt weapons and explosives. To access the site and take part in the event, the participant recognises and expressly agrees that the Organiser may call upon security personnel who will be authorised to check both people as well as inspecting their personal belongings. Everyone who wishes to access the site must comply with this check. If they refuse to do so they will not be authorised to access the site. The Organiser and the security staff may refuse access to the Event or prevent Participants from taking part if their behaviour is likely to disturb the smooth running of the Event notably under the following,

5 non-exhaustive circumstances: the use of any object which may hinder the race, the circulation and/or safety of other Participants; the use of any distinctive promotion, in any form, of an opinion [political, philosophical or religious] likely to damage the image of the Event. Article 8 Timing Systems: All registered participants will be sent an electronic chip (in the form of a strip, stuck directly on the back of each race number) by post. The chip will be detected i) at the start line, ii) on the intermediate mats along the route, and iii) at the finish. This chip ensures compliance with the event regulations and allows for the results and rankings for each of the four races to be established. In order to allow the chip to function properly it must not be folded or bent. Participants who do not follow the route defined by the Organiser, who use human and/or material assistance will not be recorded as having finished. The electronic detection system has been chosen according to strict reliability requirements. Despite tests conducted by the manufacturers, a very low percentage of cases of non-detection remains. Due to the lack of information resulting from this non-detection, the Organiser may be unable to show the official or real time for the competitor concerned in the ranking. The Organiser cannot be held responsible for this. Article 9 - Feeding stations Feeding stations, offering bottles of water and fruit, will be set up along the entire route. There will be 3 feeding stations for the Half-Marathon, 5 feeding stations for the Trail, 8 feeding stations for marathon runners plus an additional station after the finish line for all the Participants. Article 10 Respecting the environment In order to respect the environment in which the event takes place, it is strictly forbidden to leave litter (paper, plastic wrappers) on the routes. Bins will be provided at all feeding stations. Participants must make use of them when disposing of waste. Participants must hold onto their litter and wrappers and wait until they reach the places set up by the Organiser to dispose of them. The Organiser reserves the right to exclude participants from the race who deliberately dispose of their waste elsewhere than in these specific areas. Article 11 Fight against doping The event is organised under the authority of the FFA. As a result, anti-doping tests may be set up. Participants in the event undertake to strictly respect the ban on doping as well as the provisions

6 concerning anti-doping tests, arising from the laws and regulations in force, in particular Articles L et seq. of the French Code du Sport (Sports Code). Article 12 - Insurance Civil Liability: In accordance with current legislation, the Organiser has taken out insurance covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, that of its officials and that of all the participants in the event. As for the civil liability of the participants themselves, the afore-mentioned insurance policy will only cover accidents caused by participants during the event. This guarantee can apply in addition to or in lieu of other insurance policies that participants might take out. A copy of the insurance policy is available to all participants upon request. Personal accident: All participants in the event, be they holders of a sporting federation licence or not, may take out insurance by post or, at the latest, when they collect their race numbers. This policy will pay out a sum in the event of physical injury (death or permanent disability) as a result of an accident which has occurred on the event route. Compensation, according to the damages, will be paid if the insured person has an accident while participating in the event. This insurance is optional but strongly recommended. It can be taken out in addition to or instead of any similar insurance cover and, in particular, any cover provided by a sports licence. The information notice and application form are available on the Event's website. ( Registrations -> Insurance ) Material Damage: The Organiser will not be held responsible for damage (theft, breakage, loss, etc.) to participants personal belongings, not even those left in its care. Participants may not, therefore, take action against the Organiser for any damage caused to their equipment. Taking out insurance against such risks is the responsibility of the Participant. Article 13 Equipment forbidden on the route Bicycles, wheeled and/or motorised vehicles are strictly forbidden on the route. Article 14 Image Rights Participant s image : The Event may be recorded for public communication purposes, in any form (notably through photos, videos, etc.), on any existing or future media, in any format, for any communication to the public around the world, for any use including advertising and commercial use. As such, each Participant expressly grants the Organiser, its assignees and beneficiaries (notably its commercial partners) permission to record and reproduce, on any media and using any means, and subsequently to reproduce and represent, without remuneration of any kind, their name, voice, image and, more generally, their sporting activity within the context of the Event (hereinafter their Image ), for a duration which may not exceed (5) five years following the date of the Event. The Participant expressly authorises the Organiser to concede to Event partners sub-licences for the use of the Image for commercial and advertising purposes. The Participant gives his express and irrevocable permission for the Organiser, its delegates and its successors (notably its commercial partners) in order to meet the requirements of advertising, promotional and/or commercial campaigns, to 1) apply any modifications, additions or deletions that

