1 Bob Dailey Track and Field Meet May 2nd and 3rd, 2015 Sanctioned by BC Athletics LOCATION Bob Dailey Track 4480 Vimy St. Port Alberni, BC REGISTRATION Saturday 10:00 am; Sunday 9:00 am. No pre-registration needed, but Clubs should complete and present attached form. Cheques should be made payable to Alberni Valley Track Club All Athletes must be competitive members of BC Athletics (club, school or independent) for the year STICKERS ARE MANDATORY. There is no pre-registration. Please have a sticker for each event for each athlete with athlete s name, year of birth, VIAA number and club name. Thanks! MEET FEES AWARDS Unlimited entry. Two days: $ Single day fee: $20.00 for independent or unattached athletes.no Day of Entry membership. All athletes MUST be competitive members of BC Athletics (club, school or independent) or other provincial associations. VIAA member clubs that provide volunteers cost $22 for two days and $15 single day. All events: Ribbons 1st through 8th places CATEGORIES JD Athletes born in 2006, 2005, 2005, 2003, or 2002 Midget (2000 and 2001) compete together and scored together. Youth: 1998 & 1999 Juniors: 1996 and 1997; Seniors: 1995 to 1981; Masters: 1980 and earlier (awards based on 5 year increments). Some categories may be combined for competition purposes, but awards will be separated by age categories. Track Events: All races are timed finals! OLDEST to YOUNGEST (Except hurdles please see separate hurdle schedule). Field Events: 3 attempts only. In Midget and Older classes the top 8 competitors will get an additional 3 attempts. START TIMES Saturday, May 2nd at 10:00 am Sunday, May 3rd at 9:00 am. See attached schedule for event start times. Coaches Meetings: 9:30 am Saturday; 8:45 am Sunday - At the flagpole Note: Where a conflict occurs between a track and a field event, report to field event first, remain at field event until track event is being marshalled, then proceed to the track event. Return to field event as quickly as possible. Field events will not be delayed and competitors may miss jumps or throws. OFFICIALS CONCESSION This is a Vancouver Island Athletic Association Series meet. Club officiating assignments have already been set. If a Club has difficulty in meeting assignment, or will not be in attendance, please make alternate arrangements with another club. 5 TRACK EVENT INFORMATION Track events are run girls first, then boys in the following age order: Open Athletes [masters, seniors, juniors, youth] Midgets (2000 and 2001) JD 13 to JD 9 (2002 to 2006) HURDLES Hurdle events will be run from the highest to the lowest hurdle heights. Please see the hurdle schedule. Athletes are requested to make sure that they are in the correct hurdle race as reruns will not be permitted. 200m H are run from 2000 to 2003 age category 30 Steeples only available. Midget F/M 1500m SC, Youth F/M 2000m SC only RELAYS Clubs are able to combine ages but may not mix genders. Team will run as the age of the oldest team member. Different clubs may combine members to form teams. Athletes wishing to run on a team can report to the Relay Marshall and we will do our best to place the athlete on a team. Relays are for fun only. Results will be posted, but not recorded. Ribbons will be provided to JD relay teams. RELAY ENTRY FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE REGISTRATION TABLE UP TO ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE RELAY RACE TIME. FORMS HANDED IN AT THE TIME OF RELAY, RISK NOT BEING ACCEPTED EVENT CHANGES All new event specifications from the 2015 season will be follow THE FALSE START RULE APPLIES. FOR ANY FALSE START RESULTS IN DISQUALIFICATION. FOR 9 TO 13 YEAR OLDS THE FIRST FALSE START WILL BE CHARGED TO THE FIELD. TIMED FINALS All track events are run as timed finals. Electronic timing.