7 it sees fit when using the participant s image in any of the circumstances defined above, and 2) associate and/or combine the participant s image with signatures, catchphrases, slogans, captions, brands, distinctive signs, legal notices, visuals and, in general, any element of any kind chosen by the Organiser to illustrate the means of communication in which the images are used. The Participant guarantees that he is not bound by an exclusive contract relating to the use of his Image. The Organiser, its delegates and its successors are expressly forbidden from using a Participant s name, voice or image in any format of a pornographic, racist or xenophobic nature, and more generally are forbidden from any use that is detrimental to the Participant s dignity. Participants are informed and unconditionally accept that their Image, recorded by the official representatives of the Organiser, may be accessible to the public without restriction on the A.S.O. Challenges website in the Members Area and on the Event website under the Results section. In terms of the Event site, Participants agree that they may be identified by any internet user by their last name, first name and/or race number Event Images: Any communication of still and/or moving images of the Event recorded by the Participant during their participation in the Event must be restricted to personal use and may not, under any circumstances, be used for advertising and/or commercial purposes outside the Event. Article 15 - Personal Data Generally speaking, personal data communicated by the Participants (hereinafter the Data ) are intended for approved staff of A.S.O. and of the Service Provider which are the companies responsible for processing this. Data are used to manage Participants access to their A.S.O. Challenges account to process and monitor their orders relating to the Event, after sales services of ordered products, marketing and customer relations, recovery, combating fraud and commercial marketing and sending promotional material for A.S.O. and/or its subsidiaries. In order to verify the Supporting Documents and to allow A.S.O. to ensure the management of Participants race numbers in the conditions mentioned in Article 5 of the present rules, the Service Provider RUN FOR YOU will store the following Participants personal data: last name, first name, date of birth and a medical certificate proving they are physically fit to take part in the Event. All the Data used by the Service Provider will no longer be stored by the latter once a file grouping together all this Data has been sent by the Service Provider to A.S.O., at the latest on 11th May Data may be communicated to A.S.O. s service providers to process orders and related services (notably photographs by the Official Photographer, personalisation of medals, etc.) and after sales services as well as for customer management purposes. Participants are liable to receive telephone calls and/or post and/or or SMS messages involving A.S.O. s promotional offers concerning products or services marketed on the A.S.O. Challenges platform. Participants are also liable to receive post, and / or and/ or SMS messages involving promotional offers from A.S.O. to whom Data may be communicated and released for commercial marketing

8 purposes, unless the Participant has ticked the relevant box during your registration on A.S.O. Challenges. In any case, you may oppose these requests in your Member area or under the conditions set out below. Pursuant to the Law of 6th January 1978 on Data Protection and Freedom of Information, you have the right to query, access, rectify and oppose for legitimate reasons all Data held about you and has the right to oppose commercial marketing from A.S.O. and/or its commercial partners. You also have the right to draft specific or general directives about the storage, deletion and communication of your Data after your death. You can exercise all these rights by sending an to the following address or by post, accompanied by a copy of the signed identity document, addressed to: A.S.O. Your requests will be taken into account within 48 (forty-eight) hours, except for requests sent by post, which require a period of 8 (eight) days. Article 16 Aerial Filming: All participants in the event confirm that they have been informed that on the day of the Event, remote controlled drones will be used for the purposes of media coverage and runners may find themselves throughout all or part of the event, within 30 metres of these drones. All participants in the Event also confirm that they have been informed that areas which have been predefined by the operator and identified by multi-coloured poles, and to which the access is strictly forbidden to the public and to participants, will be set up by the operator so that the aircraft can land in the event of an in-flight incident. Article 17 Applicable Law - Complaints Any complaints must be made in writing, in French or in English, mentioning the full name of the participant and his or her race number. They should be addressed to the Organiser s headquarters by

9 electronic mail to the following address: or by post to the following address, within thirty days of the results being announced. No claims will be accepted beyond this time. A.S.O. Run in Mont Saint-Michel Quai du point du jour Boulogne-Billancourt No written or telephone complaints about the interpretation of these rules will be answered. Participants may also contact the consumer affairs mediator. The consumer affairs mediator chosen by the Organiser is the Centre de Médiation et d Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP Service Médiation de la Consommation, 39 Avenue Franklin D. Roosevelt Paris, France). Participants may also contact the competent Public Consumer Affairs Ombudsman, where one exists. To contact a Consumer Affairs Ombudsman, Participants should first send a registered letter with proof of receipt to A.S.O. at the address given above. If the participant does not receive a response or is not satisfied with the response from A.S.O. within two (2) months, they may, before turning to a competent court and within one year of first notifying the Organiser, use the free consumer disputes mediation service for the Event by contacting the CMAP either via the contact details provided below or via its website( or may contact the relevant public consumer affairs mediator. These regulations were originally drafted in French, which is considered as the official language. They are subject to French law. Any difficulties relating to the Event which cannot be resolved by amicable agreement between the Organiser and the Participant fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent civil courts. Article 18 Modification -Postponement- Cancellation of the race If need be, the Organiser reserves the right to modify the route, the position of the feeding stations and the timing points, the distance to be covered and to postpone the date and/or the start time of the event, at any time. If the event has to be cancelled in the event of a reason beyond the Organiser s control, according to the circumstances, the Organiser will offer compensation such as replacing the event by another event

10 organised by the Organiser, allowing the entrant to postpone his event registration or reimbursing the cost of the race number, less the registration fees, excluding all the participant s other expenses. Article 19 Information about the event sent by By registering for the event, the participant is automatically subscribed to the event s e-newsletters sent before the event takes place. These letters will allow participants to receive all the practical information necessary to prepare the event and to ensure it goes smoothly. Article 20 Acceptance of the Rules Participation in the event implies express acceptance of the regulations by each participant.
